David glanced towards Verdan. It didn't matter to him whether those two mages knew each other or not. The fact that she had sent something towards him that he didn't know at the moment was more than enough of a reason to have her at the end of his sword. However, he sighed and looked once more towards the citadel. It's dark and eerie shape looming off in the distance. He blinked several times looking at the structure. The sound of the rain banging against the metal and stone that created the abandoned citadel could be heard from where he stood. Or perhaps he was just hearing the hard rain drops falling against the gravestones and rusted armor. He didn't know and he couldn't properly distinguish either.
David welcomed the coversation of the sword though he didn't look like he did. It was something to get his mind off of the memories that he was dwelling on currently. "I have two swords with me. The weapon that you just saw was one of them. If you were to have looked carefully when I was sheathing it you would have at least saw the hilt of the second." he stated, "The swords are not named because of elements, but because of the magic that was forged into their blades. Four wizards of a grand scale had made a bargain with a great blacksmith. Two of the wizards got along fine while the other two were rivals. One wizard used blue magic, which doesn't just cover the elements of water and ice, he was a manipulator and could control nearly any aspect. His rival was the wizard that used red magic, an aggressive and destructive type of magic. He was known to destroy nearly anything. However, these two wanted a way to protect themselves from their own magic and their rival's magic. Thus the Sword of Fire and Ice was created. The sword protects it's wielder from both blue and red magic. The other sword is known as the Sword of Light and Shadow. The two wizards that had this sword forged where powerful as well. One used white magic, which repsresents things that are holy and life. The other wizard was one of black magic, the magic which was death and unholy things. This sword as well grants it's wielder protection from both of those types of magic. The other copies of these swords are yet to be found. It's also said that these swords possess other abilities, but where only known to those wizards who wielded them."
David finished the tale with a final sigh and a bolt of lighting that followed the rumbling of thunder. The rain hadn't eased during his small tale about the swords. And then he had finally gotten their names before the tale. However, he chose to introduce himself after he gave them that information. Verdan was the male mage and Ariadne was the female. He nodded his head towards both of them. "A pleasure to meet both of you during this dark hour of the morning." he stated, "I'm David Augustine and as you have probably already figured out, I'm a warrior."

The fighter did not look like Verdan's words mattered to him. He did have reason to be distrusting of Ariadne, for she had shot an orb of unknown energy at him and startled him quite a bit. He has been looking at the citadel an awful lot in the past several minutes. What was so intriguing about the citadel that he was so absorbed in its view. The fighter never did tell Verdan about the history of the place. He was interrupted by Ariadne's spellcasting abilities.
The warrior did not seem to welcome the question of the history of his weapons. However, he did begin to tell the tale. Verdan listened to it with mild interest, keeping silent throughout, his expression unchanging. It was quite amazing how the blades were forged. Wielding them, the fighter would be almost invincible against a mage. Almost. The type of magic that Verdan uses, and is learning to use. It does not use any force in particular, but produces raw energy, a demonstration of which was seen some time ago when Ariadne dove into the mud to avoid getting hit.
Having heard the stranger name, Verdan inclined his head slightly as a sign of greeting and acknowledgment. The rain not having let up was still beating down onto the ground, making dull sounds against the stone graves and the citadel and ringing sounds against the hollow armor of the dead warriors.

Ariadne listened to his tale. She didnt like him much. He seemed too uptight. "I already said I was sorry...What more could you want?" Ariadne thought as she let out an exhasperated sigh. "But none the less I guess Ill have to be nice." Ariadne thought to herself. Ariadne didnt really pay attention to his tale she just heard random words. "Light, shadow, agressive, destructive, wield." "If he didnt want to tell us the story then why did he?"Ariadne thought after he was done with his tale.
"I wouldnt say its a dark hour. It just seems this way." Ariadne said as she looked around the Citadel the corpses of the dead warriors in plain view. Ariadne got the chills as she pulled her cloak closer to her.

David looked towards the clouds yet again. As if trying to see the moonlight beyond the dark clouds that covered the sky. He closed his eyes and sighed as he turned his gaze back on the dark citadel. This ground was littered with fallen comrades and other people that he didn't even know. People who followed him till the end or at least till theirs. He stretched his arms and legs letting out yawn as he covered his mouth the best he could. His clothes were just about fully soaked now from the hard rain that was falling from the sky. Another bolt of lightning broke the darkness to be followed by the sound of thunder.
He was interupted in thought by the voice of Ariadne. He glanced over towards her and chuckled to himself. "It's well past midhour of night." David informed her. He then turned to fully face her and walked to where she was standing. He looked down to where her eyes should be located though he couldn't really see in the darkness. "Sorry about my previous gesture. I don't usually make actions like that. It's just this night is so similar to a previous one." he apologized and explained his actions which wasn't a really good reason either.

Ariadnes legs were started to feel pain. Shes been standing too long. Ariadne started looking around."Wonder why my feet brong me here?" She asked herself. Ariadne then hurd Davids voice. He told her it was past midnight. "Really? I dint know that...I thought it was just late afternoon." Ariadne replyed to him. She would have never gone about walking to a place like this around midnight.
David then approached and her apologized. She looked up to see his gaze..but couldnt really call out his facial features since it was the moon was covered by the clouds and that would have been the only source of light in a place like this. "Its okay." Ariadne assured him as she nodded. "Anyone would have done the same." "So care to explain how this night is like a previous one?" Ariadne asked him. "Only if you want to though. Im not going to force you." She then looked up where the moon is supposed to be."You see Im new to Avaren so I dont know much about its history." Ariadne explained to him.

David blinked as another crash of thunder and lightning happened. The rain had lightened up some, but it was still raining. It would only be a few brief moments before the rain would pick up speed again. However, turned his gaze back on the citadel and turned his body to face it as well. He lowered his head again and closed his eyes in an attempt to recall everything that had happened that night. The night of that climatic battle. The battle of the fate of Avaren. It was one that wouldn't be in the history books nor recorded in them because of two reasons. One it was only a year ago and secondly things had happened that were better left unknown.
"Let's just say that the events that took place here about a year ago is something that you won't find in the text of a history book." David started to tell the story. He went into it as if it was some legendary battle. He didn't give names to the characters but more or less refered to them by their class and what they were known for. He told the story of the night that the stage was set similiarly to this one. Only that there was no battle fixing to happen that he knew of. He informed them of everything except for the people's names including his own. The detail was so precise that they could've imagined it happening around them at this very moment. He then came to a close about the decisive battle between the dragoon and the dark paladin. The answer of who one or lost was never given as if his memory had been erased from that point till now. "Some things are better left unspoken." David ended the much longer tale.

Ariadne wiped the rain from her face as she pulled up the hood of her cloak on her head. Then thunder storm had become a light drizzle. Lightning struck a distance far. It was quite beautiful in Ariadnes opinion. Ariadnes then heard Davids tale as she intently heard his story. "It must have been quite abattle." Ariadne thought "Everyone fighting for the best or worse of Avaren." Ariadne. After David was done she just looked at him wide-eyed. He described the battle with such deatail. From the efforts of the warriors to defend themselves, to the ldescription of how a trickle of blood fell from their bodies. "Usually if a battle isnt told in a text-book its because it has much controvery or because it doesnt have enough eveidence of some sort." Ariadne told him as she looked up to his face. Not able to read his face. "So you must have gathered this information from surviving soldiers?" Ariadne asked him.

David looked away as Ariadne made her comments and other things. He looked towards the citadel as the rain continued to fall from the clouds. After a few moments of silence, the rain began to pick up again. The rumbling of thunder could be heard and the bolts of lightning in the sky and those that crashed into the earth could be seen. The storm was continuing and the winds were picking up as well. David looked towards Ariadne and then towards Verdan. He didn't feel like being around here anymore.
He casted a glance at Ariadne and then walked past her. He stopped about a foot away from her and kept his back towards her. Though he turned his head slightly so he could see her out of the corner of his eyes. "Yes, this information was gathered from a surviving warrior." David answered her question as he stood there. He didn't say anything else but he nodded his head and then faced the direction in front of him. He began to walk through the mud and water puddles heading back to Avaren. The memory of this place still inside of his mind and the battle replaying over and over inside of his mind.

Ariadne shivered as it was raining harder now and the winds began to pick up speed once again. Ariadne expected him to say more. But he didnt. He just looked away as she spoke. Her train of thought then stopped as she heard Davis speak. "Yes, this information was gathered from a surviving warrior." He said. When Ariadne went to look at him he wasnt in front of her anymore. Ariadne turned around to find David walking away. "Leaving without a goodbye, Sir." Ariadne called out to him. As she waited for his reply.

David stopped in his tracks when he heard her voice chasing after him. He gazed ahead for a moment and then slowly turned around to face her. He blinked a few times looking towards her figure. He gave a sigh and the chuckled silently to himself. "It's only good bye if you say it is." David replied to Ariadne, "However, I don't favor being in the rain for too long at this late hour. So if you want to accompany back to town then you may. If not, then it is good bye." He then turned and his cape fanned outward some from where he was at casting off some of the water that it had absorbed through it's ends. He then began to walk away again towards Avaren.

((Sorry about the shortness, I think my muse is on vacation.))
Verdan listened to the story intently, taking in every detail. After having told his tale, David began to walk away, to which Verdan reacted mildly, unlike Ariadne. He let the warrior have his choice in being alone and leaving the pair of mages. Ariadne, however had a different mindset. She called after him, to which he was obliged make an offer for them to join him. As Ariadne asked him whether he wanted to come, Verdan took one look back on the citadel and followed David in the direction of the city, keeping at his own pace. If they wished to match it, let them. More importantly, Verdan needed to ponder on the story.

David glanced over at Verdan with his blue eyes. He could tell that he was absorbing and thinking on the story that David had just told. He felt a chill run up and down his spine yet again as another flash of lightning jolted across the sky only to be followed by the roar of thunder. The drops of water still were hitting as hard against any object if not harder than before. He nodded as he saw the male mage walk towards them and eventually pass David. His blue eyes following the mage that was dressed in green as he walked.
David then himself began to walk at his own pace. He kept to himself like the mage. His hand on one of the swords since it would be faster to take out as compared to his spear. He also kept another hand read to grab for one end of the spear. He would draw the sword first for a defense then unsling his spear during the lapse of time hoping that there would be enough time. However, he hoped most of all that they wouldn't be attacked during this hour though the risk of it was much more higher.

riadne just stood there as Verdan passed her. She then saw how they both started walking both on different paces. "Wow..I would have rather walked alone." Ariadnt thought to herself. She didnt like the feeling of loneliness. But she hated when people were together yet they werent talking. That urked her. Ariadne was quite the talker. She then sneezed."Oh man..I think Im getting a cold." Ariadne said to herself aloud. She started walking back towards the town. She was looking down she didnt want the cold wind to hit her face..but she was guided by the footsteps of David. As he was leaving tracks of footsteps on the mud.

As Verdan passed David, he followed the still figure with his eyes until he could no longer see him. The warrior was tense, expecting an attack, keeping his hands ready to draw his weapons. Verdan decided it would be wise to follow suit, seeing as he was the leader of the three, walking in front, he would be the first to get attacked. He tightened his grip on his staff and dug in the reaches of his mind for some good spells to defend himself and ward off the attacker.
The rain was beginning to annoy him. It was beating a bruise on the top of Verdan's head. The droplets were unnaturally heavy. In addition, the thunderclaps bursting in his ears did not help. To top it all off, lightning was blinding him one moment, then it was pitch black the next. Verdan was tired of it all. Tired and cold. He pulled his wet cloak closer around him as he made a mental note to learn a spell against the elements of the weather once he got to Aesir.
