Is there a layout of some kind that we should be following when creating our character profiles?

Just look at the other profiles and follow the layouts that one of them has used. Here's a very basic one, the one that I used, if you wish:

Age:
Physical description:
Personality:
History:

Basically, just add as much information as you want. Likes, dislikes, appearance, birthday, family, history, education... the more the better. It really helps with character development. ^_^

A lot of that could just be grouped together, though.

Could just be under Appearance.

Could just be under favorites.

Could just be family.
