Hi everyone. For the longest time I have been working on a fan fiction plot for the Star Wars universe. My stories use none of the actual franchise. All character's are of my creation. So are some ships and even a few locations as well. But mostly I am working on my own story playing in Lucas's "sandbox". This is eventually being created on my own site at
www.blckglassraptor.proboards91.com , but I am having some problems with some of the admin parts. I shall prolly ask Cain for advise and answers to certain questions and when I fix things, I will post here that the site is ready for members. here is the first chapter sample of my work in progress, Dark Aura.
Chapter 1:
"Good morning, the time is 0545. You have six new messages. None are priority..." the electronic female voice rattled on as with every morning. Alezand rolled out of bed in his usual daze. He entered the fresher and cleaned up without his consciousness acknowledging it. He threw on his tunic and robes, and strapped on his tall leather boots as his head began to stop swimming. He prepared his breakfast and consumed it in haste as he realized that he was running late. With one last bid farewell to his beautiful gray Vektian cat, he shot out the door and out into the lush green forest around his home. Naboo was the most beautiful planet to Alezand, and loved every day he spent here. Alezand strolled down the hill to the clearing where three younger soldiers were standing.
"Morning Master Jedi." they all greeted in unison. Alezand Jozlyn bowed his reply. Ah, another great morning he thought as he turned to the sun rising gently in the hills. He attention was redirected as his ears picked up the faint hum of the drop ship approaching. Within a few moments, the large craft descended the canopy above and hovered before the men gathered there. They quickly boarded the ship as it rose above the foliage again and took off towards the west. Though the Academy was only a few miles away, it was much faster and reliable to fly in to the complex.
The immense complex came into view within a few minutes, stretching out among the clearing below. The ship circled once before setting gently down on the pad. Alezand descended the ramp and into the throng of personel and Jedi coming and going on the deck. Alezand found the path and strode into the south west wing of the Academy. Around a corner, up some stairs, around another corner, Alezand quickly made his way through the thick mass of humans and aliens that were stationed here.
At last, he reached his temp quarters. This was place for him to relax and store his things during the day, not enough to live in though. He rustled through the organized clutter, gathering the necessary documents and forms needed for todays briefings. Rushing out the door, he dove into the familiar mass again. His uncanny agility however kept him moving at a good clip while not running into the passersby. Descending again via a turbo lift, he came out on the southeast wing, his eyes frantically searching. After a moment, a voice rose above the din of the great hall, "Alezand!, over here. Hello, are you blind?" He saw the owner of the sardonic inquiry and smiled as he made his way to the tall, slender woman in the corner.
Ash Higenis was kind and pure hearted. She often stood on the more moral side of issues. She was klutzy despite her frame, quirky in conversation and a close friend in the last six months. She was very talented, though she did not believe so, which held her back in some ways. But Alezand trusted her and wouldn't trade her friendship for anything. With Linz Aoda out on the Rim and Tyanno on his quest, Ash had found a place as a partner along side Jozlyn, at least for now. This was rather ironic considering the past relationship they held. Reserved, Ash didn't meld well with Alezands free and sometimes wild spirit. But, the two had rubbed off on each other. Alezand becoming more and more relaxed at times while Ash had found her goofy side.
Alezand made his way to the tall, slender woman standing there waiting for him,"So what have you got for me? San already told me some of whats going on." He asked. "Well theres a lot happening with the Ord Mantel situation. But, it's better that you wait for Bojannia to show up. She's bringing a young Jedi that knows a great deal about the situation there." answered Ash, thoughtfully playing with a lock of her long, dark reddish brown hair. Her hazel eyes glanced up at Alezand, who was now watching the the passing crowd, his hand running through his blonde hair quickly as he always did when he was thinking fast.
"Anyone we know?"He asked, turning back to the pale complexioned face watching him. "I know her through San, they're close friends. Her name is Hermione Di'alee." She said, as her eyes flicked over his shoulder. Alezand turned around again, for right on cue arrived Jedi Master Bojannia Mirinovanig. Bo was a very powerful warrior, mostly due to her strong will, determination and fiery spirit. Her brown eyes betrayed her intense personality. Good natured, but a terrible foe to have. Anything that threatened her, her friends, or what she stood for, did not stay there for long. She was medium height and of slender, graceful build. Her attractiveness accented by her mane of long, wavy light brown hair.
The young woman behind her in tow was never the more a contrasting character. Hermione was short, barely coming up to Alezand's shoulder. her dark eyes showed none of the fire that Bo's did. Instead, they told of her happy, slightly mischievous nature. She was thin like Bo, but decisively more curvaceous then her counterpart. her shocking bright copper hair was short, just gracing her jawline. She was no where near as confident Bojannia, either, as betrayed by their strides.
Hermione locked Alezands teal-blue eyes only for a moment, before quickly averting her own as she bowed. "Master, I am Hermione Di'alee. Have been brought to assist you with my knowledge of the Ord Mantel mission. I hope that I am of worthy use to you." "I'm sure you will, and from now on it's just Alezand. What can you tell me of the problem at hand?" Alezand said as he waved her to stand up. "Much, Master Alezand. I am originally from the planet and returned upon receiving my first missions. I have witnessed much of the trouble unfolding and I fear that if we don't act soon, something awful is going to happen." replied the young Jedi.
"Not to worry, my dear. I look forward to your information later today. Unfortunately, I fear that I have some other things I have to attend to before I can sit and hear what you have for us. Meet me in holo-room 210, level two. Ash can tell you where that is if you don't know. be there at 1300 and we shall put together what we shall do of this problem at hand. I fear that something more sinister is at hand, though." And with that, Alezand bid them farewell, turned on his heel and entered the room beside them.
He quickly found a spot next to Jedi knight Marcans Precorom and turned his attention to the tech sergeant that was about to give a briefing on some new field technology that would perhaps help in the missions ahead.
Alezand sighed, for he knew, at least in his heart and in his gut, of path that lay ahead. Despite what seemed like general chaos around the galaxy following a conflict of extreme unpredictability and lack of morals, something just tugged at Alezand, telling him that there was something that he just wasn't seeing.
"Morning." Greeted Marcans. He was a long standing friend, fighting along side Tyanno and Alezand during the Killik war. He was the same height as Alezand, but a stronger build. His eyes were darker blue and his head a shock of spiky red hair much like Hermione's. A maverick and skilled pilot, Marcans was more of a free spirit than most in Jozlyn's team. He was an expert pilot in almost forms of fighter craft and thus made him one of the leading men in the elite jedi dominated defense wing, known as the Firestorm Squadron.
"Morning, so whats Jupan putting out this time. Hope not another botched armor brief" Alezand replied. Jupan was a senior officer of the academy and instructed on science technologies in use buy the Galactic Alliance and by their enemies. It was supposed to be a interesting and informative class, except when jupan taught it. She often mis-quoted data, overlooked descriptions and hated to be corrected on her lousy reference of information. Alezand detested her and her methods, but often found he had no choice but to hear out some of her ranting presentations.
Today it seemed she was going to discuss poisons and their chemical make ups. This ought to be a riot, Jozlyn thought darkly. So and hour went by as Jupan messed up the symbols on several formulas and mis-described the certain processes of treatment. Jozlyns mind wandered to the current problem he had to solve
Chapter 2:
Jedi Master Tyanno Dynam was standing on the bridge of the super stardestroyer Black Star, looking out the viewport at the planet. Ord Mantel was originally a military outpost, then one of the galaxy's biggest tourist destinations. Now it was a pot of boiling anger and blood. It started when random people started to go insane and kill others, for no apparent reason, and would not stop their rampage unless killed. At first, it was blamed on some drug or mind altering device. But medical tests on the afflicted showed no sign of abnormalities.
Neurologically, these people were committing these atrocities under their own volition. So the blaming started. fingers pointed everywhere, and soon groups arose and sides were taken. Now the violence has erupted between the people who aren't even affected with these deadly trances, while more attacks continue each a nd every day.
Some groups have accepted help from the Galactic Alliance, but others are suspicious of the government and have blockaded and even attacked military and Jedi vessels sent to aid the situation. So now Tyanno sat waiting, on one of the most powerful capital ships ever birthed, and complete with troops, starfighters and Jedi all ready. Ready for word from Alezand on how to resolve this particular mess. He hoped Jozlyn would think of something soon. He didn't like this one bit, sitting guard over the planet, while the violence raged uncontrollably, and yet still no one knows where it had started or who was behind it. But it was sinister, whatever it was. This was no incident, no, this was a message. Sent to Alezand and the other Jedi of things to come. And it scared Tyanno.
" Master Maginel wishes to speak with you..." a wiry haired junior officer piped up from behind Tyanno. "Bring her here, she doesn't need permission. She is my equal if not my superior." He replied, turning to the young man. "Of course sir, it's just that, well, you're the commander of this fleet and current ranking commander over this operation..." he trailed off when he saw Tyanno motion him gentle to silence his explanation. "That may very well be, but she is a much more experienced Jedi than I and I give every due respect I can. Come, waste no more of her time. Whatever she has to say, it must be important."
The Lieutenant turned on his heel and strode out of view and a moment later a tall, attractive and intelligent looking woman strode onto the bridge. Elena Maginel was a few years older than Tyanno, and thus had generally more experience. But, She wasn't a very proactive leader, preferring to take direction than take command. She was very wise despite still being relatively young, and her input was among the highest regarded by Alezand and Tyanno
Tyanno bowed slightly to the other master forces user. "What can I do you, Master Maginel?" He asked humbly. Elena sighed her amused annoyance at his chivalry. "I have just received word that more attacks have happened, but out of system. Reports are muddled, but one thing is for certain. No one can identify the ships attacking them. reports all claim that they literally came out of nowhere and disappear just as fast, and that they are extremely powerful. Groups down planetside who have also received word of these attacks have blamed adjacent parties and more fighting has broken out. Tyanno, I don't know how we are going to handle this. I'm very scared."
Tyanno nodded his agreement. "I know Elena, I am too, but Alezand is working right now to figure out our course of action as to finding out the root of the problem. I have been told that he is holding a meeting in a few hours to discuss with all leaders about the situation. I want you there, Elena. You are a integral leader of the fighter groups here. You would be a benefit in the decision on space combat action action." the Admiral Jedi remarked. " I will inform you of when the briefing is and I will see you there. In the mean time, thank you for the information. May the Force grant it be use to us rather than hindrance.
Elena nodded and turned to leave. She hated sitting here waiting while the rest of the galaxy tore itself apart. She would feel better when the council gave her a target for her and her squadron to take out. Someone had to pay. Elena was by no means prone to violence,in fact she was rather peaceful, even for a Jedi, but she knew when justice had to be served. She took the nearest turbo lift down several floors and the main hanger bay. She passed many people whom she knew and greeted her, but she was so lost in thought, she didn't even notice.
At last she entered the expansive hanger that housed hundreds of Alliance fighters. A-wing interceptors, sleek and arrowhead shaped lined the wall nearest to her.
Past them sat the heavy assault B-wings, bristling with power and weaponry. Across the way stood in stark defiance of the times two whole squadrons of T-65d X- wings and a squadron of more modern stealth X's. But she passed all these relics. She passed the newest fighter to be developed, the Freitek J-38i Intrepid superiority fighter. It was a design from the old X-wing and E-wing line, but created from Alezand's imagination. They were as heavily armed as an X-wing, but with speed greater than that of the A-wings or E-wings. Its maneuverability was unmatched. It was an all around beautiful fighter, and Elena wanted to take one out some time, but this was not her fighter. There stood her baby, at the head of a squadron at the very back of the hanger. The Freitek E-wing was a faster sister ship to the successful X-wing. Three laser cannons and two warhead launchers made it tough, but its higher speed capabilities were what set it apart. They weren't quite interceptor craft, but they made brilliant strike and escort fighters.
Elena walked over to her own fighter, adorned in royal purple crossed blades denoting her squadron assignment. She popped the canopy and climbed into the cramped but familiar space. And there she sat, pouring over her thoughts...
Lyborias Sagott was a rather upbeat personality. Even when the other Jedi leaders were brought down in tough situations, he managed to bring a calm and optimistic view in the matter. But now, even his spirit was dampened by the current events. The situation at hand was horrific and saddening. He could feel the despair, confusion and anger in the Force. It grew stronger every moment, and so did the sense of the Dark side.
He nodded as various generals, commanders, pilots, soldiers and jedi filed into the holo projector room. He stood up straight when a particular red haired female with green, piercing eyes and a prideful gait stepped into the doorway. There was probably the greatest Jedi of her time, standing there for a moment, noting the number of personel present for the meeting before ackowledging Lyborias. At least the greatest warrior of their Order. Linz Aoda smiled when she noticed the young man hailing from the barren and harsh world of Tatooine.
Master Linz Aoda greatly admired Jedi Knight Lyborias Sagott. His comittment to higher lightsaber skills and the Living force. Lyborias had a way with animals, his connection to them through the Force was unlike any other she had come to know. He was a bigger man than the rest of the rest of the group that Alezand liked to consider his little pack. And he was a very gentle spirit, having greater control over his emotions than any other Jedi. Ironically, Linz was probably the most admired Jedi of the time. The Council had noted the gift of Alezand and his group of equally gifted friends. They were never seperated, all having fought for each other at one time or another. It seemed to them that talent just gravitated towards Alezand. Linz was no exception to the rule. Alezand's second in command and easily his equal, the beautiful young woman of Nubian descent was a incredible swordsman and fighter pilot. She was the first to beat Alezand in a duel and is considered for a new rank in the Order, one never given before. The highest Mastery of Swordmanship given ever is Swordmaster fifth class. The council has agreed to create a Sixth class just for her.
She too was a diciple of the Living Force, and was a rather cheerful soul, but in a different way. She was adamant about justice and destroying evil. She was as much as a soldier as a Jedi could be. She was an unstoppable A-wing pilot and was often thought of as Alezand's weapon, or the sword of the Jedi, for her taste for the most dangerous and difficult missions. And she was incredibly gorgeous, long medium red hair down past her shoulders, a decent figure, bright green eyes and delighful face softened by light freckles and a mischievous smile that never left. She was that quinticential hero even among heros.
"Afternoon Master Aoda, how is your day going?" Lyborias stepped away from the desk he was leaning on a few moments earlier. "Interesting enough my friend. But I hope it gets better with some news on the troubles on Ord." She answered honestly. She had not heard anything from Alezand or Ash today, on acount of her being on a research mission she was undertaking earlier today. "Have you any news of anything yet? Alezand say anything?" She asked. "Negative, I haven't seen him all day, though I knew he was here today." Lyborias answered, and was going to add to his statement, but he held his words.
Right on cue the room, which was loud with the sound of a few dozen people chattering about the issue, went silent as the dark robed Jozlyn strode swiftly into the room, with Ash and the young Hermione on his heels. "Thank you all for being here, for I may very well have something for you today. I hope in the Force that I can give you some answers and a direction for the Jedi and the Alliance to take." He started, his voice commanding all attention, not that he needed it. Reputation alone was powerful.
Linz and Lyborias took seats in the front row of the small auditorium, as the rest of the present staff did the same in the rest of the available chairs. In the center of the room stood a large and powerful holo-projector, which visuals to every presentation and briefing could be loaded into and displayed for the entire audience to view. Linz glanced around for a moment. Tyanno was obviously not present, as he was overseeing the blockade, but she noted Marcans standing in a corner off to the right, and Ash taking a seat a dozen or so down the same row that Linz was occupying. There was a young woman sitting next to her, looking rater nervous at least. Her clothing denoted her as a padawan, but it appeared that she had no master yet. This was not uncommon nowadays. There just were not enough masters to train every new apprentice that entered the Order at all times.
Jimb Lewan, one of their technical specialists, was sitting a couple rows behind her, not far from Becca Cearsea. Becca was a skilled knight with a philosophical view to issues. But she was a warrior to heart as well. Then there was Ena Biona, a knight level healer on the verge of mastery. She was the team's medical specialist, next to Alezand. She was sitting in the fifth row down to the left. There were a few more Jedi, a chiss, a rodian, a wookie and a bothan, but they were tied up in other matters for the moment.
Linz returned her attention to Alezand as he loaded some data into the projector. "As you all know, there are unexplained violence happening on the planet of Ord Mantel. So far, preliminary investigations have turned up no cause or trace as to who has been behind these horrible developments. Autopsies so far reveal nothing. Neurological scans point to something behind the scenes, but so far we still can't detect what it is. One thing is for sure though, the Dark side surrounds those affected with the madness. Whether someone is controlling them some how or otherwise, we need to find out. I purpose a elaborate insertion of multiple teams in the system to start our own investigations. We may not be able to trust on the authorities involved at the moment, for they may be in on it." Alezand said with heaviness to his voice. "I have a young Jedi here who has intricate knowledge of the planet, it's major cities and populace and has seen t he attacks first hand. The other problem is that the attacks have unleashed the festering turmoil that lies inherent in the fear of common people. There is infighting and the brink of a civil war is upon us. There are multiple sides to this problem, and we must piece the truth together and sew this wound shut, before infection spreads to other worlds." He gestured to Hermione and pointed a remote to the Holo projector as more images cycled before the crowd.
Hermione walked slowly over to the center of the room. Her hands nearly shook with nerves. He had valuable information, but she was just a padawan who had not been picked yet by a master. She was not worthy to speak in front of all these leaders, most she knew only by legend. It was like being in front of the Council itself. She looked up at Alezand, who was smiling broadly at her. There was something there, that was strange to her. He struck her as a one who had no problem having a laugh at a friends discomfort. But he was the boss here. And if he thought she could give this brief, then so be it.
She slipped a small data pad into the receptacle before turned back to the gathered group. "I am a native of the planet, and have been sent there to observe to situation over the past few months, given my familiarity of the place and what is the norm there. These attacks have no provocation. They start from nowhere and the violence doesn't stop until the attacker is eliminated. They become ruthless and relentless, horrifically barbaric to the point where they just maul unaffected people. It is effecting anyone, women, children and men, all species present. They become animals of the darkside, and a Jedi can sense the darkside encompassing the afflicted persons." She began. She pointed to the holo, which was showing clips of harrowing violence that could turn even the stoutest stomach. "At first, there was no trend, no clue as to what was causing this rabid change consuming people to attack and even eat other citizens. But one lab has said that they may have found a clue. Neurologically, these people are normal, no know virus, bacterium or poison is causing these outbreaks, nor any frequency or signal can be traced. But they have seemed to uncover a new virus, one that was undetectable by normal means. One they say is more dangerous than any other know ailment. They have requested that a Jedi team be sent to meet with them, for they fear someone has engineered this mind plague. They fear the worst and they don't won't word getting out of what they have found." the projector behind her now showed biological schematics of subjects bodies.
