Twice more the warrior struck, both times from within the very grasp of Alexius gauntleted hand. This warrior could be commended for fighting spirit, at the very least; and blatant refusal to give up no matter the situation.
Alexius bent his knees slightly, pivoting a few inches as he did so both to aside the blade and prevent it from striking a potentially mortal wound. Of course, focusing on preventing himself from being slain had cost him, and he felt an explosion of pain as Alezand's second sword pierced through the point on his wrist where separate plates of armor met, which allowed him freedom of movement yet also provided this specific vulnerability.
Yet the warrior had not resisted being thrown, instead adding to the force of his toss by kicking off Alexius, who jerked his arm upwards as the warrior parted from him. This move left the warriors sword both pincered between separate plates of armor and anchored somewhat from being lodged in bone, giving him the option of releasing his weapon or getting his arm torn from it's socket.

Releasing his sword as he executed his push off, timing it with the paladins release of his ankle, Alezand arched his back and somersaulted with the combined momentum down to the ground. Coming down hard on one knee, though, he had to shake the shock from his body quickly from pushing off and down so hard. He had left his prize weapon lodged in the arm of his aggressor, and he had to move fast.
in more of the means of tactics, rather than take advantage of the wounded and at the very second, unarmed soldier, Alezand stepped up and made a swift lateral slash at the entrapped swords hilt, loosing it and caught it as it spun off in his free right hand. He stepped back quickly and formed his traditional two sword guard, his left side facing the opponent, guarded by his short sword out and across that front, while the right hand held the graceful curve of the long sword high overhead, point toward the enemy, slanted down.
His front and high were covered and he was in position to cover his flanks with either blade with the extension of either arm respectively. And for a moment, he stood, poised, glaring at the concealed face before him with total calm and determination. His breath heavy but controlled... OCC: hope I didn't go too far with this, but trying my best here to stay in the fight... can modify if too much.

Alexius, now unarmed and with a very much armed opponent standing between himself and his weapon, was not too greatly enraptured by his faith not to know when he was beaten. So it was that he held his good hand out in a gesture of submission, gaining a gasp form several onlookers, even as the sound of weapons being drawn was heard from others.
Stepping foreword, Vidar held up a hand to halt those who might have rushed to their defeated champion's aid. While it was apparent that Vidar was vastly disappointed in the turnout, he managed to keep a straight face while he turned to Alexius to speak, "Get out, go find yourself a healer," he spat out at him.
"You." he said, pointing to Alezand, "I am a man of honor, one who does only the justice of the lord. You have won and thus are absolved from all crimes against Avaren." he said, gesturing to a scribe to record all the events that had transpired, "Furthermore, I need a new captain of the guard, as my old one seems to have run off with wherever the former queen has gotten herself. I believe you would fit the bill quite nicely."

Alezand slowly lowered his guard, but did not take the paladin's hand. He was rather wary of tricks here, and he was severely outnumbered should anything happen. As Vidar stepped forward and addressed them both, Alezand remained still and impassive. "Your Captain? As prestigious a title and a honor in its self to be captain of the guard, I have not made peace with you. I do not condone the mistreatment or imprisonment of magi. If such policy were to change, I may consider it. But for now, let us leave here neither enemy nor ally. I have faith, as I have shown you, but I have faith in the fact that all are equal people in this world.
He sheathed the short sword but kept longsword out, lowered in rest. He simply stared back at the priest. They were now neutral, as far as he was concerned. The position was very tempting. But he could never defend a regime that persecuted a people without just cause. It was totally against his principals and against the code of the Order he represented. But if Vidar was willing to go this far to absolve Alezand when he knew that the warrior supported magical folk, maybe he would be willing to... adjust some of his other rulings.
He nodded toward Vidar, and stepped over to Alexis. He sheathed the brilliant silver blade and reached for his hip pouch on his belt. He pulled out a herbal anesthetic and some dressing and preceded to treat the former foe's wound. The bleeding was quickly stopped with a pressure bandage. As Alezand worked his addressed Vidar. "I may be of service to you, only if you show more compassion to others. Being a man of such faith, that should not be too hard for you. I am a last remaining member of a lost militia of freedom fighters. Our ranks included both regular warriors and gifted mages. We only strived to protect all people, near and far, both magic and mundane. We always appear in the hour of need. Should you prove to be a worthy leader, my allies and I may come your way to augment your forces and add to to your military strategic mind. Until then, I will be around, hidden, seeking out Darkness where it lays and destroying it a bit at a time. Should you need our services, send a message. I will know..."

"You may have been absolved form all current crimes, but that does not grant you immunity from the law of Avaren," Vidar replied coldly, "You would do well to remember that, and silence yourself before uttering anything that might get yourself condemned all over again. Your arrogance, too, would do you well to be kept in check."
Vidar was furious with Alezand, wanting nothing more to order his execution on the spot, yet he had such a gathering of followers and had already absolved him of his crimes. He simply couldn't afford to lose all the support that gave him the might he now held.
"You refuse my offered seat of power, very well, I now rescind that offer. You will leave Avaren now, I shall see to it you are escorted from the city," he said, beckoning a slew of guards to his side, "Pray that we do not meet again, for next time I shaln't be as kind as I am now."
