Evee came into the Tavern, only alcohol on the mind. Her nearly transparent skirt and braw top made all the old drunkards stare as she walked up to the bar. She was sure that drinking wouldn't solve her problems and only make them worse. But at least she could forget the pain for a while. Her wound had healed up from that nasty encounter with some thieves a while back, it was only a light scar on the side of her stomach. Evee was 21 yrs. old now, legal drinking age so she wasn't going to get so piss face drunk she had to be carried home. But she just might try and drink her problems away tonight. Evee sat at the bar and looked the bartender square in the eyes. Her face showed no emotion. "A cup of rum with warm milk and honey..." Evee said straight up, the barteneder nodded understanding. Evee waited for her drink calmly, thinking about when she met her first love here in the Tavern. But he was long gone now...

Aleph was just passing through Araven again. This time he'd decided to stop in at the tavern for a drink. When he entered, he spotted a familiar face and headed over. "Good evening to you, Miss Natalia," he said softly as he took a seat next to her. "Bartender, a glass of mead, it you please." The drink was less bitter than ale and weaker than wine. All in all, a good combination. Turning back to Evee, he asked, "Has the wound healed fully?" The last time he'd seen her had been at that banquet at the castle.

Evee only lifted her gaze slightly when Aleph spoke and gave him a small smile. You could tell she was holding it back. "Ah, Good evening kind sir Aleph." Evee said in a low sensual voice. She stared down at the wooden bare and admired the many patterns in the wood made by nature. Evee listened to the question about her wound. "It's only a light scar now..." Evee said letting the words roll off her tongue smoothly. She'd show him the scar but she already had too many big eyes watching her every breath. The bartender slid Evee's mug to her and she nodded to him before taking a swig of her rum with a touch of warm milk & honey. It wasn't your average drink but it suited Evee just fine. She'd be able to drink as much as she wanted without having disgusting breath.

Aleph's drink came sliding towards him shortly after Evee recieved hers. He took a sip of the sweet drink and placed it back in front of him. He then flipped a pair of gold coins to the barkeeper. "For mine and the young lady's," he said. He took another sip of his drink before returning his attention to the woman next to him. "I never did find out before, what is it you do? Miss Oni mentioned something about you helping her, are ou a healer or something?" he asked. It wasn't really anything he was dying to know, he was just trying to break the ice a little. While it was true that things were probably more friendly between them than they might have been had he not found her that night, they still weren't exactly the closest of friends.

Evee set her mug down as she watched the gold coins flicker on the bar. She slowly brought her ruby eyes to his, surprised a bit. "Thank you....You didn't have to do that you know..." Evee paused. "I plan on gettin' good and hammered tonight anyway..." Seconds after she said that all the old drunkards went WOO HOO! She rolled her eyes at them and then looked back at her drink. "....I helped Miss Oni because she made sure I survived some years ago....My parents were murdered in their beds and I was taken here to Avaren by my family's escort...So you see, I owe her my life. A seven year old couldn't have raised herself...." Evee stated simply letting him hear her story.

The drunks' cry made Aleph turn around. He gave each man in the bar a level stare until they looked down or away. The fact that Evee was an acquaintance of his notwithstanding, no woman deserved to be harassed like that. He kept an eye on the men he thought were most likely to start up again as he listened to the young lady beside him. When she'd finished, he turned towards her again and said, "If you're going to get hammered, perhaps it's better to have someone else paying. You don't want to drink too much and get sick, do you?" He took another sip of his mead. It could have benefited from a few more weeks in the cellar, but it certainly wasn't bad.
Looking into his mug, Aleph picked up speaking again. "I see. That certainly answers the question of why a mage lives in Avaren. It was very kind of Miss Oni to take you in." Something about her story piqued his interest. Why had Miss Oni taken her in again? Her parents were murdered? "Why, if I may ask, were your parents killed?" he asked quietly. He would understand if she chose not to answer. After all, it was likely a bit of a touchy subject for her.

Evee took another sip of her drink before she answered his question."Why were my parents murdered? That's what I'm still trying to find out...." It was true, Evee didn't know herself. All she remembered was being awakened in the middle of the night and hearing screams, then she was escorted to Avaren where the family thought she would be safe. Though about three years ago an assassin came for her head, she hasn't seen him since. Evee rolled her eyes at the letcherous drunks around the bar and then took another long swig of her drink. She set the mug down then put one leg over the other, the other leg rested on the stool and her foot pushed against the metal bar at the bottom of the stool.
Evee looked at Aleph trying to put her next sentence in the right words. "Why I think my parents were killed, is because some of the people in my home town were afraid of change. My parents were king and queen of Meapole. I guess someone had different views on how they ruled...." Evee said looking down to the floor. Her drink was starting to kick in and she was feeling good and tight, she left all her problems behind temporarily.

"Interesting..." Aleph murmured. The idea that Evee's parents would have such radical ideas that someone wanted them dead intrigued the warrior. He would have to see if he could learn more about these people. "So, if your parents were royalty, wouldn't that make you at least a noble in exile?" he asked thoughtfully. In a way he hoped not. According to some rules of society, it would be below Evee's station to associate with a warrior, if that were the case. And he was rather enjoying the time he was spending with her. He sipped at his mead again. As there was still over half the mug left, the drink definitely wasn't affecting him yet.. Heck, it would take at least 2 full glasses of this stuff to get him noticeably drunk. He preferred to stay sober tonight, though.

Evee smirked at Aleph with a look of playfull-ness. "Nah, I'm more an Orphan princess....But I hardly have the time to think of myself as such..." Evee paused, "I'm just Evee Natalia now, no one knows who I really am anymore. 'cept you now...." Evee said as she faced the last bit of her drink and placed the mug back on the bar. " I'll have another Bartender." Evee said completely greedy. She liked to drink on occasion, but this is the second time this week. It's crazy how that happens.
Evee looked down at her circular weapons, they were hand made a few years back by a kind blacksmith. She told him she needed good weapons because an assassin was after her, he customized these weapons to match her agility. Light weight and sharp, very handy. Evee enjoyed Aleph's presence, he brought a certain calm to the room. She'd never forget how he saved her life. "Pardon me kind Aleph, I'd like to know how I can pay you back for such kind deeds." Evee asked curiously. She waited for her next drink to come.

If Aleph were as lecherous as the drunks in the room, he would have had an answer instantly. However, he was not. That didn't prevent the thought from occurring to him, of course, but he knew better than to voice it or even allow it to linger. "There's no need for you to pay me back," he replied. He couldn't imagine anyone who would have left her to die that night he met her, and he thought it only polite to pay for her drinks. The fact that he was somewhat attracted to her increased his willingness to pay. Even though he was picking up her tab tonight, he did not toss anymore coins on the bar. The 2 golds he'd given the bartender earlier were sure to be enough to get several more drinks. Not that he'd let her get too drunk. As much as he liked her, he did not want to carry her home tonight, try to sober her up, or have her vomit on him.

The barteneder slid her another drink, Evee only smiled when Aleph said he didn't have to pay her back. She still didn't feel right about it. About an hour later she had 3 more drinks and she was done, if she had anymore she'd be extremely drunk. She was good and tight right now. Just how she wanted to be. "Aleph...Are, you married? You are a really really nice guy...You-you should be married..." Evee asked sounding a bit sauced as she was. Her hair played as a curtain around her flushed cheeks. The dark black locks shaded the blush a bit. She stayed silent though waiting for his answer, the bar was emptying out and only about 10 people besides them were in the Tavern.

Aleph had watched Evee carefully as she'd downed the drinks. He had barely finished his mead before she finished her final drink of the evening, and he'd had to toss the bartender a silver penny to cover her last drink. He was glad she seemed to have stopped. If she hadn't he'd have to cut her off. She definitely looked very drunk to him.
"No, I'm not married. I thank you for your opinion, though," he replied. He'd never really had much interest in married. Usually he was too busy farming or fighting. On the few times he'd met a woman that interested him, he'd refrained from getting involved because of his profession as soldier for hire. He didn't think it fair for any woman to have a husband who risked his life so often.

Evee's eyes widened when she heard his response. "Really? Wow. I thought you were for sure...." Evee then scratched her head feeling a little itch there and she hopped off her stool, landing firmly on her feet. She turned her head to look at Aleph, her hair swooshed around her shoulder. "I think I'll go to the lake, I'd like for you to join me Sir il'Aranroth...." Evee said with glazed over eyes. She had a faint smirk on her face before she turned back around and leaned back against the bar. She'd wait to see of Aleph wouldn't mind accompanying her.

Aleph stood slowly. No need to move quickly right now, he was planning on sticking around for a few days. "I shall indeed join you. But there is no "Sir" in front of my name," he answered. "I'm a mercenary, not a knight," he added. Evee's smirk did not escape his notice, but it did confuse him slightly. Perhaps later he could find out what it was for. He offered her his hand. As drunk as she was, he was sure she'd be at least a little unsteady. And even if she wasn't, he would not object to holding her hand as they walked to the lake.

OOC: Awe IC: Evee just giggled slightly when he corrected her, she was too sauced to know how her pronunciation was. " I think you should be a knight, then you could be my proctector. That's why 'sir' is good for you...." Evee said to him with her eyes gleaming. Evee saw him offer his hand and she slowly put her hand in his, pushing herself off the bar. Her hands were still soft and delicate to the touch, even though she was a fighter. A mage had to protect herself. Evee's smile faded for a moment as she looked at his hand holding hers. She looked up at him then away, smiling a bit. Maybe it was because she was hammered or maybe it was her true feelings. Either way Evee was having a good time with Aleph. "Let's go shall we?" Evee asked as she started walking first, though she stumbled slightly as she walked. The rest of the people in the Tavern watched hungrily, good thing she wasn't alone. "Whoa, I'm not haveing four mugs of rum mixed with warm milk & honey anymore..." Evee said in a low voice but she still kinda laughed.
