Lessien looked out towards the open lake, covered lightly in the winter early morning mist. The rustle of evergreen leaves as the wind whipped through the branches. Beneath the twinkling stars the midnight cloak lifted its corners in answer to the trees; wiping westward in the wind. Neatly placed curls now became unruly in the twisted breeze. Lessien’s green eye’s covered in a reminiscing haze, as she stared endlessly at the vapor.

“Papa look, look at the birdie,” the small child’s voice echo through the air. A blue crested wren sat silently on the window sill. Her dusty blonde curls bobbed as she ran to the older man’s side. “Oh, yes Lessi he is beautiful isn’t he,” reaching down with his big hands he took the child into the air spinning her around. Light hearted giggles flooded the room. Slowly ever so slowly the spinning stop and the young girl infolded in strong arms. “What do you think Lessi? Is he here to bring a blessing to your new baby brother? Well little princess?” A smile washed over the calm features as beyond the hallway a cry ripped through the whole hall.

Suddenly as if just an item her feet hit the ground the warm strong hands left her alone, the cry changed to screams as fire burned around her. Tears ran widely down the young woman’s face as she looked on in terror to see her father and brothers killed before her. Blood ran like rain over the once white stone path. Hidden alone; beneath the hawthorn bushes, within the once flourishing court yard. Visions of horror ripped through her mind. Mother’s, daughter’s being raped; children being slain. Men in black! Culprit’s of the slaughter at Tyranth.
Run quick spoke the voice of the wind. Flee while they can not see. Making her way from her hiding place they strong legs took flight to the Osprey keep just beyond the stables, releasing al the birds she found her companion. Quick whispered the breeze, take the pack horse and your weapons then flee with your life. Daughter of the wood there is nothing you can do, turn from this scene and take flight.

Pulling herself back from her memories, salt tears fell from the sorrowful, helpless green eyes. The stormy grew angry as stars and satellites vanished behind black clouds. Moving silently across the dew laid ground; Lessien took shelter in the hollow of an old tree by the lake side. Looking out to the water as the rain made the ripples on the calm surface.“Such are the lives of men,” she spoke softy, “Such like man’s life are those ripples all entwined by different means; All single but bound collectively; All growing from small to large!” She sat her arms rapped around her legs her chin resting on her knees. Her endless glaze consumed by the meaning of life. Every thought asking why! Why me?

Napeir apeared out of the water" crap, rain just what i needed" he said walking toward a large tree.Napeir pulled out a dimond the size of his hand. In its reflection, napeir saw a girl in a trees hollow. Napeir turned and walked over to the hollow" are you o.k." he asked.

A twinkle in the storm brought Lessien back to the present. Sitting up straight backed and as tall as a girl of 5”2 can manage. Wiping furiously at the tear stained face; a voice echoed through the hollow. Looking around, all she could see was blackness. The silenced stretched out, until her small voice answered back. “I’m okay I think, but I’m lost.” Looking around she spotted a faint movement from the shore line.

“I…I…” looking out at the darkness Lessien lay her head back on her knees. Wondering to her self on how best to explain where she is going. Sighing deeply she breathed in. “I came here to study magic but all I have been able to find is a crowed city. I don’t know where I went wrong. Am I too weighted down by the burden I carry?” Lessien voice made a simple question out of her deepest scares. Raising her green Fay eyes she looked out onto the lake and the turmoil the storm was creating. “I feel like that lake tossed and thrown about in a wild storm.” A look of shock suddenly covered her features. “I’m sorry I should not speak so readily.” Horror struck her hard she had no idea whom she was speaking with and yet she spoke so openly.

My name is napeir, i can show you to the city of magic(thats what i call it), and its raining" napeir said sadly" you should be in a shelter or something".
Napeir picked up a few twigs and pulled a cowhide out of his pack, after a minute of twidiling with it, he managed to get it to stand with out leaks. Then he pulled out a another cowhide and laided it down soft side up" here sit under this" napeir said offering a hand.

Lessien watched Napeir in amazement as he constructed a simple but dry shelter out of stick and cow hide, smiling a little at the shadow figure he was. She looked nervously at the hand offered to her in the darkness. Guardedly she placed her small cold hand in his. As the rain pelted down around her she left her refuge of the hollow and stood in the down pour looking at the boy who held her hand. Never had such kindness been shown to her; that she knew of. The black hair that crowned his head beneath the emerald eyes glistened under the black eye lashes. Lessien could understand why he was being so gentle so kind to someone he knew nothing about.

napeir helped her up and pulled her over and into the shelter,, her hands were cold and she needed heat" sit here for a sec, o.k." napeir said helping her down. Napeir then reached into his pack and pulled out a non-flameable tarp and some wood and a container with sand in it.napeir then laid down the tarp and poured sand around the tarp, he then set the wood up and lit it with some fire magic."by the way, whats your name"he asked kindly.

Lessien was lead calmly into the shelter. She obeyed what Napeir told her and sat. She looked on amazed that someone could fit so much equipment in a pack. Caught in her own daze she watched as a fire was made. The wind seemed to toil and twist but somehow missed the haven of the cow hide. The boy worked before her his voice echoed in her mind. It took a while for her to answer the brains function was a little slower than normal. “My name is Lessien,” she whispered quietly the feelings from the nights dealings fresh in her mind.

" so lession, not to be rude or anything. but why are you way out here anyway, and during the rain. why didn't you go back to town" napeir said thinking of the past." you don't have to answer, if i'm being rude by asking" he said turning his gaze to the lake.

“I…” Lessien closed her mouth; she had to think of a good reason. This boy with his kind eyes, she doubt about telling him everything. “I was out here thinking; I thought I’d make it back to the city before the rain started.” She had done it for first time; lied through her teeth. Guilt swept through her at the moment and laid another weigh on her shoulders. There was nothing else to do she had to trust before she could tell.

" well, the rain is as unpredictable as the day you day" napeir said" you never know when its going to strike".
Napeir turned his gaze toward Lessien, she was such a pretty women, but probly to old for him to even get conserned,then he quickly turned his gaze upward.The rain was stopping, so napeir got up and removed the hide that was on top. A rainbow streaked across the sky. Then he sat back down and looked back toward the lake. " would you like an esscort back to town" napeir asked" or would you like to stay here for the view".

Hours and hours had passed by as the rain fell; soon morning light was hitting the horizon as the storm passed on. Spring had been gracious to lake surrounding it with foliage of every shade of green. Rain drops dripped silently off the trees. Light sprang life into the valley. The rainbow crossed the morning sky. Napeir left her side to collect his things together. Raising she search the branches for the Osprey. A bird cry came from the sky as Lara came to land before her and field mouse in her mouth. Lessien glazed over at the boy as he offered to escort her back to the city. Smiling she looked out over the lake. “No I think I’ll be fine,” her voice stronger but delicate, “thank you thought for everything.” She bowed her head politely to him.

napeir reached his hand out" here have this" he said. In his hand was a large dimond, about the size of his fist.

Lessien stared wide eyed at the jewel. “I couldn’t Napeir, it’s yours! You should keep it.” The diamond sparkled as the sunlight passed through it creating small rainbows on the ground.
