[Ariadne]

Ariadne shook her head. "no thank you im not thirsty." Then all of a sudden a different looking animal appeared and jumped on Shadow. Ariadne immediatley stood up and walked over to Chao as Shadow called him. she was about to pet it but thought against it since he was the reason people didnt investigate his home. "Can I pet it?" Ariadne asked.

[Shadow]

Shadow nodded. "Of course. As long as you mean me and this place no harm, it is fine." He laughed. Chao sniffed the girl cautiously, but once he realized that Shadow was on good terms with this girl, he stuck his head out licked her hand with his rough- sandpaper like tongue. he sat down, and stayed still for a moment, then he happily looked up at her face, wagging his tail. Shadow laughed. "He likes you. " Shadow laughed again, and pulled a small package out of one of his pouches. "wanna feed him?" he opened the package, and took one of the strips of meat out, and threw it to Chao. Chao, seeing the meat, jumped into the air, opened his mouth, and shot a jet of flame at it, cooking it.
Shadow nodded. "oh, and he can breathe fire, much better than I can."

[Cloud Strife]

strife looked at chao and smiled. he had never seen anything like that...it looks cute...strife asked ariadne,"where are you gonna keep it once you pet it? i mean...it CAN breathe fire,you know...it might burn your house down..."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne smiled."You should know I mean no harm." Ariadne replyed to him. She then looked at Chao, he was sniffing her and licked her hand. Ariadne laughed. "well I think hes cute." Ariadne said as she bent down and stroked his head. Ariadne looked up a Shadow and nodded her head. "yeah! I want to feed it." Ariadne said excitedly. Ariadne laughed at Shadows last comment. "Well you should tell him to give you a few pointers then."

strife looked at chao and observed its movements. like ariadne said,it is cute...

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "Chao has been living here for almost 100 years. or so my ancestor's memories tell me." he laughed. "I rememebr when my grandfather had told me, when i was very little, that if i pressed the right buttons, I would get a really cool pet, one that has guarded the house for over a century." Shadow laughed again. "I didnt really ever believe him untill I found Chao here." Shadow held out the package of meat to ariadne. " go ahead, he'll catch it no matter where you throw it." he shook his head at the comment of Chao's cuteness. "Chao, they are calling you cute... Im glad they think of you as cute, and not scary." he threw a piece of meat at the fire, and Chao dissapeared, reappearing in front of the fire just in time to catch the slab of meat.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne listened to Shadows story. "thats cool. I wish I had a pet." Ariadne frowned. Ariadne took the package of meat that was being held out to her. Ariadne nodded at Shadows information. Ariadne then took a slab of meat and threw it a couple of feet away from her. As she threw it she took a couple of spaces back and waited for Chaos reaction. She then looked at shadow. "Why should he be scary? Hes so friendly." Ariadne said.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "well, lets just say..." he smiled, holding up a finger for silence. ther was a loud banging on the door that they all entered the abandoned forge from, and there was a cry. "Openup! there is smoke coming from one of the fireplaces in this house, and if you dont open the door, then we'll bust it down!" There was a crash, and a bang of the door slamming against the wall. Shadow looked over at Chao, who was growling low and threateningly. Chao's eyes burst into flames, and stayed that way. the spikes onhis back grew, and his tail sprouted four spikes, sharper than swords. the armor on his body began to glow a firey orange, and Chao stalked over to the wall they entered the hideout from and dissapeared. there were shouts of terror, and growls, then the growls became roars, and the shouts of terror became shouts of pain. Shadow shook his head. "I almost pity those people who are trying to break into my hideout."

[Cloud Strife]

strife smiled and said,"me too...now i know why chao can be scary too...but as long as we don't break in like them,i don't think chao will do anything to us,right?...haha..."

[Allen †]

Eragon stood at a corner. Well, he can't do anything, isn't it?

[Ariadne]

Ariadne shook her head in discouragement. "People are so bold now a days and its not for their own good. If they would have just minded their own business they would be fine. But no..They always decide to Butt in." Ariadne shrugged. "so yeah....now we know why Chao could be scary..But hes still so cute."

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "well, I guess Ill have to agree with you." There were some dull crunches from outside, and one last yell of fright before the door was slammed shut. Chao came back into the room, satisfied and no longer glowing. "Did you get rid of them Chao?" Chao nodded and Shadow smiled. "That's my boy!" he walked over to where Chao had sat down and scratched him behind the ears.

[Cloud Strife]

strife smiled and said to chao,"it is indeed a great pleasure to meet you...if you understands..."

[Allen †]

Eragon frowned a little. A lil' gruesome. He smiled, thinking about Saphira.

[Shadow]

Shadow nodded. "yes, he can understand what we say, though he cannot respond in the same language." Shrugging, shadow looked back at Chao, who was looking over at strife. Chao nodded, and shadow spoke for him. "Chao says that he most certainly can understand him, and he thanks Ariadne for calling him cute." Shadow laughed and chao looked at him suspiciously. "What? I cant say that, it's rude!"
