It had been a long journey, she would admit, but at last her small feet would take her through Heaven's alter and through to the City of Aesir.
Tucking a piece of wavy blonde hair behind her ear, excited green eyes glanced around the scene in front of her. At last she had arrived at the floating city of the mage's, maybe a place she could consider home for a while? Maybe not forever... the Lord only knew Hayzie Roberts found it impossible to settle in one place for too long.
For the timebeing, however, she had a job ready to start in the city as an Innkeeper for the local Inn, and was determined to make it over, give it a new lease of life, and then...sell it on when she was done? Maybe this time round, the new owner would keep it in the same state and not send messages after her begging for her return. "He really was hopeless," Hayzie sighed, walking further into the city, attempting to find her bearings with little success. Maybe if someone could show her where she was going, it would make life a little....
"Don't you dare say easier, Hayz," the wavy haired blonde muttered to herself, her tone nearing frustrated. Never again would she take the easy way out. Bad things only happened. The Inn that had burnt down in Barktil was proof of that.

Akai was walking slowly, her eyes not focusing on anything, and not even paying attention to where she was going. As she wandered down the path, she thought of many things, amongst which were plans to pledge herself to the cause of the mages, but it seemed everywhere she went, she ran into that man. Her thoughts drifted to him, and his treatment of her, not because she wouldn't cast spells, but that she was born sans magic power. Her very body and soul made it impossible. Her thoughts changed again, to the horror her mother had reacted with when the judge had said this. The look on her mother's face had pierced her like a thousand spears, each hurting more than the last. Akai felt as if it had been her fault that her mother was in horror. It must be her fault. That was why she left home after serving in her village's army. She couldn't bear to see that look from her mother, every single day of her life. She though of her disgust at herself, for hurting her mother so. She thought of her disgust at Avaren, for killing magic users. As her mind turned these thoughts over, appropriate expressions came over her face.
Calm. Anger. Frustration. Sadness. Guilt. These emotions plagued Akai's mind, growing ever stronger as of late. She could no longer hold them inside. She just needed a person to talk to, someone who would understand. Someone who wouldn't dismiss her troubles, just because she could not use magic. She didn't want to embarrass herself, though, and so continued to keep her emotions pent up, waiting for the first chance they could get to escape. She hated the thought of telling a friend, and even more so a complete stranger. She let her emotions boil, causing her to be curt, even severely rude, to most people.
Continuing on down the path, she began to swing around her staff, as no one seemed to be around. She weaved it gracefully around herself. Now spin! Now thrust! Good, now back! Left! Right! She began training, hearing once more her master's voice, without even realizing it. Becoming instantly cognizant of the voice in her head, however, she snapped the staff to her side, red with embarrassment. She looked down at the ground, hoping no one had seen her, and walked quickly away from the area. She walked so quickly, that she did not see the woman in front of her, and so ran straight into her...

Alezand had to laugh despite his mood up until that point. Watching the two women knock each other over was quite an amusing sight. It was Alezand's first real time to explore the world of Aesir, and he wished he had been brought here on better terms. It was only shortly that he escaped the dungeon that had been his residence for the past month. He waited patiently in faith that something would happen. Fortunately, for once, fate did not fail him. But the past events and those on the horizon still very muched troubled the soldier. But watching two foolish girls knock each other on their butts was just enough to bring a grin to his face. He huriedly trotted up to the pair and assessed the damage. Seeming that they were both fine, he grasped a hand from each and helped them up. "Should be more careful you know, there isn't always a nice person to help you out." he replied with a smirk. "And you should be more careful using your weapon in such a public place. Our image as warriors is hurt enough here without you nearly rendering someone unconcious due to fools play." He turned to the troop to his left, his voice a tiny bit more stern. "we must be cautious, curteous and mindful. The leaders here, as I'm sure that you undoubtedly know, do not take well to warriors. I have worked hard to earn respect here. I will not have a comrade ruin it for all of us." and he let out a sigh. Thinking better on it, he bowed to both and introduced himself, "I am Alezand Jozlyn, a guardian of sorts, if you will."...

Hayzie had been watching the female for a while with a kind of fascination. When she had arrived in Aesir, a member of the military wasn’t who she had been expecting to meet first. Let alone first and second, but her skill with the staff she carried in her hand was, admittedly, very good. The blonde herself knew a few moves with her sword, enough to get her by on the road, but not enough to be described as skilled. Her brother had taught her much of it when she was a lot younger.
He never did find out where she went to.
Lost in her daydream as her pale fingers stroked the hilt of the sword, the girl didn’t even realize when the staff-bearer came closer.. and closer.. and “Ouch!”
That was it. Before she knew it, Hayzie was on the floor, her bag containing a few bits and bobs she always carried and some clothes fell to the floor and just about stayed closed. Sore though it had been, a smile couldn’t keep off the newcomer’s face. “Might be an idea to watch where you’re going in future, though I guess I didn’t see you coming either,” she laughed, pushing some hair behind her ear.
Before she could get up again, a hand reached out for hers. “Thank you,” Hayz smiled at the male who seemed to be admonishing the girl who had walked into her. “Please! She didn’t do anything wrong… I was admiring what she was doing. She seems very good with the staff, if I may say, Sir.” The ‘Sir’ introduced himself as Alezand Jozlyn, and the blonde lowered in a slight curtsey. “It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Sir. And you too, madam. My name’s Hayzie, Hayzie Roberts. I’m new in town.”
ooc: And I'm back!

"Hmph," Akai replied, pushing the helping hand away. She wasn't some fool who didn't know how to get up on her own. She stood up, using her staff, instead of Alezand, as a support. She was also quite embarrassed on her own, without the man having to point out her mistake. She had just been lost in thought. She turned to the woman she had knocked down, and said quickly, yet still with an obvious tone of sincerity, "Sorry." She looked back and forth between the two, wondering who she should talk to next. She placed her staff on the ground, so as to avoid the look that she wanted to fight, but she let it stay close, in case she might need to grab it and use it to defend herself. Though, if this man was as nice as he tried to be, he would probably protect them both, anyways. She decided to respond back against Alezand's comment, remarking, "I didn't hit anyone with my staff, nor did I come close. I don't see what your problem with my practice is."
She then turned to Hayzie, and said, "Thank you for the complement, but that would be wasted talking to him. It's obvious by the way he carries himself, that he is far better than me at combat. I believe it is safe to assume you use swords?" Akai pointed to the weapon at Alezand's side, and made motion to the other soldiers. "I've never been a troop commander, either. I would say it is also safe to assume that you would best me in combat." Akai couldn't help but notice the man had a lot of responsibilities. That usually only came with a lot of skill. Maybe he would be a good sparring partner. "Perhaps I should ask if you want to find out another time?" She looked at both of them, and realized that she had completely forgotten to state her name. As if she couldn't get any more embarrassed. "Akai Honmura," she quickly added, "Nice ta meetya."
