Nightly Wonderings

" I think im the only one who knows about it" napeir said turning to a hole in the wall.
He reached his hand in and pulled out a oval sized ruby.
" i call it the cave of wonders, only because it streaches as far back as the mountains" he finished, pointing down what looked like a large corridor.
" the jewels coat the walls the entire way, but even in the most wondrous of places, theres always a bad side to them"

[Alenya Everglade]

Quickly, Alenya removed her hand from the diamond. "Bad side?" she questioned, her voice warbling involuntarily. SHe cleared her throat to steady it and continued. "What kind of bad side? Is it down that mysterious tunnel you made appear? Does it lead back to the mountains? Should I questioning you nervously and let you answer?"

napeir stuck his hand back into the hole that he had removed the ruby from and had the inside of it frezze, at that moment a large portion of the wall vanished to reveal a large dragon fossil.
" it died guarding this cave so many years ago, this cave has many secrets that i have yet to uncover. It is safe now though, its bad side was in the past and it will stay that way" napeir turned and walked closer to alenya and set the ruby in her hand.
" a gift from me" napeir said kindly

[Alenya Everglade]

"Okay, well I'm stop spazzing about potential dangers that don't exist," Alenya smiled, closing her fist around the ruby Napier handed her. "Thank you. That is so sad about the dragon though. I might find these secrets amusing. What have you found out so far?" she asked eagerly, her hunger for knowledge showing full force.

"i haven't figured out much, except that the cave of the damed has a connection with it, i witnessed first hand what had happened. I walked up and into the cave, it was just the usual dark damp cave, but i found a dimond that came from here there in those caves"
Napeir reached into his pocket and pulled out another small dimond, it had a unreadable writing on it.
" i found this there, i've found out from the library in the mage city( srry can't ever remember that name) that it is the writing of the dragons, neat huh" napeir looked at alenya then at the crystal.
" some times things confuse the humen mind, many things that we do not understand we mark as imaginary. " i want to make many things a reality, but i never have the guts. I plane to change that" he said looking at the ground.
" then i guess i have to start now, close your eyes, this time the gift for you will be even better"

[Alenya Everglade]

Alenya nodded, mulling this all over. Part of her begged to differ with him; she believed that sometimes things that are unknown should stay that way for the good of all. But part of her wanted to go along with what he was saying.
After all, the pursuit of knowledge was one thing the human race does hold dear, she reasoned with herself
She bit the inside of her lip; closing her eyes in a strange part of a virtually unknown cavern would make her uncomfortably vulnerable, a feeling she detested. Still, she felt like she had to try.
She closed her eyes and waited.

napeir seached into his pocket and pulled out a dimond, it was the one with writing on it.
" i'm trusting you" he said setting the dimond in her hands.
Then he hesitated, what he had planed was biting at him, he didn't think he wanted to because of what her reaction might be.
" like i said, i have to make things a reality" he wispered to himself.
He then reached out and kissed alenya.
"( what have i done)" he thought starting to turn to sneak off before alenya realized what had happened. "( sorry about running off)" he said to her in his head.

[Alenya Everglade]

Alenya's eyes fired open.
She had been kissed.
Her hand flew to her mouth in surprise and shock. Her mind couldn't wrap itself around what all had happened. It was still buzzing over this cavern and now...?
She no longer felt Napier's presence beside her. She looked around and saw he was gone. Now she began to worry. She knew virtually nothing about this place except that it somehow connected the lake with the cave.
"The diamond," she whispered to herself. She became aware of the weight in her other hand. She looked down at the second stone Napier had handed her. She fancied she could feel the power pulsate from it to her hand and through her body.
It was too much. Too much for her to handle right now. She slipped the diamond and the ruby into her pocket. Right now, she thought, I have to find a way out of here. I need to find somewhere to clear my head and sort all this out.
She quietly wandered the perimeter of the cavern, contemplating the safest egress.

napeir watched her from the shadows.(" this place is a maze of unforgiveness, it is never easy") he sadi to himself.
" it would be best to help her out" he said to himself again.
he then tried to summon fire, it was weak but he did it. He then tossed in down in front of Alenya and controled it up in to the air in front of her.

[Alenya Everglade]

The sudden influx in light caught her attention from her thoughts. A tower of fire stood in front of her, their flickering dance nearly touching the cave ceiling. Shadows mingled with sparkling diamond, sending flecks of light every which way. Her eyes danced in amazement as she watched the brilliant light show, her flee momentarily forgotten.
In the everchanging light, she noticed a silhouette lurking amongst the cave walls. It must be Napier. He made the fire, she thought absently. But part of her kept her from calling out to him. She still needed to be alone for a bit. Her eyes returned to the fire, plotting her next move.

Napeir moved the fire along the stoney hall, it dancing as it moved along. it then stoped where many paths jutted out from the one.
He then slipped down from his spot and moved behind her, still covered by the shadows, so he could keep control of the flame.
he wanted to say aloud "i'm sorry for doing something like that out of the blue" but he thought it best to leave her be.

[Alenya Everglade]

Alenya felt her hair bristle and stand on end. Something, or someone, was behind her. Her startled mind automatically jumped to the dragon Napier had spoken of. He said it had died, but he also said he didn't know all the secrets of the cave. Maybe the dragon had a mate...
She shivered despite the heat radiating from the fire. She couldn't stay here any longer. She dove quickly into the lake, but treaded water, debating whether she should leave. After all, she might never find this place again...

Napeir watched her dive into the lake, he stared after her, wondering.
" why did she leave, well now that i tink about it, i guess it was kinda rude of me to have just done that and leave her"
Napeir stared at the water, pain showing in the depths.
" i can't give up like this" napeir said running toward the water.
He stood at the edge of the pool, staring down tring to find Alenya.
" Alenya, Alenya where did you go" he yelled.
