A hybrid class only after level 7, but not mage/warrior hybrid? Why doesn't it make sense to me that someone can't be a bartender/lvl3 class? Why would they have to wait until Level 7 just to become a bartender, Mira? WTF? My head hurts... Or would something like that be an exception? Please elaborate, Miss Mira, and thank you...
And as to David, yeah, that would work. And if you choose not to do such, you would be putting your char in a weak position by choice. Or we could make some rule about mage/warrior hybrids, like they can't claim to be as strong as, say, someone with the same amount of posts, but not a hybrid. We could ask them to use discretion. Isn't that what the testing at Level 4 is for in the first place? To make sure that people have the discretion and RP skills to be powerful and not cause trouble?

The higher levels are simply your character going through another branch in the skill tree. If they were to try and cross over into the mage skill tree they would then have to pass Mury's test to advance beyond the 3rd level of a mage. See, they wouldn't be able to become that powerful without others allowing it. And even then, if they were to miss use it or over power themselves the Outlanders exist to set them in their places.

*BRAIN BLAST!!!!*
You know how post counts increase for level requirements? Well, after you reach level seven, let's say you need 1500 posts to attain Lvl 1 of the new branch you wish to train in. And then 2000 posts to reach Lvl 2. And so on. (Maybe change around the numbers...)
AND you have to take a test at each level.

Tori… I meant warrior/warrior (spearmen/archer) classes, or mage/mage (neuromancer/elementalist) classes. I wasn’t referring to being a bartender or priest or watchman at all.

Seriously, Verdan, what Augustine said is enough. You don't need to overdo it so much. While I don't think that your idea is THAT bad, having a test every level is just too much... Well, thank you, Mira. I didn't mean to do much other than point out the vague-ness of your solution. I guess we will have to agree to disagree upon the point of mage/warrior hybrids, however, huh? Although I myself do not *plan* to use it at the moment, I think it would add more flexibility to the site...

Yes, I do agree it would add more flexibility. But, then you would end up with some all-powerful characters. As much as I would love having Mira be able to use a weapon, I don't think it would be in the site's best interest.

I meant within the class. Say I become an Archmage. Once I do, I can go and proceed to training to become an elementalist, for example.

At the moment, level 7 seems to be all powerful, anyways. Only other level 7 chars, and Cain, Vidar, Delia, or the outlanders can do anything about them. It would be the same for mage/warrior hybrids. I mean, it's not like we have any problems with level 7 chars, so I don't see why we would have problems with chars that are any higher. And, if we plan to go through with the whole, warrior/warrior and mage/mage things, we could just as easily add those as an option WITH the warrior/mage hybrid to allow for pure warriors and pure mages that are just as strong as the mage/warrior hybrids, no?

Okay, as for double classing mage and warrior and such, I'm still deciding on how to work that.
As of now, anyone with a special position of any sort can opt to also be on the skill tree like any normal RP-er, if they so choose.
