Bringing Rumors to Reality

Verdan opens his mouth to say something, but all the comes out is a hoarse cough. "Umm.... right...." he manages to force out after the warrior who has called himself Protégé has made his speech. "Go into its spear with bears to hunt the cave... Uhh... what?" Verdan shakes his head, as if to clear his mind of all the useless thoughts that had begun crawling throughout after Protégé's words. "Anyways, I'll pretend to believe that you are who you say you are and ask you the same question that I asked of Arianna. Do you believe the rumors?.. Do you believe that there are demons there?.. Or other creatures?.." Verdan speaks with slight distrust in his voice.

Seeing Arianna head towards the caves, Verdan hurries after her, not wanting to be left alone with that psycho, the warrior who claims he's a demon from hell or something. "Ahoy! I thought you didn't believe in the stories! What makes you want to go to those caves? Me, I'm going there to prove them true. You, well, you're not even prepared enough to go to the nearest city, talk about a venture into those caves...

Arianna kept her eyes resolutely on the Caves ahead, her mouth narrowing in faint annoyance. Despite her previous act, it was just that; an act. She could still hear Verdan questioning the one named Protégé. The warrior was strange, to say the least. He seemed to be trustworthy, but that might not be the case. When Verdan called to her, she shut her eyes, silently praying for patience.

'You, well, you're not even prepared enough to go to the nearest city, talk about a venture into those caves'

She spun, glaring at the Mage. "No, I don't believe in the stories. But if I am willing to actually try to see past stories then should you be questioning me when I'm doing you a favour by not leaving you alone with him?" Ari snapped, then bit her lip. That last part wasn't supposed to have come out. She sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Look, if I walk away and something happens to the two of you, I'll feel partly responsible, Okay? So I'm coming whether you two like it or not." With that, she turned her back to the young man and continued onward.
