Verdan eyed the man who began his retreat away from the pair. It was clear that Mira was happy to see the newcomer, as the newcomer was happy to see her. Not wishing to intrude on the reunion of two people who obviously haven't seen each other in a while, Verdan decided to be the kind soul that he is and let the two of them catch up. In any case, the man was willing to do the same for him, an action that lightened up Verdan's thoughts instantly.
He nodded to the stranger as a greeting and as an acknowledgment of his words and straightened up from the pew alongside Mira in one swift motion, letting go of her hands abruptly in the process, sending the coldness of the chapel running through them once more. "No-no. Sir, please. It is obvious to me that you wish to catch up on things with her, and even a blind man could see that the two of you mare happy to see each other. I do not wish to rob that of you. Here." Verdan gestured at the spot where he was a second ago. "Have a seat. I shall leave the pair of you in each others' company."
Verdan turned around and marched towards the exit of the chapel. "I really must be going myself, 'tis getting late. Good day." Verdan spoke the words casually as he took his first few steps. However, as he turned away from the pair, his expression darkened several extreme notches as unclean thoughts coursed through his mind. Anger, hatred, destruction. Who the hell was this Lord Bryant anyways?! And who the hell was this newcomer that had barged into the middle of his interaction with Mira?!
Verdan shook his head and took several deep breaths as he tried to calm himself. He opened and closed the chapel doors with extra care not to slam them. However, as soon as the doors had shut, a crash and an explosion was heard from the outside. Something between a gargle and a scream emitted itself from Verdan's throat. Why?! With a final wave of rage and despair, he trudged down the wet street, not bothering to but up his hood to protect himself from the torrential rains pouring from the skies.

"well, that didn't go as well as I would've liked..." Alezand trailed off. Had two months out on the battlefield change him that much. Surely not, for Alezand had always been on the run, fighting from day to day to accomplish his destiny, uphold his beliefs and just to stay alive. He was a hunted man by the evils that were closing in on this land. And Alezand was supposedly one of the only one s that could stand in the way of this growing darkness. Even if that was true, had the life on the front effected him some way, it would only get stronger. Though Alezand and Tyanno had returned to Avaren, that was true, it was in dire cause. The battle still rages, much unnoticed by the people here, and the lines have drawn close to the city borders. Alezand had fallen back on this city to gather more items and people. He would not let anything befall upon this city and its folk so long as he still had a breath to lift his sword. But the worst part was that this was no conventenal battle. This was a true battle between light and dark. the creatures and people that Alezand and the others faced on the front are virtualy invisable. Oh, one can see them, let one assured. But only if you know what you are looking for or if it is already too late for you. "So what seems to be the distress, is there anything I can do?" Yes, being back to common deeds and missions could be good to rid his mind of the trouble to come.

A few different emotions crossed Alezand’s face, and then he spoke, having made his decision after assessing the situation. “No, you don’t really have to leave…” Mira started, but was interrupted by Verdan. Her friend stood up, letting go of her hands abruptly and making the reason she was here loom closer again, a dark shadow above her head that she couldn’t make go away.
Verdan, his voice casual and light, although Mira could sense the underlying tension, nodded to them both and turned his back to them, leaving the church before she could say another word or ask him to stay. Wincing as she heard a loud noise from outside the door, mixed with the pounding rain, she realized that Verdan hadn’t been too happy at all. Not happy at all. But, there was nothing she could do about it at the moment.
“Yes,” Mira agreed after a moment’s hesitation, taking her gaze away from the closed doors and turning back to Alezand. “I don’t think he’s very happy at the moment…” Trailing off slowly, Mira listened as Alezand asked her what the distress was. Realizing that her eyes were still red from crying, she knew that saying nothing was wrong would be an easy lie to see through. “Not much,” she settled with instead, sighing softly. “I-I’m just… engaged.”

wasn't exspecting that one. Surprise as well as curiosity came over him as he took in this news. Why would that trouble her... unless. "Obviously this is not what you want, was it aranged?" Alezand really could not condone arranged marriages, forcing two souls to join against their will, taking away their freedom of choice and chance to find real love. true love was a rare enough thing these days to be smothering it with alliances and political friendships. And that was all an arranged marriage was. A political gain for one though the exploitation of their childeren. It angered Alezand, but he quickly dispelled it. Anger was not useful emotion right now. No, this required a cool and calculating mind. "please if there is anything you need..."

Mira listened to Alezand, and resigned herself to a simple nod of the head in answer. “Yes,” she muttered after a moment to accompany her nod. “It was. And it most certainly is not what I want.” Just thinking of Lord Bryant absolutely disgusted her, and she couldn’t understand why her parents would wish such a horrible life upon her. True, she refused to be courted by any of the suitors they wanted her to meet, and she most certainly refused to wed any of them. They had probably just given up and decided that if they didn’t arrange a marriage, then she would never be married. That wasn’t true… she was just waiting for the right person to come along. Everyone had a soul mate, after all.
“No, I don’t need anything.” she added, once again, after a momentary pause where she collected her scattered thoughts. “It’s my life, and I need to deal with it myself. I still have time to get out of the marriage.” she added, “I have two months.”

"Well, then, one must plan then. I can understand your distress, but one mustn't lose their head in the face of adversity. You must be cunning and vigilant. Stood your ground and you will figure something out. If you require help, you know where to find Tyanno and I. We will do anything you ask. " he smiled. So many times he seemed to be in this situation. caught in the struggles of virtuosity and morality. Though these were small battles compared to what he faced on the edge of the kingdom, outside these walls, they were still important battles to the people and to the morale of this kingdom. The day one lost their freewill of their own life is a dark day indeed for humanity. And with that, he bowed and and turned on his heel, and strode towards the door...

“Thank you.” Mira replied seriously, a small smile crossing her face at Alezand’s friendship and loyalty. “I’ll keep you both in mind. It’s really nice of you to offer help when you barely even know anything about the situation.” she finished, feeling very grateful toward him and Tyanno. They all barely knew each other, and yet Alezand was quick to offer any assistance possible, as well as give her a warrior-style rundown of what to do.
Bowing his head slightly, and giving her a small smile, he headed toward the doorway. Mira watched him walk away, and as she was left alone once again her eyes started to water. Turning back toward the front of the church she clasped her hands again, slowly mouthing her prayers over and over. Please save me from the rest of my life… show me my true destiny…
