Rith had been wandering the streets of Aesir for quite some time now, his cloak flapping loosely behind him in the slightly chilled night air. He used to do this rather often in the olden days when he first came to Avaren. Though, this city in the sky was beautiful and most wondrous, it just didn't give him the same feeling of serenity Avaren used to. As his mind mulled over this, Rith slowed to a stop and let out a sigh. "It seems I've gone and depressed myself again." Rith said to himself crossing his arms. Looking about his general area, Rith's eyes foun their way to the sign of the Inn. "Ah, a place to enjoy a drink and perhaps meet some new people. Always a promising thought." Rith said to himself again as he sprung into a walk again into the Inn. Rith looked about the common room and tavern of the Inn, noticing it's state of immaculance. A smile grew across his face and he moved to hang his khaki-colored cloak on the coatrack before sauntering over to the Tavern and taking a stool at the bar patiently awaiting service.

Shadow disgruntledly stomped into the Inn. He didn't like Aesir, as there really wasn't anything fun to do or steal. Hanging his Black cloak on a peg near a khaki one, he sighed and trudged up to the bar. sighing, he sat down next to an oddly familiar looking Mage. dismissing the notion, he ordered a glass of wine. examining his neighbor out of the corner of his eye, a very distorted memory came to him from a cold stone dungeon. A memory of a man similar to the one next to him, whom Shadow recalled as a summoner. His orange eyes glinted as he handed the payment over to the bartender, who scooped it up, examined it and laughed to himself, muttering something about not fakes. Shadow growled at the man, who jumped and went silent. taking a sip of his wine, his thoughts returned to the man sitting next to him. I know he was in the dungeon with me... I just cant remember what his name was and what side of the bars he was on... Shadow closed his eyes. Damn my memory... wait... I remember now... Turning to his neighbor, he smiled. "I do believe I remember a certain young man whom utilized summoning in the dungeons of Avaren. Would that be you, Rith? My memory is befuddled, seeing as i was quite heavily drugged that day... Had to be carried out of my cell..." He shook his head, taking another sip of the wine in front of him.

Rith had recieved the Tankard of Ale he had ordered not a few moments ago, shelling out a trio of silvers to cover the cost and a fairly generous tip. Taking a breif swig from it before turning in his stool to acknowledge the one who had spoken to him. His usual friendly smile grew across his face as he recognised the man instantly. "Ah Shadow, good to see you again. I hope you're well." Rith stated with a nod before taking another sip of Ale and setting the mug back down on the bar. "Worry not of your fuzzy memories of that unpleasant experience, friend. I infact envy you for not being able to remember it." Rith added wishing he could just shake those days away like water off a duck's back. Thinking for a moment, Rith decided to take a chance in asking " Tell me something, have you ever ran across an odd looking creature recently? Long flat head, serpentine body, one or two sickle-like arms in the front?" Thinking that perhaps Shadow might know something more about the Slivers that had attacked him recently as he gently padded at the still tender would one had delivered to him with a slight cringe.

Shadow laughed. "Well, we all aren't fortunate, are we. then things wouldn't be fun." Shadow took another sip of his wine, which drained the glass, and the bartender re-filled it. Shadow nodded a thanks. and turned to Rith. "Strange creatures? I have met my share of strange creatures, but these you speak of I haven't personally seen. I heard that they are called Slivers, and It just so happens that I know a little about them." Shadow paused. usually... my information comes at a price... but no to bretheren... Shaking his head, he continued. "They have always been around, just they didn't care to show themselves, seeing as they usually hid in the abandoned citadel, being occasionally hunted by foolish mages that seldom returned. I know that they do not travel alone, and gain power and numbers when they kill. there are many different sources of them, with all kinds of power arrangement. I almost want to unleash them on the city of Avaren, But that would never be possible, because they use the primitive instinct of 'if it moves, it is an enemy, unless it is one of us.'" Shadow sighed. "they are quite nasty, especially since they have a such a wide variation of power and can augment each other flawlessly." taking a sip of his wine, shadow continued. "and with all the recent activity around and in the citadel, they must have become much more active. I'm guessing that the attack being made by the warriors on the citadel has stirred them to attack outside of their territories." Shadow drained the glass and waved the bartender, who was trying to re-fill the glass once again, away.

"Slivers, you say? Well, there name alone gives volumes of assistance to me. I thank you for your information, Shadow." Rith replied as the fog began to clear slightly in his mind. He now knew what to look for in the Library, if there were any sort of information on them there. Rith knocked back the remainder of his Ale before asking the bartender for a refill. With another gulp taken out of the tankard, Rith quickly dried his mouth on his sleeve and turned back to his impromptu comrade. "So Shadow, tell me of yourself. I realised just now that despite knowing you for how long that I have, I don't really...know you." Rith said, laughing a bit at himself and how he articulated his statement.

Shadow laughed. "I'm not sure that I know myself." He sighed. "well, For most of my life, I was a tailor's son, until i was about eight... then i don't remember anything that happened for about four years after that, except waking up in a city, getting an arrow pulled out of my leg." Shadow sighed. but i remember the years in between... but I'm not re-living them.. not ever again... "After that, I roamed the countryside for about three years, found Avaren, and began my trade, being a thief. one day, I was trying to run away from a particularly nasty guard, got cornered, and acted upon instinct." Shadow shook his head. "Three bolts of energy ripped through the man's chest, and the rest of the people around were scared witless, running away before i could do anything." Shadow laughed. "then, a good friend, whom is now dead, brought me to Aesir and showed me around. I ended up returning to Avaren, but i still trained in magic, and eventually, I am here, and this is now." He laughed again, softly. "thats my life in a nutshell. How about you?"
((mreh.. shadow doesn't remember anything from his past... except for that... at random intervals he is plagued by memories, memories that drain his strength and emotion... but he cant make heads or tails of them and forgets them in moments... oh well...)
