"Insidia!" said Parin not too sure of what to make of the frightening sounding name. Then again, she thought it might be better than no name at all. "Miss Insidia, you should be careful. The people around the Inn are sort of mean to people who have uncommon or well know old names." She winced as she remembered the tortures she'd suffered when she first come down from the cave into the village. When Insidia asked her what she would do come night fall, she frowned, suddenly realizing what time it was.
"Oh no! It is late!" She thought quickly. "I don't wish to return to the Inn, but the villagers would never let me stay with them . . . " Suddenly something Evee had said came to her. "Is there a person who teaches magic and tests people anywhere in the city? I think it'd be best if I went to him - or her. I have some small talents in magic, and I suppose it would be best if I asked a teacher to take me in, that way I'd have access to not only the best care but a good teacher as well." She looked at Insidia with a gaze that said 'what do you think'?

Stunned by the child's notice of her name's meaning, her eyes widened. Insidia felt a shroud of malice, one which gave her a long lasting sigh. There was no escape from her own grief, yet she put it aside. Being a help to Parin was far more filled with importance. Insidia reached her hand around her neck, taking all of her hair in her fingers, moving it over her shoulder, in front of her. She ran her fingers through the strands as she thought. She had to be one of the most knowledgeable people in the city, this was truly dumbfounding.
"I do not know. However, I would assume a teacher would be in one of the two largest buildings. You see, I have only heard rumors, though I hear mentors are in the second largest." Pointing her hand at the building off in the horizon, she continued. "That would be which I would seek out."
Looking at Parin with sincerity and care, Insidia watched her eyes for emotions. She wished to be of aid. If she wanted to go there, she would need to leave very soon. Too many minutes too late, and night would swallow her.

Parin thought about it. She really didn't have much choice, if she stayed out here she'd might get robbed. "Very well, yes I think we should go there." Parin got up and dusted herself off and then turned to Insidia, who didn't seem to be too eager to get up. "Erm," said Parin, then she curtsied deeply. "Please Lady Insidia, will you guide me to that building? I am not sure exactly how to get there."
The top of the building was easy to see from where she stood, but she new all to well what sorts of twists and turns the Mage city could have. Getting lost was only half the trouble though. It was the running into mean things and people that Parin most feared. If it wasn't for that the dark would be her friend. She awoken in the dark to the light of a beautiful full moon only a few weeks ago.

Looking at this girl became difficult, her demands were as such as well. Insidia knew she could bring her to the area, though then she herself would be consumed by the night. She would need to return home within shadows and all that lurk within them. Oh, but there was not any way she could refuse the little girl.
"A-alright. I-I will try." She stammered
Her blackened eyes, darker than the deepest night, gazed toward the ominous sky, watching it as it slowly attempted to mimic the colors her eyes were. The deed of helping Parin was like white, the brightness of the stars cast among the dark.

Parin was happy to have someone to guide her to the big building, but was sort of concerned about how difficult it seemed to be for Insidia. "Don't worry Miss Insidia, I am sure if they let me stay at this place they will let you stay too if only till morning. And besides, the night isn't so bad, it's the people in the night that scare me! But the actual darkness can be a relief after the hot sun of the day. I enjoy both actually." As the made their way out of the gardens and toward the building, Parin held Insidia's hand so she wouldn't get separated from her and she hummed a happy tune. Soon she would have a guardian again! Maybe after Evee came back from where ever she'd gone she'd come and find her there too! Even if she wouldn't take it back at least they might see each other again to say farewell. "If you really want to, you can hear me say Only if you want to will you find a way. If you really want to you can seize the day. Only if you want to will you fly away." - -Sang Parin quietly.

The little girl's song was almost saddening, she was a happy soul but with distress and lonliness. This escorting deed was all she may do...for now.
"And there it is." Insidia spoke, once very close to the place the child wished to be.
Looking down at Parin, she knelt in front of her, showing a kind gaze. Bringing herself to the girl's level was courteous, she felt and the right thing to do. She would not continue into the place, along with Parin, she would return to the gardens, and bask in their beauty once again. Night would follow and get ahead when she made her way to the flora and growth, and the simple pleasure it would not loom over this little girl was what she had wanted.
"I will be in the gardens until early morning. That is where I want to learn. You should stay here, I wish you the best, and I wish you learn everything you could want."
A smile brushed over Insidia's face just before she came to a full postured stand. "Goodbye" she said quietly, turning herself around. The dimmed terrain was visible enough for a safe walk, and Parin had just enough time to enter the building before night swallowed the ability to see. With no more words or expressions, she began her journey to where she started, her left hand holding up her dress, stepping carefully back to natures wonder.

"Thank you Miss Insidia. I really do appreciate your showing me the building." said Parin when Insidia knelt before her. She then listened to everything Insidia had to say carefully and smiled at her when she got up to leave. "Farewell Miss Insidia! I hope we meet again someday soon! Good luck with your Herbology studies!" for Parin couldn't imagine what else there was to learn about in a garden other than Herbology. Taking a deep breath, Parin then turned toward the building, and began climbing the steps toward the great front doors.

((OOC: Oh hi! I was planning on ending this thread and beginning again at the actual Academy, but I suppose we can have a short thing here for a bit. Oh, BTW, please vote on my new poll avaren2.proboards77.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=suggestions&thread=1159936272 Thanks!)) IC: Parin was so shocked at the towering frame running at her she was to afraid to get out of the way in time. Down she fell, onto the stone steps surly bruising herself and scraping her hands as she tried to save herself. Tears began to well in her eyes as she heard the Mage apologize. "I don't have anything to carry." she told him in a trembling voice. "I have nothing in the world, but my eternal soul." little did she know but this was a traditional reply in the days of the real Parin d' Aulaire's. It was now night, and the lamps at the top of the stairs were being lit. "Where are you going in such a hurry this late at night, my lord?" asked Parin As she tried to dry her tears on her long wizard style sleeves.

"Thank you, my lord," said Parin politely as he helped her to her feet. She examined her hands as she wished again that she hadn't lost Evee. "It's ok my Lord, go ahead and meet your friend. To tell the truth I am not even enrolled here, I am simply hoping one of the Teachers will take me in as a Apprentice of sorts. Please don't let me make you late," and Parin curtsied most elegantly to the student. "My regards to your Family, and may the road ever rise to meet you." She added and turned to make her way up the stairs once more resolving to keep her eyes pealed for rushing students in the future.
