Tyanno watched, suppressing a smirk as Shadow snatched Reno by the ear and lead him over to the group. He smiled back to Theo as she stepped out from behind him. "I don't know, things are getting hairy, and if what you say is true, I don't want to spend any more time in the city than is required. Alezand was attacked the other day in the tavern. He made it away, with a mage in tow, but it's still too dangerous. Maybe if there was a way that we could signal Alezand or another one of our allies, I'd might risk it. Can you do it Shadow?" he asked.
Tyanno was very nervous now, hearing Reno's news. And after Alezands misadventures in the last week, Tyanno really wanted to get the frel out of here. He felt rather in adequate with his powers. Shadow was powerful, but it would be tough for him to defend them all, and Tyanno wasn't sure of Reno's ability in combat. If they had maybe one more combatant, then Shadow and that fellow could defend in case if conflict and Reno and Tyanno could scout and lead the party to a safe place...
(maybe Chao, I can give him the scent of Alezand and he can search for him, while we move on.)

((Chao doesn’t need a scent... he is psychically attuned.)) Shadow shook his head. "Damn.... they were good souls..." Sighing he pointed towards the tavern. "Well, we should head in that direction then. Let’s go!" Stopping on a dime at Tyanno’s request, he smiled as he slowly turned to face him. "Who says we need a signal? We can have him come directly..." the smile turning into a frown, shadow looked around. "All right, show yourself. Come on, we need you." There was a soft growl, and Chao turned visible as he emerged from the shadows behind Theo and Tyanno. The dragon dog was happy to help though, and so Shadow smiled again. "Tyanno, this is Chao. He will gain any information needed from your memory. If, that is ok of course. I need you to think of the person you have in mind, and as Chao scans your memory, he will gain any information necessary to find this person." the dragon dog snorted. "Oh, and he says that he'll be able to do it in a matter of minutes, and not to worry, he wont stir up old memories." Looking around once more, he nodded to Chao, who began to glow brightly. Hello there human. Simply think of whom you would like me to seek, as per shadow’s instructions, and that person will be found. (I’ll pm Alezand… or wait… you can tell him…))

(No need, he already knows.) Tyanno's thoughts brushed things of the recent and of the distant past. The training episode out in the woods, the banquet hall, the dungeons, Adrienne's home. He fed all these to the dragon in simple calm. The creature seemed to put him at ease. Whether it was his own subconsciousness or a power of the creature, there was no telling.
"There, that should be adequate for you, Chao. Good hunting my friend." He bid the graceful beast luck and nodded to the rest of the party. "Then let us make our way, and quickly. I do not have a very good feeling about today. Something is going to happen. And you know I am not one to be pessimistic..."

All Theo could really do was watch after the idea of the tavern had been denied. Once she thought about going to the gate, if this place was a dangerous as everyone made it out to be, it was the better idea. She was tired but sleep would be more pleasing is she were in Aesir. Tyanno wanted to go on but he wanted an ally with him. But how? Shadow seemed to be filled with answer. From behind a big flaming dog... or what is dragon... had come from the cast shadow that both Tyanno and Shadow made. She was impressed. She watched the creature as it move with grace but held a fierce look in its eye. She liked him.
Not only was the puppy pretty, but he could read minds too. Shadow has instructed Tyanno to think of the person he wanted to find. Alezand?, she guessed. Tyanno had mentioned him earlier. But it could be anyone. Then Shadow's beast left and Tyanno passed a glance to everyone. "And you know I am not one to be pessimistic...", she quoted back to herself. She smirked and followed suit with the group.

Shadow looked around, curiously. "I have the same feeling... but it isn’t as strong. I am feeling that something in general will happen today... be it for the better or for the worse." Shadow, who was near the back of the group, had his hand on his dagger. "I wish that we could go straight to the gates..." Looking around, he noticed Theo smirk, and looked at her quizzically. what is she smirking about, I wonder... The sooner we get to the tavern, the better... Sighing, he lowered his hood, his orange eyes glinting in the light of the sunset. "Well, we have missed the gates, not that i was hoping to reach them..." Shaking his head, he ran a hand through his hair. "We should definitely get to the Tavern before nightfall... I’m not sure weather or not there is a curfew...” Absentmindedly, he pulled out his dagger, tossing it in his hand. “Hmm… Wait... How will we stay in the tavern if we have no money?” He searched his ouch, but there wasn’t any gold in it, a rare thing. “I, for once, don’t have any money on me. Reno, do you have any?” ((meh… tis really short…))

As one would have it, Alezand was actually headed to the Tavern after his visitation by sweet Adrienne. His last trip to the place was rather interesting, having to evade capture from Vidar's lapdog with miss Everglade in tow and happening upon the maverick Reno along the way. But he needed the familiar atmosphere and a stiff drink. And he needed to think some things over. Yes, there was one quick fling between him and Linz. But that was the past and he was hopelessly infatuated with Adrienne. He knew that look in her eyes when she feared a new woman coming between them.
He almost had to smile at her insecurity and devotion to him. He hoped he had put her fears aside. He was half way there from the market when a curious creature appeared before him. He immediately suspected the incredible animal to be Shadow's companion. He knelt before the dragon. "What do you have for me?"

Chao growled lightly. "I trust that you have ridden a horse before, Mr. Jozlyn." He crouched down low, the flames on his back dissipating as he did so. "You have been summoned of sorts, by a certain Tyanno, whom requests your assistance in guarding a mage on her way to Aesir. I have no idea why four humans need to guard another, but he insisted on me finding you, to augment Shadow's abilities. So hop on my back, and I will take you there before they can move so much as a yard." The Dragon dog's mane flared. "they plan on coming to the tavern, then continuing on to the mage city, and Tyanno has proposed to take Reno and go ahead scouting the path we will be walking, but requests that you be there, like i said, to assist Shadow if ambushed or confronted." The dragon dog hummed softly, watching The man and the surrounding area. yes, the creature's magic was still in place, as not one passer-bye had taken note of Chao. "I suggest we hurry, as their are many ears and eyes about."

Alezand frowned, "Alright friend. Never a dull moment with Tyanno and Shadow around eh?" He stepped up and swung his leg over the magnificent creature. He had to admit feeling of regret. It didn't feel right to ride such a intelligent and powerful animal. He sat lightly, and it was some comfort that he wasn't like most traditional knights and did not wear armor and he was a smaller man than most. It still didn't feel right, but he swallowed his concern aside. Tyanno wouldn't have requested his presence just to escort a mage to safety, than something big must've happened.
"Lets go, shall we? Can you tell me what has Tyanno and Shadow worried as to that which they need extra muscle?" He asked as the dragon raised itself off its haunches. He was at a slight quandary as to where to grip his ride, but he didn't have very long to ponder the question...

Chao didn't hear him, as he was to busy making sure that Azeland didn't fall off. The area around them blurred, and suddenly, they came into view of the rag-tag group, all the more obvious because of shadow, who stood at least a foot above the rest. "here we are. they will be arriving at this point in about three... two... one." The world returned to normal, and Shadow, Reno, Tyanno, and Theo appeared. Shadow bowed, and smiled. "so good of you to join us, sir... knight. did you enjoy riding Chao? that is something that even I don't get to do often..." Shadow sighed, and Chao bent down so Aelzand could get off. "Now Tyanno, Do you feel that we are adequately protected?" Shadow laughed. "I hope so, because I alt east would like to reach the tavern by nightfall." He shook his head as he looked around. "And by the looks of it, if we left now, we might make it."

Tyanno was taking his first steps toward the direction of the tavern in general, deciding what less traveled path would suit the group the best when a interesting sight grasped him. Alezand suddenly winked into existence astride Chao's back. "Greetings my good friend. Reno here has informed us that the gates and main streets of the city are under heavy guard, and of the stories we've heard and of your last venture in the tavern, I figure we could use a little bit more muscle. I don't like our chances of going unnoticed by our not so friendly religious militant faction. We're lucky that this little one didn't get nabbed already. She made a fireball in plain sight."
Tyanno turned and gestured to Theo. "May I introduce my partner, Alezand Jozlyn, Rapaere Captain of the Guard. Alezand, meet Theolyn Meijer. She is new here, and we are taking her to the safety of Aesir." He pulled closer to Alezand. "How is everything? Haven't seen you in a couple weeks. Is Adrienne alright?" He murmured between the two of them as they began to walk again.

Shadow looked over at Theo, whom he was currently walking next to and towering over. "so... I saw you gazing at Chao earlier. Isn't he amazing? I have lived with him for all my twenty four years, and still haven't figured him out..." He sighed. "I really wish we weren't in this city... this seems like it is taking forever...." He moaned sarcastically some more, but realized that if anything, it would slow the group down. he looked over at reno, who seemed to be quite quiet. shaking his head, he sighed again. "we should get there soon though... its only another block... Right?"
((we should move this along...))

"Not far my friend. Besides, the night would serve us well in our further travel. I excel in moving unnoticed in the dim. I may wager a guess that you too, also make well of darkness for going unseen. But I agree that we could make a stop at the tavern. Hopefully, our night will not be as exciting as my last visit. Last time, I had to evade the damned Laura Summers and her headhunting crew, with miss Everglade in my charge. Reno may remember that adventure, he did join us later.' Alezand nodded toward the thief and leaned to Tyanno. "Everything is well with us, my brother. She sends her best. I expect you'll see her again at Rapaere. I pray I will see you there upon the time we agreed."
They came up around another corner and there stood the tavern. Alezands heart sank though as the place came into view. He cursed under his breathe as he noted the handful of guards outside the establishment. Some stood at attention, others were clearly there under recreation. "If they're outside, there are surely more within. I would not fear under normal circumstances, but we do have a young lady in tow. I have confidence in our ability to handle it, but how feel you all?" He said, turning to he fellows.

Reno chuckled. "well, I'm sure that between shadow's magic, Tyanno's magic, my shurikens, your blades, and Theo's magic, we would be able to do something. I happen to have a few home-made explosives, courtesy of Shadow himself. On top of that, we could have Chao help us I'm sure, if he was so inclined, and do something spectacularly distracting. On top of that.... Well, I'm pretty sure that only a small army would be able to take us down. if worst comes to worst, then we could all grab onto Chao and phase away, or something like that. but that would only be after we knocked buildings down to block our enemy's advances." Reno laughed. "Besides, Tyanno and I will be scouting ahead, so we should be able to smell trouble and ambushes before they happen. I personally think that, since I have no money, Shadow is broke, and I'm not sure about you two, but I'm pretty sure that Theo is broke also, that we should just climb the rooftops until we get to the lower parts of the walls and escape over the walls. if that is possible. Other than that, we should get a plan before Curfew."

"Explosives you say?" Tyanno questioned, a sly and mischievous smile crossing his sturdy features. he looked back at Alezand, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" He knew it be dangerous, but it would be tactically sound. He knew that Alezand had the exact same thing mulling over in his calculative mind. After all, he was the one who taught Tyanno military tactics. And what's with a little fun at the enemy's expense. Its not often that they got to actually carry out any real missions lately since the lock down and changing of the guard. Avaren is more full of cheats, cutthroats and general dark-heartedness than either of the other two locales. It made it very hard for them to do their job...

Alezand was most assuredly having the same thoughts as Tyanno. His mind ran through the scenario in more explicit detail. "Hmm, Reno show me what you have for explosives. I want to make a distraction and a little demoralization for these troops. Their happy hour is about to end." Alezand paused for a moment and then resumed, after more ideas whirred through his head. " I'm gonna need something like a grenade to throw into the tavern something small, I don't want to injure innocents. Then I want something to go off in the distant vicinity to draw their attention away, like a flash bang, or another explosion. and lastly, do you think you can blow a hole in that wall my friend? The entrance to the alter is just on the other side." He said quickly, drawing up his cloak in the growing dusk.
He checked his weapons, and turned to Shadow. "Once this little ordeal is started, it's up to you and I to pull cover until they are on the other side. How good are you with your illusions, can you mis direct them if more distraction is needed?" He asked as he helped Tyanno with his bow and quiver...
OCC lets stir up some action, huh?
