Mazus walked into the tavern, which was beginning to become a nightly ritual for the Militia. Most of his extra money went for drinking, but unfortunately for him, he only had little extra money. He saw a open stool at the bar's counter, and sat down on it. Mazus usually sat in one of the stools by the counter, mostly because he got his drinks wen he wanted them. He didn't had to get up, and head over to the counter. Today, Mazus had no money to spend, but he always thought better in the Tavern, even though the noise level could get high, and occasionally there is a bar fight. Mazus never partook in a bar fight, but he would if the numbers a significantly on even.
Mazus came here, to think about, what path he should take, when and if he gets up to the position Footman. To his knowledge, there is four paths to follow from there. One of the paths were for people who used bow and arrows. So, for Mazus, that was out of the question. He never used a bow in his life, and he didn't want to start now. Mazus also never used a spear, or a lance, so going down the path of Spearman also was out of the question. So basically, his path was set out for him, that he had to become a Squire. But where to go from there? Mazus asked himself. He tried to remember all of his fellow warriors, that were high ranked. He asked a lot of them, how they got to there position, and what is above there positions. One, who was a paladin, said there was two paths he could follow, but Paladins were trained by priests.
Mazus isn't religious one bit, so he knew he wouldn't like that path one bit. So, his path was laid out for him, he had o follow the position of a knight, which he had no problem with. Mazus turned around, and looked at the people in the bar. Why didn't I become a blacksmith instead? It is so much easier than this warrior thing, he thought to himself.

Ariadne walked into the tavern. She was rather thirsty so she came to drink something mostlikely it would be Gin. She walked up to an open stool at the bar's counter where she sat down to what appeared to be a Warrior she nodded at him as to acknoledge his presence and ordered herself an Gin. She then turned around her seat and leaned her elbows on the counter and studied her surroundings.

Mazus heard someone order Gin, and thought to himself, God I wish I had some money. I would go for just about any drink this bar has to offer. He then noticed that the person that ordered the Gin, was sitting by him. He watched as other people drank, and talk to people they were sitting by. I should do something else, but sulk around until something happens, he thought to himself. He looked to his left, slightly smiled, and said, "Hello." Mazus wasn't that shy, but he also wasn't the most talkative person. He often avoided talking to people he didn't from the Warrior's class. The reason for that, was he only trusted those who he knows that would sacrifice their life by fighting as a Warrior.
He hated magic, because it often seems like they are hiding behind their powers. Being able to make dragons appear, and attack, made Mazus sick. But, he also knew that he wouldn't mind having mages around, in his own army, because they are powerful. But, for Mazus to get an army, he'll need a town, and if he follows the track he is right now, he'll never have the money to buy another house. Once again looking to his left, he said, "So, what do you do? Are you a warrior, or a towns-person?" Mazus asked the women.

Ariadne was into deep thought. About nothing in particular really. As her thoughts were interupted by someone speaking to her. Ariadne turned to the right to the fellow that was sitting next to her. "Hi!" Ariadne responded to his greeting as she smiled at him. She was still waiting for her drink. So she might as well talk to somebody she thought. She heard his question and shook her head. "Im none of the above..Im a mage" Ariadne responded to him. "Your a warrior, I assume? Ariadne asked him. "He must be a warrior, why else wouldnt hehave mentioned mages." Ariadne thought to herself

"Ah, a Mage, interesting," Mazus responded, but he thought to himself, How did I end up picking one of the only Mages in the entire village, to talk with? He didn't want to be rude, and talk hate to the Mage, or ignore her entirely, mostly because it was of his nature not to. Also, he didn't want to cause a rift between the Warriors and the Mages, like there once were. But, those were stories, not facts, so he didn't really want to take the risk. He always thought to himself, that if they were always on good terms, they wouldn't be living separately.
"Yes I am a Warrior. I am only Militia right now, but I'll go up the ranks, until it kills me," he told her. "I am inspiring to follow the path as a knight, and hopefully make it up to the top. But that is a long ways away," he added. Mazus put his head in his hands, for a few seconds. Trying to think what to say, but he couldn't. This is why he isn't talkative, he never finds something good to say, and when he did, it was usually to late. Then it hit him, what to ask. "So, what powers in magic, do you inspire to have?Basically what I am asking, is what type of Mage do you want to end up as?" Mazus asked her. Not that an answer would give him any clue to what type of magic she uses, unless she explained it. But, if she didn't, he had another question to ask.

Tallice grabbed a glass from up above and poured Ariadne some Gin. She looked at the gentleman and smiled "Care for anything?" she asked as she handed Ariadne the glass. "Here you are love."

"No thanks," Mazus replied to the Bartender. The truth was, that he was getting to the point that he would kill someone for a drink, but he knew he could keep under control. Mazus was going to make a tab, so the money he owed after buying some drinks, would go into that, but he knew he would be digging a deep hole financially, if he did that. He watched the Bartender hand over the Gin to the Mage, and he turned his head slightly. Mazus watched as other people drank, which was making him a little depressed, but he knew that this could be a good self control lesson for him.
Mazus yawned, and and turned back to the Mage. Why are there Mages in the Kingdom? This is that Warriors Kingdom, not the Mages floating city. We leave them alone, but why can't they do the same? He wouldn't ask the Mage that, because she'll find out that he doesn't like Mages that much. So, he kept that quiet. If I plan on making a town, where both Warriors and Mages are allowed, I'll need to learn to like Mages, he told himself. Maybe I should ask her, 'in the rare occasion that I make a village, would you like to live there, and use your magic to help defend it?'

Ariadne thanked the bartender. She then took a sip of her gin. She stared at the warrior he seemed as if something was eating him up on the inside. Ariadne smiled as he answered her question. "I knew it." She thought to herself. "Wow your very determined to become a knight. If youre willing to die to get there." Ariadne responded to him. Ariadne really didnt really care much about the differences between mages and knights. "The branch of magic I use is the power of the elements. So its quite clear that I would like to become a Elementalist." Ariadne told the stranger.
"Well my name is Ariadne." Ariadne told him as she turned to him and brought her hand so he can shake it.

Mazus shook her hand, and the introduced himself, "My name is Mazus. Yes I am one of those knights, but I would like to believe that all of my fellow Warriors would risk their lives, also." He did believed that if you were to join an army, you would normally risk your life in dangerous positions. Elements, so like fire, wind, water, and everything else, thought to himself, and then added, So she is learning to manipulate fire, and the other elements. That's impressive, but dangerous to anyone who make her mad. He thought to himself for a little, and then noticed that he knew what type of magic an elementalist has. But, then again, he could be wrong, and the name gave it away.
"There is not a lot of things that deals with magic in the Kingdom, so what brings you here?" Mazus asked Ariadne. Maybe she has a good reason, for why she was here. Maybe she wants a village, where both Mages, and Warriors can live together, he thought to himself. Mazus knew that it was some what unusual for Mages to be in the Kingdom, but it wasn't unheard of. He brushed his long black hair away from his eyes, and yawned, even though he didn't felt tired.

Ariadne smiled at Mazus. "Well I guess all you have is hope. Hope they would do that for you as well." Ariadne responded to him. "I know theres not alot of magic....Bu t i guess I wanted to explore a little.. In Aesir its really calm and quiet. But here is quite the contratry. Theres always something to do and theres always commotion." Ariadne responded him. "Let me get you a drink to take away the sleepiness. What do you prefer scotch, mead or a whiskey?" Ariadne asked him.

"You don't have to, but Whiskey is fine," Mazus said quietly. He preferred Whiskey over most other drinks, but he would drink any drink at this point. He was happy that she was nice, he never got along with a Mage before, but than again, he hasn't met many. God, that will suck if a war breaks out. I would have a hard time killing someone who offered to buy me a drink, but if it is what I have to do for the Kingdom, I have no choice, he thought to himself. "Lately, the Kingdom has been quieter than usual, but I wouldn't be surprised to see something happen," said Mazus. He actually would be surprised. He just didn't want to make the Kingdom sound boring to someone who offered to buy him Whiskey. Mazus didn't want them to leave the town.
"I've never been to Aesir, so I can't compare it to anything in Avaren," Mazus said quietly, as he thought about the floating city. He always wondered what it was like, but never racked up the nerves to visit the City of the Mages. Mazus didn't know the current status between Avaren and Aesir.

Ariadne ordered his drink."It should be here shortly" Ariadne told him. "Its okay..I want to." Ariadne said with a smile. "Well...Aesir is really nice. Very well kept."Ariadne told him. She wasnt going to go into details shes spend so much time there lately studying in that library and trying to perfect her magic. She didnt really want to talk about it. She would rather talk about something else. "Why wouldnt you be surprised if something happened?" Ariadne asked him curiosity getting the best of her. She didnt know much about Avaren..So she wouldt know what would be the difference if something happened now to something that happened in the past.

"Thanks," Mazus said, referring to her buying him a drink. He couldn't be any more happy, but he did feel bad that she did that for him. He didn't want to be a bother, so he said, "If you have a favor, come and ask me. Whatever it is, that isn't against the Kingdom, I would do it for you." He meant it too. He kept his promises, and always expects the same from other people too. Aesir seems like a peaceful place, Mazus thought to himself. He liked peace and quiet, mostly because he is usually quiet himself. The noise in the Barracks was unbearable when he first came there, but he is starting to grow use to it.
"I think something is about to happen, because we are due. Nothing interesting happened lately, and it is beginning to become boring. Sometimes, I hope something bad happens, so I can do my job," Mazus told Ariadne. He knew that he shouldn't wish for bad things, but he did so sometimes.

Ariadne smiled at him. "your welcome." She then took a sip of her gin. Savoring the taste. She then heard him speak. When she finished she nodded. "I respect that from you. Being both loyal to your kigdom but also to those that have done you right." Ariadne told him. Ariadne is also loyal to her friends. She would rather die than betray them. So loyalty meant alot to her. "You shouldnt be so pessimistic." Ariadne told him. "Just because its getting boring, it doesnt mean that something bad will happen, maybe something good will happen too." Ariadne explained to him.

"You're right, something good could happen, but it doesn't seem like there is a lot of things that would be good, that seems probable to happen. There is just a lot more bad things that could happen, than good things, so if something were to happen, it would most likely be bad," Mazus said. This beats most other conversations he had at this tavern. This was probably the only intelligent conversation he had here, in the Tavern. Gibberish was the most usual language, for some of the people here, and sadly, Mazus was getting good understanding it.
"So, what it your views on the majority of the Warriors and Mages residing in two different cities? I feel, if there is a chance of war, that it could be a good thing, but I wouldn't mind another city, that could have both Mages and Warriors. It would make one hell of an army," Mazus said. The power of Mages, and Warriors alone is great, but combined, it would make one great force, at least, that is what Mazus thinks.
