A Nice Talk

[Ariadne]

As Ariadne was walking with Shadow into the Gardens. She stopped and smelled the fresh air"hmmmm....I dont think theres another smell like this in any part of Averan, It smells so fruity!"Ariadne giggled as she started walking again.

[Shadow]

Shadow inhaled deeply. "there are many different scents present here, all of them exotic to my senses. but the combination produces a pleasing smell. anyplace were we can sit down?" Shadow looked around. The gardens were very beautiful and well kept. he brought out the pouch and looked in again. "still cant believe what that guy had on him."

[Ariadne]

"hhhmmmm..how about over there under that tree?" Ariadne suggested"Why is it so hard to believe?" Ariadne asked Shadow as she walked towards the tree.

[Shadow]

Shadow shook his head. "Because a good thief dosent carry his wealth around. I have mine in a vault, back at my old family home, which is half burned to the ground... but still. its safe." He walked over to the tree with her and sat down.untieing the pouch, he emptyed the contents out of it. thirty or so marvelous jewels spilled out and shadows eyes glistened.

[Ariadne]

"Well you said it..he wasnt a good thief"Ariadne said as she sat down next to Shadow."But you never told me how I helped you? All I was doing was talking to you and when it did happen I just stood there wide-eyed" Ariadne said with a low laugh.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "that is exactly what you did. But, It lured the would be theif into a sence of overconfidence, which in turn allowed me to take him by surprise. Then, you pretty much stood watch while I looted his unconcious from." Shadow smiled. "So you can have your share of the profit. Take half of them, your choice of which ones."

[Ariadne]

"Hmmm..If you say so."Ariadne said giving up on the whole matter of how she helped Shadow." I dont want any jewels...I really wont have much use to them" Ariadne told Shadow

[Shadow]

He shrugged. "At least keep the diamond, as a gift from me." it was the only daimond in the bag, and it was larger than the rest of the jewels. He also grabbed three of the most vibrant jewels, and with the un-noticable skill of a theif, placed them into one of the pockets in her coat. "well, they can be usefull, espicially if you need to talk your way out of a potential problem."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne thought for a while"Youll give me no other choice.Thanks" Ariadne said as she laughed and smiled. "Im not much of a material girl." She told Shadow"Youre probably right about the "potential problem" In my old village I used to get in so many "potential problems" my mother used to ground me for days. But its not as if I was actually gonna stay there. Thats the cowards way out." Ariadne said as she sighed.

[Shadow]

he laughed. "the rebel, Eh? I wonder how i would have turned out if my family didnt die out when i was five..." he shrugged. "but, ill never know." he sifted through the remaining jewels. holding up one that was vibrantly green, he smiled. "My birthstone, the emerald." he pulled out a sword sheath, on which there were places where jewels and stones could be placed. The emerald seemed to melt in his hand to conform to the shape of one of the openings.

[Ariadne]

"I was not a rebel" Ariadne said as she playfully hit Shadows shoulder"I just stood up for what I thought was right." Ariadne said trying to defend herself."My birthstone is Sapphire."She said as she saw how the emerald melted into his sword."Thats so cool." Ariadne said praising Shadows work.

[Shadow]

He laughed. Holding his shoulder in mock pain, he rubbed it as if it hurt. "oww..." he shook his head. "yeha, its a little trick i learned from an old friend." He looked in the pile. "Do you like sapphires?" picking out a sapphire, he held it up to the sunlight, and it glistened.

[Ariadne]

"Stop being so over-dramatic"Ariadne told Shadow trying to keep a serious face, but to nno avail she smiled seconds later"Yeah, I do like Sapphires, but I dont need that one, I already have some" She said as she fondled with her "Tiara" and handed it to Shadow.

[Shadow]

Shadow looked at the tiara she handed him. "family heirloom?" He held it up to the light and noticed the ways it glistened. "very well made. how old is it? because from the way it looks, it was just made." he laughed "which is probably untrue." gently handing it back, he nodded. "so, now that we've split the spoils, what do you want to do?"

[Ariadne]

"Something along those line"Ariadne replyed."The Purple Sapphires are old but the gold part is new."Ariadne told Shadow."I dont know. What do you want to do?"Ariadne asked Shadow as she laughed
