The Noise Of A Sword

[Paine Edelias]

It was a dark cold night in the Abandone Citadel. Clouds were passing one by one over the abandoned citadel. Paine had been working so hard lately on makeing her swordd she decided to make one that no one would know about. Paine started with the metal broken piece of the bottom of the sword which had a dragon twines with a vine on the handle. Paine took metal and bent it into the shape of a sword she had worked so hard on this she was so tired she almost callapsed. Paine put all the metal pieces together and melted the metal together and then put it in the water to cool it off. She took it out and looked at it it had an engraving in it as well. Our Fears Will OverCome when the day we get revenge!!. Pain took the sword and put her stuff on the ground. Paine stood in one spot and swung the sword around. Paine practiced with the sword almost all night. She could barely stand but she praticed more with her sword barely able to keep her strength like she was ready to collapse.

[Verdan]

Verdan was wandering through the citadel, exploring the place hoping to find himself a nice hideaway in case he needed a day to get away from everyone. He was not expecting to meet anyone in there. That was why he jumped at the sight of a warrior in one of the rooms practicing with a sword. Verdan marveled at the sight. It was such an elegant art, swordplay. After having watched the warrior practice for long enough, Verdan decided to reveal himself, for it was not a very honest thing, to spy on people.

"Hello!" He called out loud, walking toward the person. "Your skills with a sword are marvelous, though I cannot be one to judge, for I am a mage, not a warrior and know little of the art of fighting." Having walked closer to the fighter, Verdan saw how tired she was. "You should really take a break." he said, "Overworking yourself cannot lead to anything good."

[Paine Edelias]

As Practicing alittle more she heard someone walk towards her.After stopping she noticed someone she stopped and drove the sword threw the ground dirt. Paine fell to her knees tired out alot." Thank you, My Name Is Paine" she says to him trying to breathe. " I always oerwork myself but no this much she says taking the sword out of the dirt and placing it infront of her.

[Verdan]

Verdan walked closer and kneeled in front of Paine to match her position and rested his staff on his right side.

"My name is Verdan. It's nice to meet you, Paine." he said looking far into her eyes, attempting to see something about her. "You should never overwork yourself. You can get seriously hurt."

[Paine Edelias]

"yes i know" she says " I also overwork myself with training" she syas to him showing him the mark on her leg from training " i train hard" she says to him She stared back into his eyes. " I fight hard for my family thats why i hurt myself" she sya sto him sitting there still on the ground trying to get up but instead staying in the position of kneeling on the Ground.

[Verdan]

"You fight for a noble cause," Verdan says, his voice filled with respect. "It is not every day one gets a chance to meet someone such as yourself. However, there is never any reason to go overboard, to the point where you hurt yourself."

Verdan notices her trying to stir. "Don't try to move." he says, "Rest. It's well earned, for I watched you practice and it was a marvel to see."

[Paine Edelias]

"Yes I know i do" she syas to him " I fight for my family" she say sto him " thats why i train so much" she says to him sitting down on the ground trying to breathe. THe day was getting darker and clouds started to move over as they looked like rain clouds as well since pain felt a bit of rain drops. She stayed there picking up her sword looking at it and then back at him

[Verdan]

Verdan looks up at the sky, at the gathering clouds. Raindrops were beginning to fall, quickly getting bigger and stronger. Soon enough, it would be an all-out storm. Verdan looks slightly concerned.

"Looks like we're stuck in here for the time being." he says, gesturing around the citadel. "I guess we should make ourselves comfortable."

However, he does not stir, waiting for what Paine has to say to that.

[Paine Edelias]

Paine sat there trying to struggle to get up. " If were stuck here then i guess we have to" She says to him looking at the sky. "But we got to find somewhere out of the rain tho" she says to him. Paine Try's to Stand up as she Stands up, Paine try's keeping her balance almost falling backwards. " I guess we are going to make ourselves comfortable, cause i can barely walk, and everything" she says to him. " Thats if you don't mind Staying here in this place" she says to him.

[Verdan]

Verdan gets up in a flash and hurries over to Paine, seeing as she is about to topple over. He puts his arm around her waist, supporting her weight and helping her keep balance. He begins to walk to the nearest shelter, that being the gloomy citadel itself, half-carrying Paine with him.

"Doesn't look like we have much of a choice than to stay in this place, does it?" he says with a note of unhappiness. He was not planning to stay long in the citadel. Now, he had to.

[Paine Edelias]

" I wasn't expecting the weather to be like this" she says to him. " It wasn't supposed to rain at all" she says. " But of course as i sensed somethigg was going to change about today" she says to him. " She sat in the shelter after being helped by him. " Thank you for helping me" she says to him. She slightly smile making it uncomfortable to be able to bend since she trained so hard she slid down the wall sitting on the ground.

[Verdan]

Verdan assists Paine to the ground while he himself wanders around the room looking for something flammable.

"I wasn't expecting this either. It's amazing how unexpected weather can be." Verdan says. "Although, what you sensed could mean something different. Weather changing is an everyday thing and means very little. Something still may yet change. Or it has already."

Verdan finds an old chair and carries it over to the nearest wall. He swings it around and bashes it into the wall, breaking it into convenient pieces for burning. He piles them up neatly and tries to ignite them. He looks at the pile with utter concentration. Smoke begins to billow from the wood, though it does not light.

"Blasted spell. I could never get it to work. You wouldn't have any flint with you, would you?" he asks Paine after giving up on making a fire with magic.

[Paine Edelias]

Paine had moved abit towards the wood to light it. She took her dagger, and a rock, and brushes the metal and rock together, making sparks fly from it, and hit the wood. It started to make flames in it, and grew to a fire. Paine then put the Dagger back in her pocket and threw the rock away she leaned back trying to relax. Paine looked around trying to relax and find something to do except clean her sword and daggers. " There you go" she sya to him, as the flames shoot from the fire.

[Verdan]

"Coulda done it myself, you know. We mages aren't helpless." he says indignantly, taking off his cloak and handing it to Paine. "Try to sleep. You need the rest. Then, tomorrow morning we could explore this gloomy place a bit more, in daylight."

Verdan himself settles down and leaning his back against a wall stares at the flames, enjoying their warmth and beauty. He always liked fire and enjoyed staring into the flames.

" Thank You" she says to him/ Paine relaxes and puts ther cloak over her bodyto warm herself up. After a couple of minutes pain Fell Asleep. As She fell asleep she kept dreaming about the past which she shouldn't have had cause her head kept tilting one way and then the other her she was getting all sweaty mostly from the heat of her body.
