[Verdan]

"If we used them, we would still be mages, but not true ones at that." Verdan corrects Ariadne. "A mage has no use for blades, or any weapon for that matter. A mage has, well, magic. That is a better replacement for any blade, spear, bow, or knife."

[Shadow]

Shadow nodded. "Aye. Thats what separates you and I. you use magic, I use weapons and magic, because I cant cast spells. so it all works out." He laughed. "in some cases it is, but mastery of the sword is much easyer than mastering a spell, or so some would say. In truth, both have their advantages, and their dissadvantages." Shadow stood up and looked around. "well, I dont really see a teacher, or a class for that matter. so i think we are really on our own in this whole learning thing."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne just sat there. Listening to both Shadows and Verdans views of magic and weapons. "A disadvantage for a spellcaster is that its hard to spellcast at a close range fight but a disadvantage for a weapon user is the complete opposite to ours is that they cant win a fight from a distance except if its a bowman or something." ariadne told them. "I agree, theres no teacher in sight and we been here for quite awhile." Ariadne said while she stood up. She thne walked in front of the class. "Today class we will be learning about the basic of spellcasting." Ariadne said imitating a teacher. "May you please walk up to a desk and take a seat?" Ariadne asked them with a smirk as she stood in front of the classs with a hand on her hip.

[Verdan]

Verdan, listening to Ariadne has to exert a great amount of willpower not to contradict her words. It did not matter how far away your opponent was to send a wave of energy coursing through their veins. However, if the opponent was a swordsman, distance did, indeed, give a mage the advantage. Not wanting to start an argument, Verdan let the matter slide as he eyed Ariadne, who was showing off to an empty room, save Verdan and Shadow. Shadow may have been moved by that performance, but Verdan looked Ariadne up and down coolly before leaning back on the bench. However, seeing that it did not have a back, Verdan went toppling into the row behind him with a resounding crash, blowing whatever coolness Verdan had in his glance to pieces.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed good naturedly at ariadne's act. when Verdan fell over, he sank to the floor laughing. "Man..." his words came inbetween his laughter. "you two are quite the act! what with leaving me breathless and all." he shook his head, walked over to verdan and extended a hand. looking back at ariadne, who was acting like a teacher, he shook his head. "Well, maybe someday you'll become a teacher, but today, I dont think anyone would be able to take you seriously." he laughed again as he helped verdan up. "And what were you trying to do?"

[Ariadne]

Ariadne gave up on "teaching" as seeing none of them are going to take her serious. "Well arent both of you rebels?" Ariadne told them as she walked back to Verdan to see if hes okay. "How come I cant be taken seriously?" Ariadne asked them as Shadow helped Verdan up. She took a seat on the bench and looked at Verdan. "Yes..what were you doing....since you didnt want to take a seat in the front of the class?" Ariadne asked him.

[Verdan]

Verdan allowed himself to be pulled up back onto the bench as he shook his head, as if to clear his mind. "Blasted bench doesn't have a back. And I had to learn the hard way" he grumbles, rubbing the back of his head which he whacked on the bench behind him. He looks around to Shadow and Ariadne. "What does it look like I was doing? I was leaning back." he says, as if it's nothing abnormal to flip backwards on a bench.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "come now, you are acting as if it is abnormal to do flips off of a bench." Shaking his head. shadow mumbled something, and looked away. Turning to ariadne, he smiled. "we didnt take you seriously because of your aditude and the fact that you are younger than us." He sighed and looked back at verdan. "that sounded like it hurt."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne laughed. "Just because im younger than you doesnt mean that im not wise enough to teach you. Plus age is nothing but a number." Ariadne stated. "How was my attitude anyways?" Ariadne asked Shadow with an arched eyebrow. "Yeah...youre probably going to have a bump on your head in a while." Ariadne told Verdan.

[Verdan]

Verdan looked around at the two of them. "Is it not normal? Huh? You've never seen someone fall off a bench before?!" Verdan began to get mock-angry. After thinking for some time, Verdan reached back gingerly and felt the bump on the back of his head. "Yea, it hurt. And there is already a bump." he said as he started looking around the room for something cold. Preferably something metallic, for ice was out of the question.

[Shadow]

Rummaging around in his pouches, Shadow pulled out a flask. "here, try this on the bump. Should help with the pain." He tossed the flask to verdan and it was surprisingly cold. "Just dont open it, or you will have much more to worry about than the bump on the back of your head." Shaking his head, he laughed. "I have fallen in general more times than i'd like to either count or admit."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne stared at Shadow with a confused look upon her face. she didnt know if he had answered her question or not. She ran a hand thruogh her hair." Well....i dont think you answered my question." Ariadne told Shadow.

The doors flew open as a fuming old man barged into the classroom, his long, scraggly white hair being tossed around during the furious walk. Damned theorists, he thought, pondering on the reasons for his lateness. Of course, he had respect for magical theorists - just not when they tried to force obviously incorrect ideas down his throat; especially when he was getting ready to teach a class.

His temper subsiding, the instructor stood at the head of the classroom, paying no heed to the group of three that had become a tad too social only a few feet away from him. Those with no desire to learn simply won't learn; not my problem, he reasoned, and then proceeded to sort through a mass of papers. Simultaniously, he called out, "Roll call," waiting for the students present to call their names and prepare for the class.

[Shadow]

Shadow looked around. "Shadow" He had noticed the old man enter the room, but he had not thought that the man was actually a teacher. turning to ariadne, he also was confused. "what do you mean... Oh, right, about the additude thing..." Shadow ssmiled mischeviously. "heh... do you really want me to answer that?"

Ariadne was still staring at Shadow confused as the man walked into the classroom. She then heard him speak. She stood up and faced the direction of the man. "This must be the teacher." Ariadne thought exitedly. "Ariadne" She told him. She then turned bacl to Shadow. "I would greatly appreciate it if you do." Ariadne told him
