Insidia made a small, feminine laugh, a quiet one as the female told her to see a teacher. She knew that would be wonderful, though the most unattainable. Her arm dropped back to her side, then only to rest across and below her chest, both of them, she folded her arms, her hands resting on each other elbow. She sighed with a long "Ahhh..." looking down with a smile.
"That...no. That is not something I could do. It is..."unladylike" for a woman to hold a weapon, my father says." Insidia spoke out, giving a reason, to even justify it for herself. "If I did not owe him anything, nor respect him, I would see the teacher, though that is not how it is."
Looking back up at the female, her smile faded, her lips closed, her face seeming indifferent to anything. A shrug of her brows, that next statement was more than obvious. Though, if it was not magic she did, she were just a peasant. Rules, she had all agreed to follow about speaking socially ran through her head. Which to follow, which to disregard.
"It is rare in which I find myself in a speaking with outsiders." Was all Insidia replied. Following was a very obviously nervous quiver of her lower lip.

Akai looked at Insidia, trying to figure it out for herself. She wasn't sure how to respond to this secretive girl. "I... ment... to watch him." She sat back down, trying to keep from pacing. "Outsider? Yeah... Way outside..." Was all she could manage, trying not to offend this girl again.

"N-no." Insidia stammered once again "I..I..could never...Th-thank you, though."
One more she tilted her head down wards, her eyes looking at the pristine ground. Her right hand came to her chest, resting atop her breasts, feeling her each breath, her other arm wrapped around her waist. If only she knew what to say, words were nothing but trouble. Her fingers tightened around her waist, her lips pressed together. It felt that inside her organs were churning, turning into liquid and swishing around. For moments she stood silent and still, her only movements were breaths. Insidia knew she should back away at this moment, take herself away from the trouble this would bring her. She could not continue avoiding questions about magic and the arcane for long.
And so she did. She took one step back, her body beginning to turn with the second. That seemed perfect until her turn bumped her into a tall man, who grabbed her shoulder. As if this point in time could get no worse. He gave Insidia an unpleasant stare, he shrugged his shoulder, pushing hers with his arm, moving her out of his way. She stumbled toward the left, grabbing and holding her dress up, nearly tripping over it. Clumsy as always. The hand which held her waist now covered her face in humiliation, hiding her eyes and partially her lips.

Akai watched as the man pushed Insidia out of the way. She reached out to catch Insidia as she had begun to trip, but pulled back her arms when Insidia righted herself. She wondered why Insidia was so sensitive about magic, but decided it would offend her more if she asked again. Instead, she just snipped, "Hey!" She was obviously annoyed with the man, but he seemed to be out of earshot, and so she contented herself with shouting. It probably wasn't best to get into a real fight on her first day in Aesir. She glared in the direction of the man's passing for a few moments, before turning back to Insidia. "Akai Honmura." She said, holding out her hand. "And you?"

The shout was startling, her body made a slight twitch and turned back to the female. She could see that man as well, he made his way without another word or look. "Bah..." she muttered under her breath. Insidia knew she could turn again, avoid that conversation arising again, though stubborn she was.
"Insidia" She replied with her name, a very small courtesy came from her afterward. Ladies courtesy, bow, or kneel, they do not shake hands, she was always taught.
Looking at the female, Akai, she gave a warming smile. This could be over sooner if she showed kindness, one of the would have to make their way. Indecisive as she was, Inisdia remained in her current place, letting this person have another try at a social situation. Her dressings were all so different, her looks, her name. Who wouldn't be more curious?

Akai retracted her hand. That's right. Women do that... whatever it was called. I've been around men too long. Akai thought silently. She grabbed her staff, and used it to pick herself off of the ground. She swung her staff in the direction in which the man had left, hitting only dirt, of course. She looked at Insidia, wondering what she was thinking. "This... is a nice place. I think I'll like it, here. Insidia, huh? Good name." Akai sat back down with her legs folded, underneath her body. She asked Insidia, "Got any boiling water? I have water myself, but I don't know if it's good, anymore. I could boil it, and that would probably help it somewhat." As she continued talking, it seemed more and more like she was talking to herself. Akai jumped to her feet and began to retrieve sticks from around the ground, and cleared out a bare patch of ground. She dropped the sticks into a pile, and struck a few rocks together until she had lit them on fire. "I'll make us some tea."

Good name? That was incredibly a first. Most realize what word it comes from, it scares them, or it makes them think lowly of anyone who's parents would name their own child after such a word. The mostly feared she would be as the word means, though it was she too who was and always is terrified of the such. Her arms folded again, moving closer she gave a slight shake of her head. And why would she have hot water? What did she look like, a fire mage? Oh, thats right, most assume that this cities residents are capable of such.
"No." She answered in an almost apologetic voice
While Akai moved about, Insidia looked at her, watching her gathering nearby fallen and broken branches. Insidia wondered what she wanted the water for, her mind drew complete blank. She sighed again, and knelt by the gathering Akai had made, pressing the long garment over her legs, and fixed her posture to perfection. Her hands rested neatly together on her lap, her fingers laced, watching the fire being created and lit. Insidia nodded and smiled, tea seemed...relaxing and calming for a change.

Akai took a small pot from her pack, and poured water from her supply into it. She took a piece of cloth stained with a light green color from her pack, along with crushed leaves of a slightly darker color. She tossed some of the leaves into the pot, and waited for the water to boil. She wrung the stained cloth out, and placed it over the pot, just as it had begun bubbling. She took the pot from the fire and carefully poured some of the tea from her crude tea-pot into a pair of likewise crude cups. "You'll have to excuse the crude tea set. A traveller like myself can't carry any fine tea sets. This tea is a specialty of my village. I can't think of anywhere else these plants grow." As she finished speaking, she gestured to the ground leaves. She picked up one of the cups, and handed it to Insidia. She seated herself back down in her former position, her legs bent fully, under her body...

Quietly, her eyes watched Akai create the simple ingredients into tea, it had been years since she last had tea, in fact when she was a child and her mother made it. Nearly smiling at the memories, she felt calm in the current situation, anticipating the warm drink and the possible socialization.
Smiling, "The set is fine. The one I had was not much more pretty." she replied, taking the cup in her palms.
Raising the cup toward her face, the warmth caressed her skin. Lightly she pushed it against her lower lip and tried the tea. Swallowing it gently, she let it's heart pulse through her body. She was silent, and continued taking small doses of the drink, savoring each bit. She knew not a thing to say to Akai, never too good of a conversationalist. To her, this moment, although quiet was just fine, and felt no awkwardness.

Akai took her tea and began to sip it calmly. She wasn't much used to being with other people, anymore. Travel alone would do that to you. "You seem to be a nice person," Akai said quietly. She thought she saw a smile almost appear on Insidia's face, but she couldn't be sure. She continued sipping tea, and asked, "So what were you doing out here? I just arrived from outside town. Didn't like Avaren that much."

There was never much to say to a compliment like that. Even herself, she was unsure of her ability to do good, even as a person. With silence she enjoyed more of the tea, keeping her eyes away from Akai. Though when she mentioned "Avaren", Insidia thought she had heard rumors of a city named that, although it could be a true place, it may as well be a lie to mask another. Akai looked strange, spoke strange, acted strange, she resembled an assassin or a criminal in those ways when one judges with paranoia.
"I live around this place. I do not have the fortune to be inside the architecture most times, I am barley a middle classed citizen." Insidia responded in an indifferent voice.
It troubled her to stay quiet, she felt she must say something. Drinking more of the tea, she built up a sentence, one worthy to say. She rested the cup on her legs, holding its sides with her hands. This time her eyes did look back at Akai. They strayed for a moment into her tea cup, there was not much more to be sipped until it would be arid. Concentrating on the amount of tea? A distraction she made to grasp the courage.
"The...city...y-you found it displeasing, why come here? The women are all expected to be ladies, and if they practice magical arts, they still are expected to be lady like." Her eyes then drifted back to the tea cup, her hands lifting it back to her lips.

"Huh? Oh. Why here? I don't imagine it's much different from my village. Women are supposed to be ladies, and practice magic, men take up swords. Master was the only one willing to teach me. I... didn't like Avaren, because I heard they were imprisoning magic users," Akai replied, frankly. She didn't even care that the people back home thought her un-ladylike, let alone people here. Akai thought about everything around, and then asked, "Why do you wanna know so much? Am I THAT strange?"

Nodding indifferently, Insidia placed her now empty tea cup beside her. Whatever the truth may be, she would go along with the conversation. This city just seemed like a strange fairy tale to her. Raising her brows at the last statements of Akai, she looked downward and stood herself upward.
"No." She replied. "I had curiosity. 'Could not say you were ever much the talker. I have to be gone now. Good afternoon to you."
At this moment, she felt this outsider was too much, far too jumpy at everything. It made her nervous, for all Insidia knew, this woman could be an assassin, one set out for her father. A good disguise it would be if that were true. She walked as fast as her legs could take her, without the suspicion she were truly in a rush. The place she must name home would be where she had her mind set on returning. Of course, Insidia had a feeling this would not be the last time her and Akai met.

Akai was slightly confused by the sudden departure of Insidia, but she figured that the girl had someplace to be. She stretched herself out, and laid on her back, not bothering about other's odd glances. She brought her pack behind her head, and used it as a pillow. She slowly drifted off into a nice sleep. Perhaps she would nap for a bit. Maybe she would see Insidia again. Man, was she tired. Maybe she should...
