Tyanno sped down the halls in his usual long stride. His eyes noting the growing grandeur as he approached closer to the King's audience chamber. Shadow was not far behind him. Tyanno was rather excited, so he was walking a bit faster than he should probably had been.
Shadow had charged him with taking his aspirations to the King himself for educational endorsement and perhaps even aid the Mage defense of the city and help Alezand with the Order. Tyanno had once read of the great mage archers casting their powers down like rain with enchanted arrows and bows and mage knights entering the fray alongside traditional swordsman in the Order. But a Arcane Archer had not been seen since the Last Stand. And their legend was all but forgotten, was was their apparent skill to invoke their magic in their weapons.
And so he charged forth to state his interest with the King and see if he would find merit in the young mage's ideas. After all, the mundane forces of the zealots of Avaren had had done everything short of declaring war upon Aesir. And the forces in the defense could probably use the bolster. Hopefully, the Grand Magi would share his views. "Coming Shadow?" He called over his shoulder...

((i had a post in the thread about seeking a master... but my computer refreshed itself and I lost it.. damn thing...)) Shadow laughed at the younger man's eagerness. "of course, but i cannot keep up with your stride." laughing again, he quickened his stride, and since it was much longer than Tyanno's, he easily leveled out with him and matched his pace. "so. We go in there, acting like we know what we are doing, and request to see the Grand Magi... Hmmm... maybe he can teach us both. you how to enchant your arrows, and me to transform into a dragon. then, we can team up, and you can fire Arrows from Dragonback..." He laughed. "but, as usual, i am getting ahead of myself. We should see if he will help you first." He shook his head as they approached the desk in front of the audience chamber. Of course, it was empty. Shadow sighed. "All this for an 'out to lunch' Sign?" shaking his head, he looked around. "Awww, phooey. Lets just go on in, quietly, and if he is there, we can go from that." Smiling, he placed a hand on the entrance to the Audience chamber itself.

Avaren. Everything was always about Avaren. No matter where he went, what he did, problems seemed to find him regarding Avaren and the happenings in the neighbor city. Thus far, he had kept the two nations from all-out war, even though the current king of Avaren seemed inclined to throw everything he could possibly muster at Cain; he still did not know how to access the city of Aesir as of yet and thus was no major threat to the city itself.
"My Lord, a pair approach your audience hall, they seem intent on business," a soft voice reported to him, belonging to an attendant of his, robed in black with a deep hood over his head which masked his face as he bowed to his king, "Do you wish for me to send them away?"
"No," Cain said simply, ceasing the pacing back and forth before his throne that he had become accustomed to as of late, "I shall grant them audience."
With that, the attendant hurried back to the doors of the audience hall and, with a brief gesture, causing them to slowly creak open upon their hinges, "The Grand Magi will see you now," he said simply, bowing to Tyanno and Shadow before turning and departing.

Shadow's hand was suddenly resting on nothing, and he nearly jumped at the sound of a voice beckoning them to come in. He looked at tyanno with surprise, then looked into the grandeur that was The Grand Magi's Audience hall. He looked around only for a second, as he saw the man that opened the doors. Nodding, he resumed looking around, until his gaze traveled to the king himself. Upon seeing the king, Shadow turned, motioning to Tyanno. "come on... lets go and talk to him... he might like the idea..." his voice was barely a whisper, but the hall was so beautifully designed that the whisper carried, through minuscule echoes, making it so all in the room could hear the whisper as if shadow were whispering it to them directly. Unaware of this, he began walking forward, hands in the folds of his long, tattered cape. Upon reaching a respectful distance to the throne, he bowed with a flourish of his cape. Straightening, he stuttered around, looking for the proper words that would befit such an occasion. "uh... Hi..." he sighed, looking down at his feet and frowning. "I really don't know how to address someone in power... might be something of value to learn..."

"Your Majesty, allow me, please," Tyanno spoke up upon his partners fumble of address, kneeling before the Grand Magi. "I am Tyanno Dynam, partner to Master Alezand Jozlyn and protector of free people. I have come to a quandary as to my destiny request your wisdom and power in this matter, and thus I believe that the knowledge I seek will benefit mages and their allies in any coming skirmish with hostile forces. You see, your Highness, when my people were strong and proud, mages fought along side ordinary soldier's with enchanted weapons and their powers augmenting the fray. Mage knights with flaming blades and and Arcane Archers firing shafts of elemental devastation. My goal is to be the first mage knight since the end of my Orders days of defending. I want so desperately to be and Arcane Archer but I have no one to instruct me in enchanting my ammunition. I have stopped several times in search of a master to train under, but have found none. And my friend here suggested that you might want to hear this proposition considering the growing conflict. For this needn't end with me, a unit of these trained warriors. I ask of your opinion and help in this matter, for I fear for the land, as ties become more strained each and every day."
Tyanno paused and then moved on, "I also bring good news, my Lord. Lord David Augustine has founded a free village and elected Master Alezand Jozlyn as it's military leader. They have requested a alliance with Aesir and free trade between the two locales. Mages and warriors alike are free to live without scorn in this village and the leaders send their greetings. They will need Aesir's support and they lend theirs I'm sure in any way that they can..."

Hope you don't mind me joining >< I really don't know where Adiana would be if she wasn't with Tyanno...
The young woman had followed Shadow and Tyanno into the mage city, and what a splendid place it was. Naturally though, she couldn't really sight see lest she get left behind. And that was exactly what had happened. She had stopped to look at something and when she turned around, neither Shadow nor Tyanno were there. For a split second she felt panic seize her heart. For the first time since meeting the two she had been separated from both of them! I don't know where I am! What do I do!? She thought a bit nervously. Her violet gaze continued to dart around frantically for her friends but she could not find them.
Panic still seized her but she soon began to calm herself. She was in a mage city, no one would harm her. Adiana swallowed hard and took in a deep breath to calm her nerves even more. "Concentrate," she whispered to herself. She would locate their auras. It shouldn't be too hard to do. They were, after all, the most familiar ones to her. With her focus now on locating their auras, she began her search. It led her to an Academy where the auras grew stronger. She followed it to a beautiful chamber.
When she saw it, she gasped and paused; hesitant to set foot into the chamber when she was not truly invited. But she saw Tyanno and Shadow, and thus she cautiously entered the chamber and saw the King of the mages. Her breathing increased and she felt a sense of awe. Adiana bowed to him slowly and a bit nervously. When she straightened she looked him in the eye and said, "I apologize, your majesty, for barging in like this... I got separated from my two companions." With that she motioned towards Tyanno and Shadow. Once more she bowed and then straightened, her violet gaze a little nervous, but always strong.

Shadow sighed, letting Tyanno take over the speaking department. Right before Adiana popped in, he added his bit. "Oh, and I have a similar predicament, but i am training to be a shapeshifter, and havent been able to find any master or instructor that is of higher ability than myself to help me train. Do you have any advice?" he looked around as Adiana entered the room, bowed, and explained herself. He waved, but turned hs attention back to the king. I wonder... will he be able to help?

"You would bow and state your name and purpose, referring to said person in power by some title reflecting upon that power." Cain said curtly to Shadow's first statement, a bit irked that he would not know even this much about proper courtroom etiquette, yet still, he made the effort, which was always commendable.
With a dismissive gesture, he waved aside the apology of the girl who had burst in after the other two, brushing it off as something of no importance before addressing Tyanno once more with the true heart of the problem.
“You first proposition I see no problem with, for what is Aesir designed for but a place of learning? If there are those willing to be taught, then there are always those willing to be the teachers, though your vision seems very flawed to me, as mages and warriors are now too far sundered, I believe, to be brought together under one front. What’s more is that you would only most likely be able to find help with the actual magical part of your goals, for there are probably few in this city truly skilled with handling a bow.” he said in response, nodding nonetheless as though he approved of the idea.
“Of course,” he continued, though with growing doubt in his further propositions, “I do wonder why you wish for Aesir’s support so immediately after it seems you have founded your village unless you have some problems with Avaren that you fear they might attempt to resolve.” There was a stern tone taking hold of his voice as he spoke now, “It seems almost as though, even if you will not say it, that you wish for Aesir to fight your war for you. Let me tell you, though, that you would be greatly mistaken. We have had no war here in Aesir for many long years while Avaren must constantly fight off either foreign powers or monsters of all shapes and sizes. As a result, we have no standing army at all, while Avaren’s standing army is quite sizeable. Furthermore, many of my mages require intricate gestures or quick access to spell components, which makes bulky armor of great detriment, thus my would-be troops would be poorly armored, in addition to lacking the endurance for prolonged conflicts, as spells greatly drain mages very quickly if they are to be of a magnitude great enough to be of useful effect. Aesir is not suited to war, and with Avaren mercifully unaware of the location of my city, then so long as my people stay away from Avaren, everything will turn out well.”

"I am sorry M'lord, I fear you misunderstand me. Alezand and David are not requesting military action short of mages who want to join Alezand's militia. But they have merely set up a free place for both Mage and Warrior. Why should our people here have to live in fear everyday if they venture out to the lake, or need to visit the Market place. They should not have to stay locked up here only. They should be free. David has built and founded a place where they can gather outside of these walls, and Alezand has built a volunteer militia to protect ourselves and our venturing allies in this land." Tyanno began, rather taken aback by the Kings jump to the conclusion that They were seeking someone else to do they're dirty work.
"He and his people watch over everyone of us that pass through here. His ranks have been filled by the various smugglers and heroes who have been giving new traveling mages safe and escorted passage to Aesir. Now that resistance for our safety has been organized, and is still growing. But Alezand is not looking on making war. He may have plans to better this land for all of us, but I think his has proven he is not a foolish one. David, as our leader and mayor and Alezand as our captain are only extending a hand of peace, and invitation to us here in Aesir and a request of trade, in financial truce. They are a small place and can benefit from business and new patrons from our world, to help it grow into a prosperous town." Tyanno explained.
He knew Alezand and his intentions. That man was going to do all that was in his power to protect others caught in the middle of this conflict. That was his calling. David, Tyanno gathered, was more subtle in his workings. It seemed that he was just setting a sanctuary up for all people, not just mages, and not just warriors. All Tyanno knew for sure was that he was the messenger.
"On the other mater, my King, I have stopped several times into the learned halls of the Academy in hopes of finding one to teach me the arts of enchantment and other skills I will need to make my path possible. Perhaps there is one you suggest or have another suggestion as to our solution to our puzzle. Miss Adiana and I have much eagerness in our quest I assure you guarantee our dedication to whatever advice you assign us."

The dismissive gesture from the king was both relieving and a bit aggrivating. Sure, her bit wasn't the most important part but he could have at least awknowledged the fact that she was there, perhaps a greeting or something! But then this isn't home, she thought sadly. She shrugged it off. Adiana would live, she was good at that. So, in silence she listened to the king speak, then Shadow, and then Tyanno. At her companion's last words she nodded her. "Yes, I too seek training. I have very little control of my power," she said matter-of-factly. Her violet gaze flicked towards Shadow and Tyanno, and then back to the king. She needed that training...
