Well, I am aiming to become a shape-shifter, and my animal transformation of choice is hopefully going to be a dragon. I'd say that yes, as certain positions advanced and grew in level, they would get recgnition as to having certain pets. But, unfortunately, there are the people that will say "it has been my character's 'friend' since childhood." then things can get a little stupid and degrading. that also brings us into dangerous territory, where people can make their pets extremely powerful. thus, those with proper rank and the such should be allowed to create a pet as long as it goes along with certain guidelines. (But that part is more for the suggestion boards.) ^_^
And.... I lost my train of thought...

You have a pet fish that doesn't require feeding or maintenance. You have no right to talk about overpowered pets XDDD

Considering it seems that I'm not the only one that would like to know their answers I think that would be a bit unfair to the other curious people.

First off: Stuff about Dragoons: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragoon_%28disambiguation%29en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragoonwww.answers.com/topic/dragoonwww.1911encyclopedia.org/DragoonA dragoon is merely a soldier who rides in on a horse but fights on foot. Didn't even exist in medieval times. All those ideas are created by people who only play video games. Secondly: I agree, stop the damned dragons. And Pegasuses. And phoenixes. My reasoning: dragons, pegasus, phoenix. All three do not exist in the real world. So therefore they are open to interpretation. By this I mean something like this: I grab 4 books from a bookshelf in my room. In one, magic is purely thought controlled, and tied to specific elements, no wand or words required (Circle of Magic). In another, words and a wand are required, but anyone can cast any kind of magic, with varying degrees of skill (Harry Potter). In another, words are used, and magic can pretty much do anything, using physical objects mostly (Eragon). And, in the last one, wizards only magical powers are control over demons, all other powers are the demons working for them (The Bartimeus Trilogy). 4 different views, what do you use. Whichever one is most powerful and you like the best, of course. Dragons, how do we see them? The way they are in Eragon? Godzilla with wings? The chinese dragons? We don't know. How strong is their armor? We don't know. How far can they breathe fire? We don't know. Too many unknowns, too much freedom to make an unstoppable creature. Same with all other mythological creatures. I mean, it's bad enough that some warriors have magic powers and some mages have warrior weapons, and it's also bad that everyone has to make themselves 12 feet tall, incredibly fast, in perfect physical condition, never feeling any fatigue, unstoppable, and capable of running halfway across a field without an opponent moving an inch. Do you really need that much more stuff? Ah well. If I were in control, I'd have gotten rid of problems like this with banning. But, I wouldn't be a good admin. Plus, I can't be an admin, so bah. Technically, as a member who has left, my opinion is of no revelance.

I think it does, it makes enough sense and what I believe, I agree. The main thing is Cain never allowed it or said they exist in his world. I flawed my character as much as possible so with the level system I can build her to be stronger, physical condition and magical ability {I'm not talking about strength she couldn't melee fight if her life depended on it, but I mean fatigue and such, shes a lonely little witch whos a bookworm, doesnt get much fitness done } I don't know why its so hard for people to do that, warriors aren't born strong men, they have to build themselves to be. And *insert dragon stuff I've wrote before here*

That's why the dragoons are mythological. Of course, they are not real and saying that they are merely things that people have come up with that play video games, you would only be wrong. Because the people who made the games had to base the idea off of something. Just because you have a lack of an imagination doesn't mean that you need to go and ruin other peoples fun. Either way, I know what a real dragoon is as I have stated previously. I simply integrated the mythological version at the end of it as well and I clearly stated that. Besides, a dragoon like the mythological version would require someone to go through the warrior branch and the mage branch.
Now, as for dragons, pegasuses, and Phoenixes, phoenixes and pegasuses don't exist, but dragons do. Anyone that does enough research could prove that dragons are very real. In fact, if dragons didn't exist, then why in the world would the Bible mention them? If the Bible is truth, and it talks about dragons, then dragons are very real. However, using certain translations from certain languages and stuff. You find that the greek word for dragon means serpent. Well, if you take that back to the beginning of the Bible. You find that it is a serpent that gets cursed to crawl on it's belly. Snakes weren't the worm like things they are now. They were once walking, flying, and possibly some type of breathe breathing creature. People that study snakes now can tell you that by looking at a serpent's skeleton that they once had legs because of certain bones are longer than others. Also, we have snakes that gluide or jump from tree to tree, showing that they might've once been able to fly. And then we also have serpents that spit venom into the eyes of their prey to blind them, this suggest that dragons might have been able to spit something then too. Also, if you look up in certain civilizations, they refer to certain creatures by calling them dragons and we even name certain reptiles dragons as well.
