It has come to my attention that there are not restrictions on the abilities of each class/level. Say if one mage had one thought of the amount of power he/she could have at say level 2 (Acolyte) and someone else of that same level another. It would become confusing to say that the rules are being abided by because of personal interpretation. I think that for each class there should be some kind or generalised moderation; boundary’s that still allow the creative ability but limit the miss interpretations. (Sorry if this is hard to understand but it is hard to put thought and meaning into words.) I believe in some cases passed level three; such as the line of becoming an Elemental out line there own ability, but for the first three levels simple low level spells or even illusions should be main focus. As people read different books, watch different movies everyone gets a different sense of what is a low level spell. General moderation would stop complaints of over powering in some sense but won’t abolish it all together. The moderation would give RPer’s would be given the greater challenge to develop there characters further and stretch it out for a greater time rather than just going from ignorant to knowledgeable.

To me its all about what your character chooses to learn, how they practiced, and if they're born with any special abilities or gifts. Its up to the responsibility to the person who plays them to correctly suspend or allow the extent of their power. For example, mine was very strong at both, but something traumatized her enough, she is now weaker and tries to learn other kinds of magic. Shes in fear when she uses what she was born into, and it hinders her ability. She Can do more as she studies and learns for herself and overcoming her emotions, I use the levels to determine how much she can or cant. For example, she attempted to bring a plant back to life, and shes level 2, she could not. She attempted to use water magic, and she had not been taught elemental spells, it failed and she became rather upset. Slowly as time goes by shes realizing she can't perform any magic but what she was taught by her parents. I have to wait until the levels go by to advance her feelings and abilities to even try other types. Thats how I moderate her, I hope I worded it good enough to make some sense.

I just blow stuff up. But yes, you do have a point.. there are certain characters here, both mages and warriors, who are beyond the limits of their current classes. However, isn't that what sweeping is for? ^.^

Yes, sweeping is for that, but the Outlanders don't seem to sweep much. Only one of the gnolls has a single sweep and the Undead people dude has only one sweep also. I vote... MORE SWEEPS!! And MORE OUTLANDERS!!
Anyways... In some cases, the "crime" so to speak is not worthy of a sweep. And if someone, indeed, does get swept, that does not mean they will all of a sudden become rational with their character. Actually, they don't become rational at all, from what I've seen
In addition: Eragon, you cannot POSSIBLY agree, seeing as you overpower yourself more than everyone on this site put together. So don't even pretend you agree. And if you do agree, then show that you agree and stop posting things like:
*Eragon flies over on Saphira who breathes flames on [insert name] and kills him instantly. Then goes and explodifies Avaren with a glance. Then goes and wins a duel with swords with the best swordsman in the world and pwns him. Then goes and has a magic duel with the best spellcaster in the world and deprives him of his spellcasting ability.*
I may be exaggerating, but many people here will agree with me. For starters, you're either a warrior, or a mage. Not both. Second, you're still a militia. A militia is a pathetic little loser who can't do anything. If you're gonna go around posting stuff like I mentioned above, at least move your level up. And attempt the test. And if you fail, DON'T POST THINGS LIKE THAT!!!!5
There. Sorry if I was a tad harsh. Just had to speak my mind.
[edit:] Btw, the power moderations would make it easier to define a sweep, so that there is no discrepancy between the sweepers and the sweep-ees.

I understand what you're saying, and it makes sense to me.
I'm going to (eventually) become a mage on the elementalist path. Right now, I'm only starting to sense that something is different with the elements, and I could be a level 3 if I so choose. While some people greately over powere their characters, and others are just on the line, I underpower Mira. It's just how my storyline/plot goes.
Anyways, lol, to the point. People, like you said, interprent things differently. But, then again, there is definitely a limit. There just needs to me more enforcing of the rules and consequences if people don't listen and follow them.

Do you have an opinion or just intent on eating people? It may be fun but getting kinda old!

Of course I have an opinion. Along with eating heads off, I believe my ability to sweep those who severely overpower their class is sufficient for now; the admin chose me [because I rock] because he feels I hold good judgement when it comes to the maximum abilities of a class. Ain't that true, Cain? ^.^

Lol yeah didn't get eaten!! Well your right you may be alright for now but can you be in a hundred places at once? Can you give RPer's guidence? I have seen some people be sweeped and have to ask why. When sweeping explinations have to attend at the time of sweeping! So if there was some kind of Guidelines for RPer's than all would know and all guidelines would apply. I have said this more specific to mages than warriors as, mage powers are more likely to take different strengths as such!

I think it's an idea that could help beginners. I don't know what my character is able to do at this level and I don't want to break the rules so I haven't done anything and it is kinda boring! I think it could give people some ideas on the capability of their character!

Militia - you have basic training in weapons and light armor (maille, leather, etc;) You pretty much know that the pointy end of your stick goes in the other guy. (It does, doesn't it??)

Okay so in other words if defending myself came about I would sit there going of yes that goes there but wait how do I get it there! That's a really interesting way to, how do you say, create a point where others can post back without something being over in 2 seconds flat!

That's why it's probably safer for you to stay away from attacking someone until your character is strong enough... and that can be achieved by simply RPing as your character talking to someone else.
...Don't tell me to take my own advice, or I'll stab you.
