Evee had run into a gang of drunk thieves and they showed her no mercy even though she was a woman. Evee is a good fighter, but tonight the tables were turned. Evee lay against the city walls bleeding to death from a deep wound in her torso. Blood ran out of her mouth from the corner of her mouth. She layed on the ground, almost gone to the after life. Her body was ice cold and she really didn't care if she died now, her love Maril was gone and no one else cared about her that she knew. She would die happily.

Aleph was wandering the city again. The number of fights was much better after dark. He'd just taken down a group of drunks who'd wanted to rob him, and he'd left them lying in a pile of unconscious bodies. Perhaps next time they'd think twice before tangling with someone. Hopefully. He really didn't like beating people up pointlessly, and he liked seeing innocent people hurt even less. As he walked along, he found a person who must have run into that group earlier. Unlike him, though, she didn't seem to have come out of the encounter quite as well as he had.
He ran over, surveying her as he did so. Blood was staining the dirt street and stone walls around her, far too much blood. The fact that the blood was drying and that blood was trickling from her mouth did not give Aleph much hope. That meant the wound was on the torso, and deep. He pulled out the small bag he always kept with him. In it were emergency supplies, including water, bread, and, most inmportant right now, bandages. He pulled out the water and the bandages. After pouring some water over her to wash the blood off, he located the wound. Pouring extra water over the deep cut, he picked up some of the bandages and started wrapping carefully, so as not to injure her even more. As he worked he muttered, "Sorry if this hurts, but it's the only thing to be done."

Evee looked up at the kind soul who tended to her wound. She was thankful to him for it, she was sure she was going to die. ".....Thank you, stranger...." Evee said weakly, he was very nice to help her. Good thing he was passing by, or a few moments later she would have departed from this world. Evee didn't know this young man yet, but she could already tell he was a really loyal friend.

Aleph simply nodded his head in acknowledgement of the thanks. The bandaging was almost done, but that would only help keep blood in. It wasn't going to make her heal faster or anything. And he'd just done everything he knew. The only other thing he could do would be to help her get to a healer or something. Maybe a cleric could help. They usually knew one or two healing spells. He finished bandaging her side and tied the bandages. They were nice and snug, and weren't going to fall off. He used the last of the water to wash her off again and wash his hands. "Can you walk?" he asked. He preferred not carrying her, since he didn't want to disturb the wound, but he wasn't going to leave her injured while he wandered a strange city looking for a healer.

"I think so...." Evee mumbled as she forced her frail body to stand. She was only able to stand unless she slumped over slightly, the wound stung really bad if she tried to stand straight up. Her long brown black hair appeared as a curtain as she slumped slightly. Her body was still cold, she had lost alot of blood. Evee didn't know why this stranger happened by her, but she was vey thankful anyway. She looked up at him, for he was kind of tall. "....What is your name?" Evee said to him in a low voice. It was only right she know the name of the person who saved her life.

Aleph held out his hand, in case she needed steadying or fell. She looked like she would be okay if the wound got attention quickly. "I am Aleph," he replied, "Aleph il'Aranroth." He looked around, not knowing where they could go for medical help. He turned back to the woman and asked, "Do you know which way a healer might be? Or a cleric?" Either one would suffice, but she needed help quickly. If they didn't get her taken care of soon, it was likely that she would infect the wound, reopen it, or make it worse. And any of those would make his earlier efforts in vain and useless.

Evee looked out to the distance then slowly raised her finger to point. "There's a...Healer down in the villlage there...It's a shack with, a straw roof..." Evee said trying to give him detail. "Agh!" She groaned as she fell to her knees holding her wound, it was throbbing, she needed help soon or it was all over. Her free hand rested on the dirt road and she closed her eyes tightly, Her hair hid the painfull expression she had on her face.

"That does it," Aleph said as he carefully scooped her up. "No more walking for you." He could see the building she was referring to in the distance, but it would take a while to get there. And time was definitely not on their side right now. He started to walk in the direction she'd pointed, still carrying her. "Is there anything closer? If there is, that would be much preferable." He continued walking while he waited for her answer. As he carried her, it occurred to him that he didn't know her name yet. Not that it was overly important to him, but he felt it was something he should know. "So, uh, what should I call you?" he asked.

Evee looked up at him with her ruby eyes. "....Evee...Evee Natalia..." She spoke softly, she started to feel sleepy and closed her eyes. She was hoping they could get to a healer soon, she tried to remember where a closer healer was. Evee managed to open her eyes again and she remebered there was a healer near them. "That house there, that cottage...Miss oni is a healer there...." Evee said looking in the cottage's direction. It really stood out from the rest. It was built with white wood and had metal shingles on the roof. All kinds of plants where in her yard, most likely medicinal herbs. Evee closed her eyes again and her head fell back against Aleph's arm. She started to go to sleep which probably wasn't a great idea.

Aleph cursed mentally. Evee was losing concsiousness. This was not good. He saw the cottage she pointed to, only a coulpe streets away. He started walking faster, almost jogging. He refrained from joggin or running, though, since it would likely hurt her more to be jostled around like that. It wouldn't be long before they'de be to the cottage. The only questions were whether or not they'd make it in time and whether or not Miss Oni would admit a patient so late. There was only one way to find out, though. "Just a little longer. Just hold on," Aleph murmured to Evee.
((OOC: Heh. Miss Oni makes me laugh. A healer named "Miss Demon."))

OOC: I had to bring in some comedy with all the drama goin on XD
BIC:
Evee heard Aleph but only faintly. She tried to stay awake but her eyes just kept closing and rolling to the back of her head making them look white. She didn't know how long she would live now and she hoped Miss Oni (lol) would take her in and treat her. Even if she was to die tonight, she was glad to have met a man who was so pure of heart. He didn't even have to help her but he did, and she was in his debt for this completely. She could hear Aleph's footsteps crunching dirt and rocks as he walked faster. She wanted to speak but it came out all drunk sounding. "Why....It's so, dark...I owe you....So much... Al-eph...." Eve whispered, too tired to project her voice.

"Shh, save your energy," Aleph said, shushing Evee. "You don't owe me anything." He hurried towards the cottage. Even though this was the first time he'd had to act as medic, he refused to lose a patient through some fault of his own. Please don't let her die, please please don't let her die, he thought as he walked swiftly towards the cottage. It would likely be a close thing, either way. He made his way through the cottage's yard carefully, making sure to avoid stepping on the plants. When he got to the door, he banged on it with his fist. "Miss Oni!" he yelled. "Miss Oni, I have someone who needs your help!" Hopefully she would respond and help Evee.

Evee heard the banging on the door but her eyelids were to heavy to respond. "Who is that?!" Miss Oni yelled as she came and opened the door. She squinted her eyes to see what was going on, she had appeared to be sleeping. Miss Oni saw Evee limp in Aleph's arms and bloody bandages around her torso. "A deep wound I'm assuming young man?" She asked curiously, her old voice revealed she was at least 60 yrs. old. She held a hand to her chin awaiting Aleph's answer, she tried to assess the wound from where she was standing. She was a good healer, pretty much the best. She could tell what kind of wound you had by just a glance.

Aleph nodded at Miss Oni's question. "As far as I can tell, very deep. Her mouth was trickling blood when I found her, and I think she lost a lot of blood as well. I don't know how deep the wound is, or how long she's had it. I do know, though, that a good deal of the blood around her was already dry when I got there. I didn't do anything but wash her off and bandage her," he said, telling Miss Oni anything that might be useful. "Will you be able to help her?" he asked hopefully. With any luck, Evee would be up and about in a couple days or less. "I can pay, if that's an issue," he added.

"Hmmm, I see. I know this young woman..." Miss Oni paused, "Ms. Evee yes? 10 gold boy, I won't charge my full price. She helps me out alot, It's only fair hm? Come come, time is a passing us by..." Miss Oni said waving her wrinkled old hand for Alphen to bring Evee inside. Evee was definately sleep now, hopefully she doesb't slip into a coma. Her body had goosebumps all over and a cold sweat on her forehead, she never ran into trouble such as this. Miss Oni got her medicinal herbs and serums together along with some stitching tools. Her house was kept pretty tidy as far as the living room was concerned. There were a few beds made for her patients, it was like an actual hospital but in medieval times.
