The World, as it was once called, was a giantic landmass where several different(known) races coexisted. These races were each unique in their own rights. The untamed anthromorphs, humanoid beings which held certain animalistic traits. The mysterious shinobi, a people shrouded in mystery, capable of using powerful magics known as jutsu. The noble dragoons, those who have bonded with the spirits of ancient dragons. The proud griffon riders, those who have formed a lifelong friendship with the legendary griffons. The wandering samurai, masters of the sword. And, last but not least, the diverse human population, no two individual the same.
Each race held their own 'capitals', cities or lands where the greatest density of their population were to be found. The anthromorphs were mostly found in a huge forest, dubbed the Forest of the Wild. The shinobi lived in hidden villages, the largest and most famous being Hokage village. The dragoons had their capital in a large mountain dubbed simply Dragoon Mountain. The griffon riders' capital lay hidden from most, to outsiders it was known only as the Griffon Aviary. The samurai lost their homeland long ago to the shinobi, thus they became a race of wanderers. The humans held their capital in a massive city dubbed Brightvale.
For eons these races lived in The World in relative peace. Battles did sometimes occur between races, the most famous being the Dragoon-Griffon war, an event which even today fuels the grudge between the two races. However, several events were to occur which would change The World forever...
Winter of the First Year
For many months, the tyrant Diedriel had plagued The World, having first appeared in what was once known as Battle City during the finals of the March World Tournament, unleashing his seemingly endless army of bloodthirsty creatures in countless areas of The World, claiming thousands, if not millions of lives in the process. Many warriors of various races stood up to oppose him and it was perhaps the greatest example of the races working together against a common threat. Eventually, the tyrant was defeated, his heart separated from his body, his evil armies destroyed once the organ had stopped beating.
The aftermath of this struggle not only scarred many areas of The World, but it caused disrest among many of the races. The dragoons broke their treaty with the griffon riders and the two races were once more at war with one another. The other races were mostly neutral in this feud, as they had been in the past, but it wasnt long before the dragoons and the griffon riders were not the only groups at war.
Spring of the Second Year
Continued fighting of the dragoons and griffon riders has resulted in heavy casualties on both sides. Both capitals have begun to be besieged by either side and no signs of peace seems likely. At this time, the human race, always a species of progress and development, had begun to establish settlements on the outskirts of what is discovered to be shinobi territory. The developers were punished severely once discovered by the ninja and thus a tension began to grow between the humans and the normally secluded shinobi race. An ambassador is sent by the king of Brightvale to the only known location of a shinobi village....the man never returns. Deciding not to show weakness, the human race declares war on the shinobi, and thus another conflict begins...
Winter of the Fourth Year
Both the capitals of the dragoon and griffon riders have been utterly put to ruin, both races severaly depleted in numbers. Not wanting an end to either of their species, the surviving dragoons and griffon riders drew up a treaty, putting an end to their fighting. Meanwhile, samurai mercenaries have joined the human ranks, while the anthromorphs continue to remain neutral. Brightvale is utterly destroyed by a powerful shinobi spell, thousands are killed.
Fall of the Fifth Year
The former king of Brightvale is slain by a legend among the shinobi race. Orion Armstrong becomes the sole heir to the leadership of the remaining human race. Despite their allies, the humans have taken even heavier losses than the numbers of both the dragoons and griffon riders combined. Orion, despite the warning of his advisors, travels into the shinobi territory alone. Although greeted rather roughly, he manages to make contact with the high council of shinobi elders, essentially the core of the shinobi race. After proving himself to the elders, he manages to gain their trust and eventually works out a peace treaty that ends the war between the two races.
The Aftermath...
Such chaotic happenings over the last five years have reshaped The World. No longer is it one single landmass. Instead, it has been divided by several oceans. New mountain ranges have formed, volcanic islands have risen from the depths, and forests have both grown and been cleared away. The leaders of the known races have met all at once for the first time in recorded history, discussing territory claims and terms that would hopefully cause more balance between them all rather than more argument. The result of that first meeting is what has brought things to the way they are now.
The dragoons claimed land in the South, renaming their capital after the legendary water dragon Pharlen. The griffon riders claimed land in the North, building their new capital upon a large mountain which they dubbed Arkazan. The shinobi claimed land in the far East(where most of their original homeland was anyways), their largest known village now being Mizukage. The anthromorphs, which were now quite abundant due to their relative neutrality during the wars, spoke up in order to claim new land(since their largest forest had burned down during the chaos of the wars), choosing the Southwest, naming the area Amon Zeru. The remaining samurai, though extremely small in number, were finally rewarded for their efforts during the war, given land in the Northeast, their new land being dubbed Terrayama. The humans, though their numbers were extremely diminished, claimed land in the West, naming their new capital Rahn.
Each representative of each race agreed that peace was the best option in order to keep each of their species thriving. Thus, they vowed that so long as they remained in charge over the majority of their races, they would do their best to honor one another's new territory claims and put aside old grudges. They would, of course, also try to spread this feeling of respect amongst their kind, and thus hopefully create a foundation for which future generations could continue to thrive from, without war and strife.
...This is what has occured up until this very day. Each race has settled into their new homelands, beginning anew. Relations between the races have never been better, there is no more seclusion, each knows about the other, and commerce between the races has brought new ideas, inventions, and products into the world, which, by a vote between the races, is now known as...Vaenon
But one can only wonder...is this peace going to last forever? Or will more conflict and chaos arise from the depths of darkness to plague this newfound eden? There are many strange, uncharted lands and bodies of water that have arisen over the years of war, who knows what new secrets and surprises they hold? Only time will tell...
