ooc: Ack; next time one of you peeps ask me to be nice or to wait up for you; I'll remember to do the opposite. Ic: Luckly for Shadow, Captain Derufin was unable to notice the package that he dropped on the floor since the tall man's eyes were riveted on the faces of these outlandish mages. Why look at the ground when there was a potential danger standing right in front of your nose? That was Thurel's philosophy of Life and it was because of that he had remained alive as long as he had. However the younger man's curses did not escape the helmeted Captain's attention when a guard brought Shadow over; in fact Thurel had a message to pass on. "Oh I do hope you watch that tongue of yours boy", threatened Thurel as he grabbed Shadow's garments with his free hand and drew in the mage, "Because with such a long stint in the Dungeons; we have ways of curing that dirty tongue of yours.". Releasing his grip on the boy, the guard moved off to the side back where the rest of the prisoners were being kept. The next two events that happened were eye-catchers indeed. One of the captured prisoners actually stepped forward and curtsied to the both Elyan and Rianne; in all his years of serving the Crown, Thurel had never seen any such behavior before. However the second action was more predictable; Elyan had finally realized that there was a threat here and was shouting out his rage. Muttering under his breath about "only takes true action when his wife does in such matters", Thurel quickly silenced himself; it wasn't right to talk about that to a man he considered his brother. And so the rest of the round up went according to plan, but when one of the loyal warriors in the Hall approached him with a captured Mage and asked if Thurel needed help; the Captain of the Guard found it odd. If anyone needed help, it was the warrior that was dragging the mage toward him; if Thurel needed help he would've solved that problem with his bastard sword that was tightly clutched in his right hand. "No lad; I'm quite alright. However it seems you are the one that would be needing he...", began Thurel; only to trail off with the most recent occurance of a bad odor. It was brimestone and it left a disgusting stench, so while Thurel whirled around to see where the smell originated from; he also noticed the cloud of smoke that began to envelop the Banquet Hall. Coughing heavily, to a point where it almost hurt, Thurel's mind was throwing off curses left and right for he know what kind of person would implament such a tool. In his years under Elyan's father, he and Elyan had put a damper on the City's theives and many times they had tried to escape using such odd devices. So either this was black magic of the worst kind, or there was a thief in here with more tricks up his sleeve. Hacking massively, his large chest heaving in and out as he tried to breath, Thurel pulled off his helm and tossed it aside so he could breath; now he could find these vagabonds and rapscallions. And it wasn't long before Thurel was given a target. Though he could barely see, his hearing was unaffected and when an unfamiliar voice spoke out loud, Thurel let out a roar and plunged into the cloud of smoke; searching for the speaker. Oh he would find this person eventually and then the speaker would have a lot to worry about.

Occ (sorry thurel, just trying to keep the evnt up to pace, good to hear from you) Tyanno noticed the smell and the smoke instantly. That was his que. He focused his attention to the guards coughing now in front of the door. With a surge of power from deep in his soul, he could feel his abilities roar within him. Time to act, he thought to himself. He first began layering the floor under the guards with a flash freeze of the slipperyest ice. they, in their scrambling to get a bead on the situation, immediately fell to the ground hard. Tyanno walked up on them and redirected his frosting essence emenating from his hands to the armor and weapons. that was the only problem with metal, It sticks together all too easy when frozen he chuckled to himself. When he was assured that they weren't going to be getting up too soon he turned his attentions to the door. The fight began to pitch in the darkness around him, but he managed to keep his cool. Now, ahh, theres the ticket, as his eyes fell on the bolts and hinges of the doors. If he froze those well enough, Alezand and the others could shatter them, and the door would fall. He regained his focus and began his work. this would take a moment...

Alezand quickly released Tyanno and brought his sword up, watching Tyanno make quick work of the guards at the door. It took Tyanno a few minutes, so Alezand turned and faced outward ready to defend Tyanno as needed. He yelled out to Shadow "fortify the area around the door and help Tyanno get it down. Don't let a single soldier through to him." Jozlyn turned as a figure loomed out of the darkness. A guard stumbled into his field of vision. Alezand quickly reacted, locking swords and sweeped the bewildered soldier off his feet. He delivered a swift flat bladed strike to the mans helmet and rendered him unconcious. Alezand was going to do his best not to hurt anyone. He was still loyal to this land, even if their leaders were making a terrible mistake. He will have to address that later. Now, action was at hand. Readjusting his cloak to cover his mouth and nose against the abrasive gasses that Shadow released, He took up stance again covering Tyanno's rear, when he heard a distinctive roar of a particular man. Alezand checked to see that others were falling in the Tyannos defense, he then dove forward at full sprint to head off the captain...

Shadow laughed. "Iv'e been Ready and waiting!" As he did so, the bindings around his wrists fell off and he lobbed the flashbang in the general direction of the throne. turning the other way, he lifted his hood, covering his face with a cloth pulled out of his pocket. Before he took three steps it exloded. loud and bright, It pierced through the smoke cloud, and the noise was enough to shake the whole banquet hall. laughing, he walked up to the young mage who's plan it was to flash freeze the door, he shook his head as he observed the door. "no tackle is going to break that..." Shadow looked thoughtful. "Unless..." he sighed. " unless you also apply magical force to the hinges in just the right area..." shadow shook his head. "but we've no time. lets go." Shadow lifted his hand, focused for a few seconds, and a sphere of energy formed. Tossing it to his other hand, he weighed it in his hand, then, using magic to augment the force of his throw, he threw it right at the hinge on the left side of the doorway. There was a groan of protest from the mighty door, but no visible damage appeared. "comeon, get some strong man to tackle the door. if he tackles the same door I attacked, he might just be able to open it..." Shadow sighed. He couldnt believe it, but he was going to ask eragon for help. Bellowing over the general tumult, he called eragon's name once. Then, he sent the call through his mind. "ERAGON!! GET YOUR BLASTED DRAGON OVER HERE AND BUST DOWN THE DOOR! DO IT OR THEY WILL KILL YOU AND THE DRAGON! YOU KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE!" Laughing, Shadow pulled three flashbangs from his pouch, handing one to the young mage that had frozen the door. "here you are. Have fun with it. but make sure you dont throw it anywhere near us, or we will be blind and deaf for the next hour." he laughed, and lobbed one of the flashbangs into the cloud of smoke. the blast was loud enough to cause a ringing in shadow's ear. getting an idea, he threw it the other one at the cealing, putting a blast of magical speed on it, which nearly trippled the speed from shadow's throw. the resulting noise might just be enough...

Eragon looked over at Saphira. Saphira! Saphira growled and tried her best to shove off all the guards surrounding her. Then she flew up into the air. Eragon drew his sword and raised it into the air. Bust the door! Saphira! Saphira nodded and dived towards the door, ramming it. And she repeated this. Eragon pushed away some of the guards that were trying to hold him down and invoked the words of the ancient language.
A burst of indigo fire shot out from the tip of his red blade and exploded in the air, sending molten droplets raining down on the guards. He cried over the furor, "Behold! I am a Rider! Flee of you wish to live!" Then Saphira brought the heavy doors down and rejoined Eragon. I am sorry, everyone. I am sorry, Saphira. Eragon said, holding back the tears that was threatening to come. Its not your fault little one. We're leaving soon. Eragon nodded and leapt onto Saphira. She roared and reared her head, snapping at the guards. Eragon yelled something and the hall was filled with a blue swirling mist. "No lives nor prisoners should be taken tonight!" He roared and Saphira flapped her wings. She was still young, due to the King's wish that she remain young, and she flapped her wings frantically as she flew out of the knocked down gates. "Run!" Eragon yelled to Shadow and his friends.

Ooc: Apology accepted just don’t ever do it again!!
Lessien stood taking in everything that happened around. Small and inexperienced in her magic ability she knew nothing feeling it safer to stay and not fight. As the brimstone gas coated the area in which she stood, her breathing became difficult. Had Shadow tried to inform her? Is that what the motions were? Her chest became heavy as those around her tried to breath. Knees buckling from lack of strength she fell to her knees. The restraints on her wrists made it impossible to cover her mouth. Voices and noise flooded around her commotion in the smoke. Where were they? The others had they escaped and fled. Hope surged through her mind hoping they had. It was better for her to be left than those that had given proof to there abilities. One young woman with a mere Osprey to her name; what was the proof there of her inner ability.
Calls and voices moved around the smoke lifting that little bit as BANGS went of around her. A still silence came to her she could not hear anything, nothing. Figures were emerging through the smoke. A voice came to her mind. Press on you can do that you have before… That voice, the one that had led her from Tyranth. Picking herself up off the floor she began making her way throw the crowd of coughing people. Moving quickly she looked for someone she knew. Her sweet face now full of panic.

Occ( No we're not the same person, just roomates. Or squadmates, I should say. With one computer between us. being that close of a pair, we work off each other. I can see how we may seem like one person. Being on active duty, we don't get more than fifteen minutes at a time at best to post, so we post together so one doesn't fall behind. We shall wait..)

A ‘Friendly’ Note from Rianne: Alright you guys, this is completely ridiculous 1) By the time I am finally able to read your posts, I cannot make head or tail of them. What was knocked down, a barred door or a also barred gate? Or a wall? 2) How is it that you guys think a few low level mages and a small dragon can knock down said door/gate/wall/whatever when the Banquet is swarming with guards and every single mage had three guards on them? Plus Eragon, if Saphira is now a small lizard as you proclaim, she can’t shove off all the guards assigned to her, you two were the most heavily guarded 3) No blue mist, Eragon you can’t do magic 4) In my eyes, Shadow is the only believable one in this thread, therefore he is the only one who will be recognized in my post. The rest of you, you are still here and you are going to have to be much more clever and play by many more rules should you truly wish to escape --- It would have been unconceivable to believe that the prisoners would go so quietly, but honestly it would have been better thought of them to make escape attempts that may work. Each attempt was pathetic saved for the smoke that entered the room that seemed to drive Thurel mad. But that was no matter, because right now the doors were barred and there were enough guards in that Banquet to easily deal with the prisoners still. “Guards, by the grace of God keep the prisoners still!” She shouted, coughing from the smoke and putting a hand over her mouth. They answered to her as well as Thurel, and snapped to attention. Their prisoners couldn’t have gotten that far so it didn’t take much for the guards to make their way through the haze and grab each mage that had gotten free again, along with some of the warriors that seemed keen on helping the heathens as well. The smoke created by magic cleared, as all smoke did, and she looked back out onto the Banquet to see her work. Shadow had a few more guards on him now, numbering five, enough to keep him from causing any trouble. More had grabbed the two men that thought they could get rid of the doors for some reason, but that had been futile because they were nothing but lower level and those doors were strong. Saphira and Eragon were once again separated, but this time the puny dragon was dragged before the head table and kept there away from Eragon. Rianne’s grey eyes were harsh as she looked down upon the beast, and upon the heathens. “That is enough! All of you should not set foot upon this ground which is guarded by our God. Maybe through him you will find mercy and repentance, but you are heathens and your demonic acts will not be tolerated in this land. Men, take each person to the dungeons, separate cells.” She said in a sharp voice, returning to her seat and letting them carry out their orders, each person that was apprehended was taken forcefully and moved out of the Banquet hall. Saphira was made sure to be kept away from any of the prisoners, her fate would be different.. Her eyes turned towards Elyan and she spoke in hushed and serious tones tones. “It is a grim day that has now befallen Avaren.” Gently she rested her hand upon his, and trusted Thurel to make sure each prisoner was taken care of, and knew that it was now Father Vidar’s time to solve the issue of impurity. So began The Cleansing of Avaren. --- Arya, Eragon, Tyanno, Alezand, Shadow, Lessien, Cloud Strife
By the will of the Crown you have been arrested and sentenced to the Dungeons to await your trial where your fate will be reckoned. Your crimes are heresy against the Church and our lord God, and the Crown itself, possession of a demonic beast that will be disposed of in order to purify our lands, aiding or sheltering a heretic, and resisting arrest. Justice will be served.
