Alezand was sitting at the table, going over maps and and strategies regarding the past battles and his predictions of the next outbreaks. The sun was shining through the newly cleaned windows, one open letting the fresh air in. Tyanno was off on a new adventure somewhere in the lands outlying. So he was home alone, back to usual business, and it didn't feel quite so bad. One could say that he had been running from the past events of those few months before. But, he knew that he couldn't really run. He just needed to get away from the horrid images. There wasn't much of a force opposing the Darkness. A couple bands of elves, Alezand and Tyanno, a tribe of mages who foresaw the growing evil and a band of roving knights who also spotted the signs in their lands. None were united except in their love of peace, freedom and their hatred of evil and destruction. These were not Alezands men, though he did take leadership positions on missions. His people were supposedly all but extinct. He being the last of the Allaine Order, he needed to rebuild the code of the order. But it was proving a difficult task. Many had forgotten the stories of the roving Allaine that would show up when a village needed them the most. And Alezand had grown content with being a sole militia man, sowing good deeds here and there. Adding his man power whenever there was trouble. He stood up to get something to eat from the kitchen, pondering whether to take abreak and head to the pub, one of his old haunts that he hadn't frequented since their return from the field. He made it half way to the ajacent room when their was a a scuffle and a thud behind him. Spinning quickly, with his hand on his hilt, Alezand lowered his gaze upon an elegant red tailed hawk. The bird stared him down nonchalantly, it fierce eyes burning a hole through him. He slowly approached the bird when his eyes fell upon a tightly rolled scroll tied to the raptor's left leg. The bird just watched as he undid the bindings. he quicky ran into the kitchen and returned with a scrap of meat and tossed it to the fine creature, who caught it neatly in its beak and wolfed it down. Alezand turned his attention to the parchment. Breaking the seal, he unrolled the message and immediately began to read the text. Disbelief dawned on the young man's face. He read it over and over, his eyes racing fverishly each time it passed across the paper. It couldn't be. It was impossible. And if it was was true , why now... He turned to the handsome bird as if to ask his building questions, and on que, the hawk took off ou the window as it came. Such news, mysterious as it was. He sat down slowly to process this through his now jumbled mind. His heart beating a mile a minute, he didn't know how to react. HE sat there, trying to think when...

She knocked on the door oping he was home and he would answer.

Alezand's muddled thoughts were then interrupted by a knock at the door. Now who the frellin' world could that be? He whipped open the door and he immediately halted. "Oh, it's you..." he said, his expression softening as his shock of Adrienne's arrival grasped him. What was she doing here? No matter, she was safe now, and he could use her company.
He opened the door wider to admit her in, glancing over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't followed. His time in having a house in Avaren was numbered, as it was not safe for his friends here, thus it was not fit for him. He would stay somewhere in Aesir for a time. Until other arrangements could be made. "What are you doing here, sweetheart? You know better then to venture in the lion's den unaccompanied. I really appreciate the gesture, but please. Not on my account. I love you too much for something to happen to you just for my benefit." He started. His stress over the letter was getting to him, which was strange. Not much ever made him loose his composer.
He picked up the piece of parchment from the table and walked over to the young woman standing there, and hugged her. "I sorry, but don't scare me with things like that. I have a new predicament on my hands." He released her and strode into the kitchen, which was rather bare considering its usual stores. But he still had enough to host a little brunch. He poured some juice and brought it out to the table and put a pan on the fire, and soon the house filled with the smell of good food

Adrienne noticed immediately Alezand's aggitation as she followed him inside. She knew something was wrong, her reply to his question was, "i came here to see you, i do know that but something told me i needed to come so here i am." she said. She hugged him back before following him into the kitchen "I forgive you.Oh and what might that be? Perhaps I can help." she said.

Alezand walked over to the table with two plates with eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Setting the plates down, he passed her the letter. Written was "Dear Master Jozlyn, I greet you in the name of the Allaine order. I am Knight Linz Aoda, of the Talon clan. You may remember me in your distant past. I was one of the last to fight by your side before we were scattered to the wind. I know that in the grave circumstances in which we parted, you are no doubt shocked to hear of my survival. I do bring the unfortunate news that the rest of my party were killed in that struggle. I had been in hiding for sometime, but I have discovered a growing danger in the forces of the Darkness. I have heard word of your return and taking up station in the land of Avaren. If you are receiving this, then you must know that I request to join you. I swear my allegiance and will work to bring back our people and the Order. But I fear you are going to need all the help you can get. I also have information on others who have survived the dark times and are lying in wait of your word to strike back. in Allaine, Knight Aoda"
Alezand's memories swirled. Dashing red hair and a fiery spirit to go with it, Linz was a promising swordsman, even better than Alezand. She was mischievous and stubborn, and that made her a terribly great soldier from a very young age. She had fought with Alezand shortly after Alezand left Tyanno in the elf village. She was a powerful companion for a few years, but they were ambushed while meeting with a few others who escaped the cleansing. It was a bloody and ultimately lost fight, and Linz stayed behind to hold off the orcs for Alezand to escape. He thought she was dead for four long and painful years.
And if what she said was true, then more of his people lay waiting fro liberation and vengeance...

Adrienne took the letter and read it. She sat on Alezand's couch rereading it and taking in what the letter said. She looked up from the letter and into Alezand's eyes. She stared at him for a few minutes in silence, thinking of what to say. "It sounds like you know this women and it seems from this letter you thought her dead, now have found out she is alive and you don't know what to do. Am I right so far?" she asked. She waited for his reponse before continuing she watched his eyes wondering what this women meant to him.

He immediately saw the look on Adrienne's face. "Come now, darling. I have told you before, I am yours, whole and entirely. I will not lie to you, we once tried our hand at a relationship, Linz and I. But we didn't work out. She, however was one of my greatest friends from my kind and a powerful swordsman. I do need her. I promise you that there was nothing between her and I."
He sat down across from her at the table and took her hand. "Don't you worry, think of her as more of my sister, like Tyanno is my brother. She is professional and a funny girl. I think you might very much like her." He stood up and kissed her before sitting back down in his seat. "Now eat your food before it gets cold, darling." He started to scarf down his own meal, just realizing how hungry he was, when an idea crossed his mind. "Why don't we after you are done eating, we go down to the market place..."

"Good, I can't wait to meet her." Adrienne said once reasured that this Linz women wouldn't take Alezand away form her. She started to eat the food placed in front of her. She nodded and said, "Yes I'd love to but we must be careful, i don't want to get caught by anyone."

"Not to worry, none shall touch you as long as I'm with you dear. Besides, I would never let anything happen to you. I would be much inclined to watch you put a lousy reward sniffing troop in his seat with a fit of magic. Quite amusing I would imagine." Alezand reassured. He grabbed his money pouch and checked it. He had something in mind. But he didn't let her on as such. He was just referring to the trip as a walk outdoors. But he knew a few of the vendors and he knew he could find what he was looking for.
20 minutes passed and he looked up the stairs, "Are you ready darling?" He called up the hall to her. He wrapped up in his navy blue cloak and wrapped his sword in it. It hung well concealed within his garb. He left his short sword but sheathed a couple daggers just in case. He had not survived on his own this long without being cautious. The knives too, were hid within his tunic...

Adrienne smiled at the thought of using magic to put a troop in there place. "Yes that does sound quite amusing." she said. adrienne had gone down the hall to freshen up after eating the meal. She wanted to make a good impression but she also wanted to not attract unwanted attention. She finally made up her mind and just in time to hear Alezand's voice calling out. "I am just a sec." she called. She gave herself a final look in the mirror and smiled at what she had chosen, a light blue tunic that matched her eyes and a pair of breeches. It was a very laid- back casual outfit. She stepped out to Alezand and gave him a kiss on the lips. "Ready." she said
