Verdan stood, frozen in his spot. She just... no! They just... they did not just... she just willingly kissed him, thus officially locking in the vows. How could she? With all the tears and the hugging in this very chapel and not wanting to marry this fat piece of jello. That two faced bi-- big liar. A feeling of despair flowed through Verdan's bloodstream. Waves of rage began emitting from his body, sending glass shattering, the walls vibrating and people toppling over. In a final fit of fury, he mage lobbed a disk of energy, razor sharp, enough to slice right through plate mail armor, the best shields and best of all: human flesh, at the pile of guards. Not looking back at whether he hit his mark, the enraged Scholar sprinted to the nearest exit, knocking anyone stupid enough to try and stop him clean out of his way with a nice burst of raw magic. Before anyone could do anything, he was gone.

Screams, shouts, thuds, and the sound of a blade slicing through metal and flesh all filled the chapel. She heard her father shouting, her mother crying, bells tolling, and the pound of feet and someone raced away. Yanking her face as fast as she could away from her husband, she took several steps back and turned… to be faced with carnage. At least ten guards were dead, their body parts lying strewn about as if they had been cut clean in half. One was still alive, choking and drowning in her own blood. Before Mira’s very own eyes, he spluttered and careened over, ending his pain in the only release available, death.
The next several minutes flew by in a blur. Guards raced out the door, probably pursuing Verdan, and her father and Lord Bryant both placed a hand directly on either of her arms, leading her back down the aisle and out of the church. Once outside they ushered her toward the fine white carriage with three horses, two white and one brown, leading it. Glancing down at her dress, Mira’s stomach churned unpleasantly as she realized it was sullied by blood toward the bottom of the full hoop skirts.
Before she could think anything else, she was in the carriage and leaning against the window as the horses started off, obviously intent on getting the heck away from the now desecrated church. Mira was in such shock she didn’t even realize that Lord Bryant was sitting next to her, or that he was talking. She was in such shock she didn’t even see Verdan in the distance. She was in such shock that she, for once, acted how her mother wanted her to, and passed out.
((Verdan, next thread is at the home section. If it's not done soon, then it will be.))
