Hide and Seek

Napeir stood got up with shadows help " its always a weak branch isn't it" he sadi feeling his head, their was a lump on it and it hurt like heck.
" hey shadow, and Alenya, but i don't think i know him"

[Alenya Everglade]

"That's Kalim, a mage with an obsession with eating Eron," Alenya stared pointedly at the mentioned. "I'm beginning to wonder if he's getting angry at me. After all, it's my experience that men usually get cranky when hungry and denied something."

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "well, you havent met many men then, have you. " Shaking his head, shadow continued. "we dont get cranky because we are hungry or tired, we get cranky from lack of sleep. and sometimes because we are really hungry, we will get into a very sour mood, and crankieness cant describe it." Laughing again, shadow pulled an apple out of his pouch. Offering it to Kalim, he smiled. "want one?" As he did so, the apple seemed to blur at the edges.

Napeir laughed as well. " if he wants to eat Eron, then he has to catch him first, and thats a chore itself"

[Alenya Everglade]

Alenya laughed heartily. "Too true, Napier, too true. And Shadow," she turned toward the mentioned, "Come to think of it, just about all the guys I know are constantly fussy and cranky and all other related feelings, so I admit my observation might have been wrongfully swayed." She frowned at the apple. "What's with the blurry apple?" she asked.

" i'm not fussy and cranky" napeir said still laughing

[Kalim]

"Cranky? You want to ask why I'm cranky?" Kalim asked, frowning as he rubbed the side of his head, "Try the fact that you just up and smacked me out of the blue for why I'm cranky," he said sourly, glaring at her as he spoke. "Not to mention earlier when you tackled me. Overall, I think you must be out to get me or something."

"I don't want your apple," he said politely to Shadow, "I'm waiting for her bird before I can eat."

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed and the apple turned back to normal. "eh... i was trying to give it the impression of two apples, but it didnt work too well... thats why im going to become a Shapeshifter though, and not a summoner or an illusionist." sighing, he took a bite out of the apple, as it was a freshly picked one. "Well Kalim, Im sure i could give you a lift, but it might be a little painfull, as the magic i use would push you upwards at such a rate that you would be flattened." Shadow laughed. "otherwise, you can complain all you want."

"i have been on one of those, and it went badly" napeir stated

[Alenya Everglade]

"Well, I haven't and I suppose I shoulld count myself lucky. I think going at such a speed would not be very fun nor beneficial to my well-being," Alenya said wisely, cracking a smile. She looked up at the tree tops. She saw her eagle fly by. "Oh, thank God!" she said. She grabbed the whistle that hung on the necklace around her neck and blew it hard. No sound emitted, but the overhead bird changed flight pattern abrubtly, gave a loud squawk and came to a landing beside her.

[Kalim]

"Erm, no thanks, I don't really need a lift, I just need a clever trap......" he said, even as Alenya blew her whistle and the bird began to descend towards her.

"Perfect idea!" Kalim said, standing and holding his staff firmly in both hands, "Lure it close and I'll clomp it over the head, then it's stew time!" As he finished, he stepped foreword, taking a mighty overhead swing at the bird as it landed beside the girl.

[Alenya Everglade]

"Okay, that's it!" Alenya fumed. She jumped up onto Eron's back and they hovered just out of reach of Kalim's staff. "I swear to all that is holy if you so much as think about stewing Eron, I will let him rip you to shreds and feast on you for a change!" Eron dipped down and snapped at him, getting quite close to snapping Kalim's staff with his beak. Alenya pulled him back up and stared threateningly at him, waiting for his next move.

" lets settle sown now" napeir said stepping up " how about you leave Eron alone and instead of thingiing about the bird i treat you to dinner" napeir said to kalim

[Kalim]

"Now now now," Kalim protested defensively, "All I'm saying is that if the birds large enough to ride, it's large enough to provide quite a few meals to a famished traveler. As he spoke, he tapped the end of his staff with a finger, causing the space an inch above it to glow brightly and finally burst into a crackling bit of flame, which would burn the winged meal if it tried to touch his staff.

"If you want to treat me to dinner," he said, keeping his eyes on the bird yet speaking to Napeir, "Then I would suggest throwing a fireball or two at that buzzard...."

"your not eatting eron and thats final, she won't let you, eron won't let you, and i won't let you" napeir said standing inbetween kalim and eron.
Napeir then pulled out a knife and transformed his hand into a cat claw.
" if you try to eat eron, you have to go through me"
