[Shadow]

Shadow was leaning against one of the walls near the gates. He had his hood drawn up over his eyes, covering all of his face except for his lower jaw. Many people that passed by him ignored him, but that is what he needed. "the less attention, The better..." A Richly dressed man walked up, and Shadow pushed himself off the wall. Falling into step behind the man, Shadow examined the man's belt. full money pouch... lets hope its silver and gold, not coppers like last time... Producing a small knife out of his sleeve, he reached out and cut the man's purse. Without the man noticing, Shadow slipped away with a handfull of coins. When he got back to his perch on the wall, he resumed leaning against it, after putting his gains into the pouch inside his cloak. he smiled. That feels like mostly gold... good...

[Ariadne]

Ariadne was happily walking around the City Square engulfed in the action around her...well not that there was much really just many peaple walking hurriedly to get to their destination point, a few kids playing here and there. As she was looking around she noticed a hooded figure just leaning casually against the wall his misterious nature intrigued her, yet she was too shy to say something to him.

[Shadow]

He looked up. someone's watching me...putting his hood back, he looked around. it only took on sweep of the crowd to reveal the person's location, and so he slipped away, using the confusion to blend into the crowd. He walked around the square untill he came up behind the person. "Hello there." His tone was low and silky, his voice just above a whisper.

[Ariadne]

As she saw the man disappear in less than a minute she heard a voice behind her which had startled her and made her do a slight jump as she looked back she noticed the same misterious man from the wall. She looked at him warmly and said" Hi there! My name is Ariadne"

[Shadow]

Shadow nodded. "the name's Shadow, pleased to meet you." He cast a glance around and put his hood up over his head again. "Any reasons for staring?" He laughed goodnaturedly. "Simple curiosity im sure."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne responded to "Shadow" saying the pleasure is mine . She then giggled at his question as her cheeck turned a rosy color"You took the words right out of my mouth...simple curiosity it is."

[Shadow]

He shook his head. "youre lucky that your curiosity landed on me and not... lets say... the man behind me right now." Shadow moved to the side, and the short man behind him that was about to try and cut his cloak stumbled forward, right into Shadow's boot. the man flew back, and landed with a heavy thud. Shadow walked over to the now unconcious man and searched the man for money. It didnt take much searching to reveal two fat purses on the inside of the man's tunic. He held them up. "Ariadne come here. Tell me, would you say that these pouches are full of Gold, Silver, or Coppers? here, feel their weight." He held one of the pouches out. "What do you think?"

[Ariadne]

As Ariadne looked in shock at what just happened before her eyes she walked forward shadow and brought her hand forward as Shadow dropped the pouch upon her hand. She thought hard and said "Is it silver?" Ariadne said more as a question than as a answer.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "Wrong. I wish it were. That bag is full of coppers. and maybe even some steel chips if we are lucky." He laughed. "now. The one im holding, feel how much heavyer it is?" he dropped it into her hand slowly. "That is the feel of gold. but there are, im guessing, only about five pieces of gold in that, and they arent even coin." He reached out his hand and took the bag back. "there are somethings in here that feel like neither coins nor almost anything ive ever felt in a pouch before." He opened the pouch, and his eyes widened. "this was no petty theif! maybe we should move to someplace less busy for a minute, so i can show you the contents of this bag." he looked up at her. very discreetly, he pulled something out of the bag, and palm down, placed it into her hand. It was one of the many diamonds in the bag. "Interesting, Eh?"

[Ariadne]

"I guess you can say that, So Where shall we go?"Ariadne replyed to Shadow. Ariadne wondered where Shadow knew so much about this matter...Was he a thief himself?..she thought but then shook that thought away he was too kind atleast to me he is..she thought.

[Shadow]

Shadow looked up at her face. "Yes I am a theif, but only because my childhood forced me to be one." He laughed. "Somewhere that is relatively free of people, and a place with enough room to swing a sword or a stave if need arises." he tied the bag shut and placed it in his cloak pocket. standing up, he stretched. "you can keep that by the way. It's a pure diamond. do you know any relatively safe places around here?"

[Ariadne]

Ariadne looked up at Shadow as she was wrapped with guilt for thinking such a thing. and she maneged to reply an "oh, I really dont know much about Averan..I know just as much as the next person...Im new around here. and thanks for the diamond" As she hugged him

[Shadow]

He smiled and hugged her back. "no big deal, espicially because you helped me get it." He let go and looked at her. "You say you're new to this place? Well, so am i, but its so much easyer to steal here than in the floating city, that so far i like it." He looked around. "An my memory of the floating city is scant, so maybe we could go somewhere in the countryside." He shrugged. "Or, we could stay here."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne wondered and asked.."How did I help you get it??" Ariadne smiled "Well I only been to Aesir twice to the library and the garden and In the garden there was only a couple of people..So that should be somewhat countryish and discreet." Ariadne suggested

[Shadow]

Shadow nodded. "Allright, lets go there. You'll have to lead the way, as i do not remember the way to or around there." He laughed. "its been such a long time..."
