Alezand looked around. The lake shimmered in the bright sunlight. The wind rustled gently in the trees, and the sky was of the clearest blue he had seen it in a long time it seemed. He stood waiting. Waiting for Adrienne. He had looked so forward to seeing her again, among others. He had yet to locate Rith, though he had found signs that he had been back in Avaren. Tyanno was his only companion for now. But he had found Adrienne, and that made today extra special. He was one step closer to putting things back together as they were before the battle. His mind flashed back to the dark days behind him. He involuntarily shuddered at the memory of the battle. The sounds still haunted his memory as much as the visions. But today was a happy day. he could put those harsh times behind him for now. It was some time till he must return to the fight. The world was changing rapidly before his eyes. Avaren was not the place it once was before he had leapt to its defense. Yes there were improvements, but there were some unexspected downfalls as well. The new rulers seemed questionable in their judgment lately. And the segregation of the peoples atounded him, as much as it angered him.
He sat down on a tuffet and waited patiently for the sweet girl he met so many months ago at the first banquet. Hopefully she could make it. He would not put it past that Muryllis character to show his displeasure in her associations with the "warrior". His heart seemed to be in the right place, and Alezand hoped that somedat, they may become allies. But he could not help to notice that the man seemed exordinarily hubris. he seemed to feel the need to let people know that he was proud and strong, and to cause them unnessisary discomfort to do so. Not exactly Alezands way of teaching, but to each his own. So he sat waiting, quietly, taking in the beautiful nature around him...

Adrienne walked to the lake she was going to meet Alezand , her warrior friend. It seemd like such a long time since she had seen him and she was looking forward to catching up. She had met him at the first banquet. She had missed him when he was gone, he was a nice, kind warrior the only friend she had. She spotted her friend waiting for her and she smiled. She approached quietly and when she was close she grabbed his shoulders and said, "Boo!"

"ahh, you are a sly one..." He said, laughing as he grabbed her hand and brought her in front of him. He had missed her terribly during his stint in the field. He took a good long look into her blue eyes and remembered why. After a moment, he snapped to, "It is so good to see you again, and it is such a lovely day, sooo.... " He turned and pulled back some well placed brush to uncover a meticulously laided out picnic. "I'd thought we could enjoy the day together, what do you say?" He smiled inwardly at the irony of using camoflage techniques for something more pleasant than hunting or fighting. He also gestured to a small boat nestled between some logs on the shore where it wasn't easily spotted from where they were standing. The picnic was set up in a specific spot on the edge of the treeline where the light streamed through the luscious canopy and dapled upon the soft grass, cascading the various hues of greens around them. He spent much time scouting and setting up this venture.

Adrienne laughed as Alezand pulled her in front of him. She grinned at him and gazed into his blue eyes. She had missed him so much and remebered why, as he looked at her she found herself slightly blushing. "Yes, it is good to see you as well." She gasped as she saw the pinic a grin slowly spread on her face. "Oh, Alezand of couse, i would love to spend the day with you." she said. She looked around at the view "It is so beatiful, yo picked the perfect spot." she said

"Ah, then let us sit and enjoy ourselves." he said with a broad smile and took her hand as they walked over to the blanket layed out across the the verdant grass. As he passed out the food, he wondered, "So what have you been up to while I've gone? I see you have taken to Aesir. are you living there or still in Avaren?" he asked genuenlly curious. It had seemed like years since before he and Tyanno left. So much had changed. He wondered how much she changed, or even, as he thought more of it, how much HE changed. Something told him that he wasn't quite the man he was three months ago. He wasn't sure what it was. But no matter. He'll find out in a matter of time all that he needed to know. For now, her company, the sound of her voice, the shine of her hair, the breeze in the trees, the smell of good food, and the blue of her eyes... it was all he cared about right at that sweet moment.

Adrienne nodded and smiled as Alezand led her to the pinic. She took the food and said, "Well i just recently found Aesir so I guess you can say i am in between i am not sure wheter i want to stay there or stay in Avaren, i mean Aesir is a beautifulcity and it is a great place for me to learn but I don't know. Anyways I haven't ben up to much i am now an acolyte and if i keep practicing i should be ready to advance to te next level in training. My dream is to become a summoner or shapeshifter but besides training not much, after you left i went on a quest for Aesir i heard about the city but never found it until recently. So how about you what have yo been up to besides protecting Avaren?"

Alezand listened intently. "Well, I was searching for you and Rith when we returned. You two are my only other dedicated allies other than Tyanno. Now that I found you, I can relax a little. Things have changed here so much. It sorta scares me. Rumor has it that mages are no long allowed in Avaren. What ever happened to Lord Pendergest. He was a great ruler, and he would surely not condone this segregation. And are soldiers not allowed in the halls of Aesir. Nobody has told us a thing since our return. Tyanno and I are in the dark. And if we are to defend this place further, we need to know the rules and who is still on our side. We have enough enemies outside Avaren's walls" He realized he was getting ahead of himself. He smile and quietly appologized. "i am very glad that you are safe. I plan to keep it that way. So are you still going to travel with us, or do you have your own venture now?" to tell the truth, his heart was begging her to say the first. He would need her help and her company would be a great comfort in the days ahead. But she was her own person and was free to be what ever she wished, and Alezand promoted that as well...

Adrienne nodded and said, "Yes i heard that too, that is why it is not safe for me to be in Avaren but at least i am safe for now." Adrienne thoughfully considered the options but that answer was clear in her heart. "I'm going to travel with you, of course." she said ith certanty

"Well, you are going have to dress as a common folk or even better, a soldier, as to hide your true identity. These days they are arresting those that even look like suspicion. What are your poweres anyway?" Alezand just realized that he didn't know what Adrienne could do so far. Tyanno's powers were good for combat, and he learned bow and swordcraft from Alezand, just to be safe. He also taught Tyanno how to hide in plain sight. maybe he should pass on some of this knowledge to her...

"Of course, I don't want to get caught and killed. Well i know some combat spells, some healing spells i am still learing as much as i can but i am going to need some training I mostly know elemntl spells, and some summoning spells." Adrienne said. It was true she didn't know alot but she would help in any way she could.

Alezand sipped his drink listening to Adrienne. That was a start. But it seemed that she couldn't change form or appearance, at least not yet. That was what he was looking for particularly. No matter, he was very adept at blending into plain sight, without magical means. As for her fighting skills, that would take another test to see where she was at, but right now, Alezand wanted to be sure she could pass anywhere unnoticed. And he voiced this to her, asking her opinion of this. After he finished a sandwich, he wondered also of the details of her elemental and summoning spells. "What have you summoned, other than books of course?" he asked with a smile....

Adrienne smiled and ate her sandwhich. She listened to his question and said, "Oh that is no problem I am a very quite person and can pass anywhere unnoticed. Well other than books i have been able to summon some small creaturs to my aid plus i have atempted shapeshifting but i am still to weak to transform. Mostly i have been able to summon birds, and such. Occasionally i can get a wolf or horse to come. I am still fairly weak but i am constantly improving."

"Thats a start..." But Alezand realized that this was not what he had in mind. They were supposed to be enjoying themselves. They could talk of the troubles at hand later. It was such a beautiful day, sitting next to a beautiful girl eating a great meal and he wanted to talk about problems. figures. Not the brightest at sociality, Alezand was. Remembering something he quickly smiled, "Show me a trick and I'll show you one of mine..." he said, teasing her with his usual troublemaking grin. He surely was a sucker for the sweet ones...

Adrienne scowled, this was not what she had been expecting so was glad when he changed the subject. Se wanted to enojy her time with Alezand. Seeing his grin she couldn't help but grinning mischeviously herself. "you want to see a trick eh?" she said A mischeivous glint in her eye matched her smile. She though about which tirck she should do "I warn you my friend be prepared to expect anything, even a book flying at you." she said with a chuckle

Alezand laughed, "I should, considering my luck with being around mages..." and he told her about the time he went to visit Rith and arrived just in time to see him mistakenly give himself a tail. Alezand still laughed even now as he thought of it. And he told her about the the time Tyanno blew up his tent went experimenting with combinations of boiling water and ice. "So show me already." he insisted. He just hoped he could pull off his little stunt...
