It was the main reason why he had left. David's family was never one to have only one house as they did for a while live away from Avaren. They didn't visit the city unless it was urgent and for his very own father. Other than that Avaren was never his true home or a place for him to stay. Though he did decide to reside there for some time, but the current events have forced him to leave as he saw the injustice that was occuring.
Not only did he decide to leave for his own, but he invited several people that he knew was suffering from the very same unjust ways that have occured. Some of the warriors that he had decided to invited had some type of a relationship with a mage and was impounded for that as well. Those where the ones that he invited and he had also spread out his hand towards mages that were in hiding.
His own land had several houses on it that where once for the servants that worked on the land. However, time has passed and those servants had either left or died. The houses now empty and in somewhat of a poor condition except that of the very house that belonged to his family. He told the people that they would be able to reside in the other houses and provide the necessities needed to repair them if they chose so to make them more comfortable.
He had given directions towards the location of the plot of land that was claimed many generations ago by his ancestors knowing well, that it could very well become a village or even a city. He also asked them to meet at the largest house which would be his own. If they were already there they would end up waiting on the porch or in the front yard. Either way, he had hoped that Insidia was well. As she had chosen to leave his side and attempt to survive on her own. Something that he was uncomfortable with.
He had entered the village limits of Repaer, the name of the place that he had given it. As the abandoned citadel wasn't too far away and more lives where claimed trying to obtain this ideal piece of property than anything else. However, he knew good and well that only a handful of men would be needed to defend this place from an army because the surrounding wild life was of a wide assortment. The creatures have grown accustom to the village actually existing and thus rarely traveled towards it and stayed the safe distance knowing that they would be targeted and be put in the way of danger.
David stopped in front of the gates that surrounded the very house that belonged to him. His blue eyes scanning the house and the yard as he gave a sigh of relief that he would be able to rest tonight, knowing that none from Avaren's army that wasn't a friend of his would be disturbing him. Though he knew that the warriors that resided there would end up hunting him down. He would have to recruit more people to help defend this land.

Alezand had finally broken away from the aroused crowd and strode along his way towards the residence of David Augustine. Though Alezand and his people never pledged to any ruler, David was a different case. Alezand needed a base in which to pool resources and gather peoples support. He knew that it was up to him to end the growing war between the cities and the classes. And David needed a military leader to take up some of the burden of leading and defending this village. So they struck a bargain. And it was to Alezand's liking anyhow, as he was still able to serve the people as a protectorate. Besides, David was no ruler, he was just a leader like Alezand. And now he had the start of a standing militia, and he would not need an entire army to take on what he was slowly forming in his mind. But he did need the people's support. He served them, and thus would not make conflict on their behalf if it was not wished.
So now he trotted up the winding road out to the largest house on the plot. He soon caught up with David himself and noted that they were alone for the moment. He knew that Tyanno and the others would be along soon, but at least for now they could discuss somethings perhaps in seclusion. He was sure David had more to say to his new captain. Alezand admired the man. He had not dealt with him much prior, but he had heard of his exploits, and they were birds of a feather. And now they were equally hunted men who only crime was standing for someone else. "Hello my friend. Not a bad start I'd say. I have received word of others who did not arrive. I fear the worst in their safety. But at least we have this start. I appreciate you backing me there. It meant a lot in the way to convincing them." He greeting, coming up beside the mayor. "Is there anything else you like me to do whilst we are here alone?"

"No, not a bad start at all." David replied with a smile. He had emptied his mind of other thoughts and pushed back up front everything that had just transpired. The majority of the people here were going to end up supporting them. Even someone that wasn't from neither Avaren or Aesir as it would seem would be supporting them. Of course, David knew that there were more, but they weren't present at the time.
"No, Alezand, you've done enough for now. Just continue to keep the people's spirits high and to figure out any possible ways of fortifying this village better. It isn't nessecarily developed like Avaren, but hopefully in time it will be like the greater city. And hopefully it will be like I dream it to be." he spoke to the warrior. He was to be David's military leader and was greatful that the man stepped up to take the position. After hearing the man's story, he had sought him out and found him not to long ago. He was glad that he was able to offer Alezand a chance to be a true defender of the people and to be free of the chains of a mad priest.
"We might be alone for now, but I believe that you can be expecting others." David spoke once more. "Other than that, I am planning on heading back into Avaren. I don't know how long I will be, but I will hopefully be able to bring a few people out that I know was left there. I know that the risk of me being captured is great, but it is necessary." After is last statement, David went quiet and continued to walk down the winding path which eventually lead to a gate that was already open. He walked through it and then continuing on the path that eventually lead to the porch of the house that he resided in.

Alezand sigh at these words, "And I expect that if I said I'd come with you, you would state that it's out of the question. Very well my friend, though I do suggest taking one of our number here with you. You never know what trouble you'll encounter, and we can't afford to lose anyone, especially you. I'll watch over the town while you are gone." He replied. The breeze rolled through the clearing and ruffled Alezand's growing hair. He had not the chance to trim it back in weeks. The light dusting of snow crunched under his boots as they meandered around the plot.
"I do suspect something. Not that soldier that passed through, but that dark soul that was the last to speak. Tyanno reacted funny later. He then told me that the man fit the description of the attacker wielding illusionary and beast control powers. Tyanno barely escaped with his hide intact. And the way he questioned every thing we said and spoke of knowing events he was not present for. I wonder of his validity. I would advise on keeping an eye on this character if you should find him in the City in your travels. I fear we have already made new enemies. This may be the rantings of a paranoid soldier who has been through to much, but then again, I have yet to steer wrong." They at last reached the porch. Alezand, though was rather displeased David's decision to return at this time, understood all too well. They all had unfinished business with the city and it was what Alezand would probably do in his place. Alezand was a bit of a rogue any how, but now he was a leader, as he was meant to be...

The whispering voices of men, carried by the fresh air. Air which no longer brought the tinge of death and decay along with it. Men were in the near distance, most would never have crowded this area, years ago, when Noctis was years younger. Assumptions, and curiosity aside, a slight smirk went over his lips, more men meant more answers. Though if they had seen his daughter, something would make his blood burn with passion to kill, ah, but, that was nothing unexpected. The blood of man would not be satisfying, not at this time, not for this cause.
All he could hear was mumbling babel, the wind could not carry the words. Noctis moved his legs faster, walking a rapid pace, looking at the men, watching them form into the such clearly, approaching a home they stood at. His eyes forced tears to submerge back into the depths of his head, the thought of these men giving work of his daughter's death was pestilence.
One man stood out more than the other, one with bluer eyes, darker hair, Noctis was drawn to his leading voice, something...about him. He stopped his steps inches before that man, looking him down-wards and up. Noctis gave a tilt of his head, his greying black locks flowing behind his shoulders, folding his arms, letting that hair drape onto his back, whisking at his elbows. He stared at his man, putting one foot onto the edge of the home's porch, breathing in the air.
"I have a daughter. She is beautiful, her hair is like the wings of a raven, her eyes are mine, darker than the shadows, her skin is nearly as white as the snow when it is winter, her stare, that is like winter itself. You will tell me..Young Man, have you seen my daughter?" He then spoke, his voice heavy and strong, his stare unmoving.

Post by Akai Honmura on Dec 14, 2006 10:09:56 GMT -5
Akai had wanted for some time now to ask the mayor of this new town who the captain of his guard was. She needed training. Even with her memories of master, she had recently realized that her current strength could protect no one. She had agonized over it in her mind, along with her recent weight problem, and had decided to find a guard captain to teach her something. If she found the right person, she might even return to her old home to impress master. She shook everything not related to her request from mind, stopping just outside the gate to gather her composure. She noticed some figures in the yard of the mayor's house. Well, one of them was sure to be the mayor. But still...
One of the men bothered her. He looked familiar, yet not quite. She was sure she had seen him somewhere before, but not where. Chills ran through her body as she came closer, opening the gate. Her stomach clenched, and her mind screamed for her to run away, but she could not. She stood near the gate, frozen in place. The very man's presence caused fear in her heart. She had felt fear before, though. She wasn't one who had never seen true battle. She swallowed hard, and steeled herself to approach. She had only felt fear this badly when she had first fought in battle. Words could not describe how insignificant she felt as she walked up beside him, yet her features betrayed none of this. As she came closer, she heard the man speak of his daughter.
"I have a daughter. She is beautiful, her hair is like the wings of a raven, her eyes are mine, darker than the shadows, her skin is nearly as white as the snow when it is winter, her stare, that is like winter itself. You will tell me..Young Man, have you seen my daughter?"
An image immediately fluttered to mind. Who was this girl? The picture was so distorted. It wasn't like Akai to forget a face. The image became clearer, and she remembered something more, something about her tea. She thought harder, and the picture became clear. A woman, with dark eyes, like Akai's own, and pale skin. She had seemed... lonely. Now, what was her name? Akai pondered deeply, wondering how she could forget someone's name so quickly... A name. What was that woman’s name? I**i**a… Her name was something like that. She just couldn’t think of it. Insidia! That was it! Insidia! How could she have forgotten?
Still, she couldn’t muster the will to speak up. Her thoughts were clouded still by fear of the man before her. His eyes were just like Insidia’s, however. How bad could he really be? She knew people couldn’t be judged so easily. But… Insidia had seemed worried about something… Could she have been worried because of her father? Akai felt fear just being near him. What would living with him have been like? She decided to stop worrying and speak up. She opened her mouth, but nothing came out. She grew annoyed. She tried once more, yet nothing. Even more annoyed, she decided that she couldn’t wait another moment to speak. She forced a frightened whisper out from her lips. “This- This girl, what was her- her name?” She couldn’t even hear herself, though. How could she expect others to hear her? She closed her eyes, and gathered all of her courage. Opening her eyes, she spoke in her normal tone, “This girl, what was her name? Insidia?”

David let a small chuckle escape from his mouth. A smile was on his face and he placed a hand on Alezand's shoulder. "Alezand, you are a very noble friend and I am honored to call you as such." he stated, "But I will have to go alone on this one. The people here will need everyone's help. But I do suggest keeping an eye on that shady character. In fact, that is another reason why I will be going to the city."
David then turned fixing to open the double doors to his house. However, the sound of footsteps crunching hitting the soft soil and grass that made the majority of the yard. He turned around slowly starting with his head to see who was approaching. David's deep blue eyes locked onto the darkened eyes of the individual who had made their appearance. He heard the man's words and what he was asking. The lady that he spoke of seemed to match a description of Insidia. However, he wasn't one to give information of someone that he cared about that quickly.
Then another spoke up. David's eyes darted towards the female warrior. She looked like she had some experience, but could use some more training or what not. The way she spoke generally gave that. His eyes widened as he heard the name of the lady, Insidia. So this girl knew Insidia or had ran across her. The mayor's gaze shifted from the female warrior back towards the dark man who had made his appearance. If David was to speak, he would have to carry his words carefully for if he spoke of the wrong thing...and if this man was indeed her father...then there was no telling what might be instore for the leader of Repaer.

Noctis closed his eyes for a moment, a smile displaying over his lips. Someone had seen his daughter, an approaching woman who he had not seen on his way here.
"Y-yes...That is my daughter...She-"
Something troubled the father as answered that female, he noticed something about the man before him, who he never turned his vision from. His eyes, the black within those blue pools expanded, they made nervous looks at the female and Noctis himself. Most men were such treacherous ones, he had seen them, and they gave such similar looks, his eyes, they tempted him, his heart quickened, adrenaline filled his veins, coursing throughout his tall body.
"You have seen Insidia..."
Immediately following the words, his rage compelled him, the adrenaline went through his mind, that man's nervous blue eyes made Noctis' stomach feel as if it turned, and within the immediate rush, he threw his right perfected fist toward the man's face, using as much strength as he could within the few seconds his thoughts wished him to do so. Ah, how sweet it would be to see this one's skull in pieces...

Alezand stepped forward fast, rapidly sensing the hostility rising in the dark man before the party. Blade singing its clearance of its sheath. He deflected the blow away with his own braced arm, but brought the brilliant edge to bare, standing between David and the man. "You are sure you want to have that blow to fall on contact, because I assure you, visitor, mine will fall swifter..." Alezand warned as he brought his guard back up, though it wasn't held as tight as usual.
"Now you came seeking information. I don't think you are going to win favor for your inquiry if you remain hostile. You must understand that you are a stranger, seeking information. We have no idea whether you are who you claim to be, thus we are already reluctant to hand over information that may be harmful. These are dangerous days." He explained further. "Now I do invite your presence, if you can hold your assumptions and rage. If we see that you intend no harm, then we shall confer our knowledge to you, perhaps even aid you. But not before." Alezand said and stepped back slightly, releasing his stance a little more, in a show of neutrality...

David's posture and expression changed from the moment that the visitor was beginning his attack. His eyes showed focus and concentration on what he was about to do. One hand clasping the hilt of one of his swords and taking on step forward fixing to halt what the man was doing. However, Alezand stepped forward and already took care of the situation seemingly. David seemed a bit hesitant to say anything after this, but he didn't really feel that it was necessary for someone like Alezand to do such a thing.
David let out a heavy sigh and then relaxed shifting back into a normal standing position. He looked on towards Noctis with his blue eyes examining the man. "In no fashion of disrespect, sir, but if you can not retard your anger and aggression you will not recieve any assistance from me." David spoke with authority in his voice, "If it is a fight that you are looking for, the fight that you seek is not here...at least not yet. It's better if we explain our cituations and everything else before one goes jumping to conclusions."
The mayor shook his head and let out another heavy sigh. He turned around and opened the double doors to the house that belonged to him. He walked through and then motioned the rest to follow suit. He walked down the hallway past the dining room and living area and into another room that was filled with various weapons and maps. A table was in the center of the room and chairs were positioned around the table approximately four chairs per side giving enough room for anyone to sit down. David remained standing and turned his attention to Noctis. "So you are Insidia's father." he stated, "It's a pleasure to meet you. I owe a great deal to your daughter for assisting me while I was at the brink of death. So yes, I have seen her though she parted ways with me a while back. And I fear that she may have been captured within Avaren and unable to escape. I tried to convience her to leave the city but I have seen no signs of her yet. It greatly troubles me." His last statement being no louder than a whisper.

OOC: Hey David, what happened to Sparky's post where he attacked your character? He told me about it missing, and so it is, he also swore to me it wasn't him who deleted it. Fae wouldn't, he can't, he hasn't been around either, Cain wouldn't, and let's see, oh, I wouldn't. It WAS there, I've seen it.
First Eragon comes back to life, now we have someone avoiding getting their character attacked by deleting other member's posts. I have two conversations to have with Cain now!
This thread is locked until I speak with Cain.

David, deleting the post was in fact an abuse of power. Please refrain from doing the such again. If there is a particular reason you think a post should not exist, talk to staff, or the person who made it. If you just delete a post someone made without permission from them once more, you will use your moderator privileges.
Sparky does not wish to post his reply again.

Murtagh eyed the place increduously. It was big. Real big. He wondered how he could have stood here. Eragon was last invited, but now he's dead so Murtagh had to take his place. He wondered if he was allowed to enter this mayor's house. David augustine was his name. OOC: Err, i am previously Eragon but since Era is dead, I have to use Murt instead So err Alezand?
