[Verdan]

Verdan was eager to learn magic. It was his whole life's dream, and now it had come true. He almost sprinted into the classroom, only to find it empty. He was early. Way too early. Nevertheless, he strode over to a wooden bench in the front row and carefully sat down, unsure of how stable it would be, for it seemed very thin and rickety, like all the seats in the room. Having sat down, however, he found that the bench was sturdier than anything he has ever seen. Magic was the only explanation he could find.

Verdan sat down, knowing that classes would not start soon. However, he hoped someone would be there to teach him a little bit of the arts ahead of time. He sat and waited, dearly hoping that a full-class mage would come and enlighten him in the arts of spellcasting.

[Ariadne]

As Ariadne entered the classroom she was surprised to see a boy there. She didnt really expect to see somebody, because classes started later on. She was just browsing around the Academy. Ariadne started walking towards the bench, while on her way examining evrything the tables, the chairs, and everything else in the room. As she finally approached the boy. She stood in front of him" Hello! Im Ariadne." She said with a smile

[Shadow]

Shadow, stumbled into the classroom, limping. "Wait... class dosent start fo a while does it..." He sighed and shook his head. "oh well, I need t o sit down." damn leg he limped his way over to a seat and sank into it.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne spun around after she heard a very familiar voice."Hey Shadow!!"Ariadne said as she walked up to him"Whats wrong with your leg....I heard you muttering something or the other about it"Ariadne asked in concern

[Verdan]

Verdan was sitting quietly on his bench, daydreaming about how great it would be to learn the true power of magic and at first did not notice someone else walk in. Only as she approached and greeted him did he come back to reality with a slight jolt.

"Oh, hello." he said, blinking away his thoughts, "It's nice to meet you, Ariadne. My name is Verdan. I see you're as eager to learn as I am."

Halfway through his words, a familiar figure barged into the room, limping heavily. "Ah, my good thief friend!" Verdan said, his voice heavily leaden with sarcasm. "Hello, hello. So nice to see you again!" Verdan continued, in a mock-happy voice. Then he got serious. "I see your thieving has gotten you somewhere: a hurt leg." He got up and slowly walked towards Shadow. "Would you mind if I had a look? I know a thing or two about injuries. Don't worry I won't do anything to hurt it further, I may dislike thieves but not to that point." He said, predicting what Shadow might reply to his offer.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "You may examine my leg, and the wound is not from theivery. It is actualy from sparring." He shook his head. "I dont think you could make it worse, unless you brought the pain back." he laughed again. "which is something that isnt very hard to do. but still, I trust you that much, espicially since i am still 80% mobile, its just that i have a limp." Shadow tryed to stand, but his leg wouldnt support his weight, and so he had to sit back down. he looked down at his leg, cursing. "Ok, so maybe its broken."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne coughed rather loudly, none the less it was a fake cough."I seem the two of you have met before..no need for an introduction I assume" Ariadne said as she bent down to see Shadows leg too."I dont really know much about healing"Ariadne told Shadow as she stood back up and looked at Verdan"Something around those lines."Ariadne said as she smiled at him.

[Verdan]

Verdan walks closer to Shadow and kneels before him, taking his leg in his hands. He carefully rolls it up to his knee so as not to cause Shadow any pain. He runs his fingertips down the side of the leg and feels a slight misalignment there.

"Aye, we've met before," Verdan says to Ariadne, smirking, "Though I do believe introductions are in order. People call me Verdan." He says, this time talking to Shadow, and extends his right arm for a handshake.

Turning back to the leg, he says, "Yes, it is broken, but it is not very serious. I could try to fix it, though it may hurt quite a bit. And I'll need bandages and something for a splint. If you will be so kind, Ariadne, as to get them by conjuring or by physically going to get them, whichever is in your power. Or if you, Shadow, could conjure them."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne looked at Shadows leg"I dont know much about conjuring so I guess Ill go get them "physically". Ariadne said with a shrug as she turned and began to walk out of the classroom but then came to a sudden stop and turned around "Now..where do you get bandages and a splint from?" She asked both of them. As she looked from Verdan to Shadow and so forth waiting for a reply.

[Shadow]

Shadow shrugged. "I have no idea, but you just need to re-align the bone, my body will take care of the rest." Shadow extended his right hand and shook verdan's outstretched hand "pleased to meet you, maybe we will be better this time than last time."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne walked back to Shadow."How do you re-align it?"Ariadne asked as she bit her lower lip and looked at Shadow sadly

[Shadow]

Shadow reached down and placed his hands on his leg. "if you did this to anyone else they would end up in worse condition." he grabbed his leg. now you just shift the bone here and..." There was a loud crackand shadows face went white. he cursed in pain, but he stood up without falling. Sitting back down, he rubbed his leg a bit. "But tis not strong enough for me to put my full weight against, or to try anything like running ."

[Ariadne]

Ariadnes face also went white when she heard the crack. Shes afraid of pain. "So how is it gonna heal?"Ariadne asked..while staring at him in shock.

[Verdan]

Verdan flinches slightly at the unusually loud crack. He reaches for his own leg, unknowing it, and rubs it, imagining what it must be like to get your bone snapped into place without any sort of anesthetic.

"Several things things. One, you're wrong: if you did this to anyone else they would probably pass out from the pain, but it would not make it worse." Verdan says, still slightly shocked from Shadow's brutal action. "Two, I could have numbed it before you went and snapped your bone into place. Three, what you did was incredibly stupid, for you have no idea how risky it is to put your own bone into place. You can end up mislaligning it even further. You got lucky. And finally, you need a splint for that. Not putting on a splint means risking further injury to yourself, and the bone growing back together incorrectly. Don't move."

Verdan gets up and runs out of the classroom, his cloak billowing behind him. Some time passes, until finally footsteps could be heard outside the door. Verdan jogs back into the room holding several long strips of cloth and two boards about the width of your palm and about a foot long.

"If you would allow me, I'll put the splint on." he says to Shadow.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne decided to sit down on the floor with her legs crossed. As Verdan spoke to Shadow about some numbers there. She wasnt really paying attention as she zoned off. She suddenly felt very drowsy and placed her elbow on her thigh and put her head on her hand as she fell into a nice slumber.Her long purple hair falling to her face making it unnoticable that she was sleeping.
