Shadow walked into the Tavern, instantly disliking the place. making his way over to one of the tables in the back, he propped his chair in the corner, facing outwards. positioning himself so he could observe all people entering and leaving.

Getting thirsty, he got up to walk to the bar. remembering that he did not drink alchohol, he returned to his seat and pulled out a hip flask. taking a drink from it, he lowered his hood and broadened his visual plane. He looked around for Io."now where is she... Unless she ran into trouble, she should have gotten here by now..."

Io was late it had almost been 25 mintues when she walked through the tavern doors. She had run into trouble but she managed to get out of it. She was stopped by a man who recognized Pikea. Let's just say...things were taken care of. As she stepped the strong scent of alchohol filled senses. Io was a drinker. She mainly got smashed to prove a point. She never backed from a challenge.

Pikea jumped of her shoulders and did his usual song and dance for money. Io watched for a moment then looked around for Shadow. On her way she found an empty mug on the floor. She stumbled over to a table and bumped it. "Sorry, sorry!", she said then walked away. In her hand was a full mug of beer. While she bumped the table she also switched her empty gass for a patron's full one.

Then, she noticed her friend at the back of the room. She made her way over to the table and took a seat. "Hey Shades. How are we doing!?".

Shadow nodded. "Im good. You ran into trouble im guessing?" He shook his head. "well, Its no matter. If people come in here, the only thing that sets us apart from the rest of the crowd is that we have a red monkey." he looked at the full mug in her hand. "you are a drinker? That was a very nice trick you played on that drunk man over there. He must be confused to no end." Shadow laughed. leaning back in his chair, he put his hands behind his head. "So. What happened that day. After I left you for dead. I remember that you, me and..." He closed his eyes. "It's been so long... I dont remember his name..." shaking his head, He continued. "Well, the three of us had sucsessfully tripped the trap. thinking that all of the men had been buried, we began to walk away, not even caring to look back. then, there was the whistle of an arrow, and it hit or friend right between the eyes, killing him. you and I ran, until anoter arrow caught your shoulder. I thought it had caught your chest, and kept going, untill the last arrow stuck my leg." He shook his head. "I made my way back to the village, where some kind housemaid cleaned my wound. then, as soon as I could, I ran away, and found myself here." He opened his eyes. "At least, thats what I remember." Looking at her, he nodded. "What happened to you?"

Shadow didn't run into any trouble which was good. When mentioned Pikea all she did was smile and take a drink. Then Shadow pointed out how she had pulled one over one the man. Io grinned and laughed with him. Io glanced over and the man was stupefied. After their laughter calmed Shadow brought up the day that Io couldn't forget. Even though she wanted to.

Shadow had forgotten their companion's name but Io didn't but in and remind him. She just listened. After Shadow finished she didn't answer right away. She cleared her throat and began, "After the arrow hit I fell to the ground and passed out. There are a few things that I assumed. Everyone else must have though I was dead because I was left where I was. And I thought you were dead. I woke up to the sound of Marcus, the clan leader, if you remember him. ". She stopped for a second, "I was actually scared out of my mind. I was covered in so much blood. But Marcus helped me get better and I trained with him for awhile and after some interesting things... I found myself here". She looked up to her friend, "Shadow we were both so young, I was still a child.". She stopped herself. Io didn't want to go on.

((heh.. shadow dosent remember anything from his youth, with the exceptions of the ramdom, torturous dreams that he has...but they dont help much...))

Shadow shook his head in confusion. "Marcus? Ugh... curse my memory, damn thing rememmbers the stuff that i dont need, and yet I cant even remember my father's name..." He looked away. "Covered in blood eh? thats only happened to me once." Shadow closed his eyes and spoke to himself. "...chao concordio..." Looking up at Io, he nodded. "I know. I was only twelve, but i had a confidence streak that was more than a castle wide. I dont remember, Did we get them all? I didnt really notice anyone except for the archer." he shook his head. "I look back on that event with a scant memory, but an extreme regret..."
