Nexus had just not long ago escaped from Avaren dungeons thanks to Cain and his mages.
He remembered the pain of when Vidar slashed his chest.
So there he was weaponless and hungry....He didn't really care, he only cared that he was free.
So this is it...Aesir he thought

"Hello there, my good sir," Valaren said, as he approached Nexus. This was someone new to the city, of that he was sure, having lived and grown up here all his life.
"Welcome to Aesir, if you're new." he said, with a brief bow, "And a thousand apologies if you're a resident that I have never had the pleasure of meeting before," he said with a brief grin. "Tell me, what is your name?"

"My name?" Valaren said, with a puzzled expression on his face, "I could have sword I introduced myself, but if I apparently haven't, then once again I must beg a thousand pardons for my forgetfulness. My name is Valaren, and it is quite an honor to meet you, Nexus."
"Yes," he continued, "This is indeed Aesir. It's a truly marvelous city, if I do say so myself. I would think my opinion counts for something, as I've lived here all my life. Where is it you come from and what school of magic do you study?"
