Færys entered Aesir, carrying a brown sack slung over her shoulder. She staggered to and fro occasionally, her legs weak from hunger. Her dark eyes moved leisurely about her, or so it seemed. She hoped her father would not be able to send assassins here, of all places. She stopped to enjoy the view of a flower, and her tired legs gave way beneath her weight. She dropped to the ground, knowing herself far too exhausted to continue her journey. She figured she would stay where she was, in the hope that her father's assassins would not find her in this time of weakness. She began to sing a quiet, soothing melody, and any flowers around her that had been wilting before, began to bloom quickly, revitalized by her voice.
Fæ stayed there for about half an hour, before noticing that an assassin had made his way up into Aesir, most likely attempting at her life. She didn't even need to see him to recognize the movements that made him an assassin. No... wait... HER. The steps were lighter in movement than a male could make. By this time Færys had found evidence in her steps that confirmed her intentions. Færys stopped her song, and forced herself back against a tree. Hopefully this would save her the trouble of being attacked from behind when she could barely move.
Fæ readied a dagger for physical combat, remembering that her flute was no longer useful. A leaf fell from the tree in front of her. Suddenly, she had an idea. She snatched the leaf from the air and bent it just so. She placed the leaf upon her lips and blew, the rough sound reverberating throughout the area. Soon enough, she heard what she had hoped. The assassin was stupid enough not to wear ear pieces. She had fallen to the ground in pain. She quickly rose to her feet, staggering, and almost falling. She limped to the best of her ability over to the assassin, and had plunged the dagger into her throat before she had recovered. That would teach anyone to try to kill HER in such a novice manner. She had been dealing with assassins for nine years, and sending a novice was just stupid.
She collapsed upon her knees after delivering the fatal blow, her strength at last fading completely. She had left her pack over by the tree, but she didn't care anymore. She was simply too tired to move. She drifted off into a deep sleep, even after fighting it desperately.
