Akai entered Aesir, a country she had heard whispers about. She had no idea how to react. In her town, only half of the people were mages, and so she wondered if these mages' reactions to warriors would be anything similar to Avaren's reaction is to mages. She calmly walked up the path, looking left and right. She had no idea where she was going, but she really didn't want to stop and embarass herself by asking directions. She continued ambling along, until she came to what seemed a suitable place to rest.
She seated herself upon a large stone, pulling a piece of salted pork from her bag. She ate her food slowly, trying not to look too nervous. She didn't want anyone coming up to her and trying to have a conversation.

After a boring errand of returning books to the library, Insidia found herself here, at the Heaven's Alter. This area had always been complex and filled with many human beings, too many.Enough to give her a headache nearly every time. She walked around seeking nowhere in particular, looking all around, thinking of something to spend time doing. Her long deep blue dresses end dragged just barley at the ground, dirtying its color, that had once also matched her long gloves, which ended just above her elbows, that were the color of the dress.
In the distance, her peripheral vision caught the sight of a female with similar looking eyes, she too had pits of blacks for iris. Her mediocre sense of boredom and loneliness led her closer, and this female looked stronger than most who dwell here. Insidia felt she just must meet the one who has similar eyes. Upon a more near sighted investigation, she sighed, knowing her eyes were more void-like, or perhaps that was just her restless mind.
Breathing heavily through her tan over-bust corset, she bowed her head at the female, letting her hands fold together. She was never much of a conversationalist, and with the storm could of bad luck always over her head, Insidia felt it was likely she would be dismissed at any which way.
Upon clearing her throat, she said, "Good afternoon...I noticed you from afar..I..I do not know many who spend their time in this city...th-though, you seem much..different...from most who are here..less..frail. Are..are you a visitor?" using her most friendly voice.
Damn her unconsumed time, now what had she gotten herself into?

Akai heard someone behind her, talking to her. She didn't really want to talk right now, not like she ever did, but she felt she probably should. She looked at this woman, still trying not to seem nervous. She stood up, taking her bo-staff in hand, and using it to support herself. She threw her body into a convincingly arrogant and condescending position. "Yea, why?" she curtly replied.

Her brows creased together at the female as she stood. She did not look up at her, she let her eyes stare straight, seeing off into the distance. Her left hand was laced above her waist, touching the cincher around her, feeling the ties with her fingers idly.
"Bah, I was about to welcome you." Insidia spoke in response, her voice indifferent.
She sighed, looked to the right, looking at the people passing by, letting their lives take place, it seemed hers was about to go nowhere right now, perhaps just argue with this lady in front of her.

Akai looked at Insidia, and tried not to laugh. This girl was a lot like her when she was sixteen. Akai noticed the girls attention trailing, or so she thought. "Huh." Akai replied, almost as if she didn't care, but then she thought about it. "You... a mage?"

"You act as if your from an entirely different world, miss. What business do you have wanting to know my hobbies?"
Folding her arms beneath her breasts, Insidia looked at the floor before she did this female.
"I know you are not from here, which gives you allowance to be ignorant, but not so rude." she added
She had not an idea why she stayed there still. It was like speaking to a child who doesn't act their age and felt they were better than everyone else. It seemed despicable how she stood above her so high, she may appear stronger, yet, Insidia felt a greeting was not a matter of status with two strangers. Her words were rough and improper as well, she could think and complain to herself, though, she rather give her the time of day.

"Whatever," Akai responded, "I... don't talk much." Her response was brief, but to the point. It was something she had learned to do to avoid talking to people she didn't have to. She continued staring at Insidia. She hadn't had much experience talking to other girls, and this sort of talk usually didn't produce this effect with the boys. She was wondering if something she said had offended this woman.

With a shrug of her brows, she leg her arms fall to her sides, Insidia turned her back to this female and began to walk away. She moved all of her black locks behind her shoulders as she did, then let her arms gentle move with her steps.
"You have no respect." She spoke, unsure if she may be heard
Back into the flooding abyss of many people walking about. How discomforting. She leaned her back straight against a perfectly crafted stone wall, looking up at the sky as her palms also neatly were against the wall. Inidia closed her eyes, taking a relaxing breath, and then continued to gaze up toward the heavens.

Akai heard the girl chide her, and wondered what exactly it was that she had said. She looked around, and tried to find something else to do. She saw the mage leaning on a wall, not too far off. She didn't want to end the conversation like that, but it didnt seem possible to end it any other way. She decided to get this horrible start out of her mind by training. She dropped her bo-staff on the ground, and kicked it into the air. She caught it, spinning, in front of her face, and continued to weave the staff around her body in a graceful manner. It wasn't much in the way of actual training, but it made a good warm up.

The sky could only hold so much amusement before it grew into something redundant. Her eyes descended from the blue above and glanced around the area, she envied other people's lives so. Insidia witnessed the outings of families, couples, friends, even children, her life was drab, never so socially fulfilling. She continued her silent mourn of her mother, the mistake of her childhood that occurred, feeling that was why she was taught to avoid the public and all its relations. Nineteen years old, she had never found a friend, and still, unlike most girls even younger, unmarried. She did realize not all friendships last and many marriages are unsettling, though, was it any comparison to loneliness?
She noticed that female again, there she was all alone as well. Insidia watched as she moved with her staff, . She could only dream of using weapons, they seemed so exotic and full of talent to use. The closest she had been to such a thing was holding a dagger from the recently deceased. She sighed in envy, and continued her stare.

Akai noticed the other woman still staring at her, almost looking envious of her skill. Akai knew how it felt. Women of her village were supposed to become mages, but she had never been able to cast a single spell. Akai stopped, grabbing her staff for a second, and began to do actual training. While it seemed less graceful at first, the power exerted still held a strange feeling of graceful from. She practiced her swings, and soon decided that it was near impossible to get any better without a sparring partner. Sighing, she sat back down, annoyed at her own solitude.

Insidia sighed a long breath, her expression saddening at her own guilt. To her, magic was something done from afar, not close enough to really see an enemies eyes. It was made of things from another 'world' and not ones self. Of course it took equal skill to learn, though blades and the like were what she always dreamed of holding in her hands. Infernal magics were nothing compared to the ability to slice another's flesh to the bone, hear their scream and see their panic, feel their fear and watch it in their eyes.
"A wave of my hand would never be the same." She thought only to herself, her stare still remaining in place "If I had thought for myself, I could be like her..."
Such a temptation, to walk back to this female, to sit beside her. Insidia wanted to ask her 'How is it done?' 'May I learn from you', thought she knew that were never an option. All she may do is simply admire, and wallow in what she felt was not self pity, but failure.

OOC: Note that it is nigh impossible to post something serious while listening to Bohemian Polka. Yes polka. Not rhapsody. Polka. Same words, just different tune and artist. If you haven't guessed, it's a polka tune. It's a parody done by Weird Al. You try being serious while listening to THAT.
BIC: Akai looked about, and noticed the woman staring at her again. She wondered what she was thinking about, sitting there, staring at her like that. She stood up and walked over to Insidia, and spoke up, "What..." She had been about to say, 'What are you looking at?,' but thought better of it, for once, "... are you thinking about?"

Only faintly could Insidia hear the female. She blinked her eyes, shaking the stare, and brought herself to a stand. Moving herself closer, she murmured "Well...", allowing this female to know she had been acknowledged. This surely had not been the first time someone noticed Insidia's eyes from afar. She herself had adapted to the otherwise unhappy reactions.
"I was admiring your skill. Not many here have that." Was what she spoke.
Her frail hand grabbing some of her hair, lacing her fingers through it, twirling the strands. An idle movement of perhaps shyness, maybe nervousness. For all she knew, she may get slapped in the face by a hand or that stick. A smile, Insidia could have shown, though the kind gesture slipped through her mind while she looked back at the female who's eye color resembled her own.

Akai shook her head slightly. "It's not much. If you thought that was good, you should see my teacher." She looked at the girl, not wondering what she was thinking anymore. It was almost an unspoken truth. The two were similar. They both were not outgoing. She didn't even need to think to figure out what Insidia was thinking. She seemed to be shy, even nervous. Trying her best to guess what Insidia was thinking, she said, "I don't bite. You... can use magic... right? I've... never been able... born that way..." Her voice trailed off at times, making these the only words audible.
