Sleeping on the job

[Shadow]

Shadow was sitting under a tree, head leaned back against said tree, sound asleep. he was supposed to be practicing magic, but the sun had intrigued him to sit down and rest his eyes a bit... he had promptly fallen asleep. He had balled his cape up behind his head as a pillow, deeming the tree uncomfortable. In his sleep, Shadow sighed, mumbling, the slid sideways. the resulting crash and the pain along with it woke him with a start. Immediately, he was standing up, magic at his fingertips. When he saw that it had only been him falling, he sighed and ruffled his hair. I need to do something...

Stretching for a bit, an idea hit him. Why don't i practice my aim with the energy disks? All words aside, i have horrible aim with them, unlike with my dagger... so... that means i should get to work... He sighed, stretched one last time, and prepared his magic. Suddenly, disks of pure energy began to circle his hands. Raising his left hand, he shot one of the disks of energy at a tree. It missed completely, only trimming a few branches off the opposite side of what he was aiming for. Sighing, He grabbed one of the large fallen branches and drove it into the ground so it stood on its own. using this as a target, He tried again, but the results were the same as last time. "Damn I suck..." As a few leaves fell to the ground, he let go of the magic and looked around. "someone is watching me..."

[Tsuzuki Sanada]

Shadow was right a man was watching from a nearby bush but not the one he cut he simply walked out and sighed. This was Tsuzuki he was a warrior but had taken side with the mages. "I was watching you practice your aim was off but not by much. The wind had a bit of an effect on your attack." His sword was in it sheath he didn't want to make a mage mad after all the new king was still trying to hunt them and he figured the mages needed all the help they could get.

"Allow me to introduce myself I am Tsuzuki Sanada. I maybe a warrior but the new king of the warrior city I just don't like."He said it was his way of saying he was on their side for the entire ordeal in the city. Fact was he just came from there and he wanted it to end as fast as it can. He needed allies and many of them to over throw that man. "Forgive me for watching you. I was only curious." He said and simply smiled he was showing he was a nice guy and meant nothing by him watching Shadow.

[Shadow]

Shadow jumped and turned to face the newcomer, the energy around his hands forming into a dagger-like shape. relaxing as he saw that the man meant no harm, the energy disappeared. "What? a new king? what happened to King Herculides?" Shadow sighed. "I had heard a rumor, but hoped it wasn't true... especially since now a monster mans the throne..." Shaking his head sadly, he looked back at the tree he had been practicing on. Forming Daggers of energy in his fists, he raised his hand, palm to the tree, and shot four daggers into the tree. All four hit their mark. turning back to the other man, he smiled. "you see, I have great aim with daggers, but different properties apply to disks." the energy around his hands disappeared as he walked over to the man and held out his hand. "My name's Shadow. Who are you?"

[Tsuzuki Sanada]

"The name is Tsuzuki Sanada."He said and took Shadows had for their handshake Shadow would make a great ally. He figured the skills of Shadow would be a great asset to his plan to over throw the new king. "I'll be honest I plan on dethroning the new king. I have made one ally so far but somethign tells me that we'll need skills like yours and also many more people."He said and released Shadow's hand this was gonna be a small gathering of people but it would be needed to pull off this that man desreved to be de throned by someone.

[Shadow]

Shadow looked around as Tsuzuki talked. "Do not say such things in the open, as God Might hear you..." He held a finger to his lips and darted into the underbrush. a small struggle insued, and Shadow re-emerged moments later with a scratch on his face and a child of the cloth, who was petrified. Setting the young one down, he smiled. "hello there, young one. what might you be doing, spying on grownups?" the young boy mumbled something about hunting and shadow laughed. "you have never hunted in your life. learn to lie better." the young man said something else, something about telling King Vidar on him, and shadow laughed again. "I wouldnt. did you see what I did with that tree? think of what I could do with you compared to that tree. And let me tell you this. I am no demon. I am just an ordinary warrior. right?" Shadow put an emphasis on the word 'right' as the energy began to form in his hand again. the young boy who was even more scared now, cringed, looking like he was about to cry. Shadow sighed. "look. A demon would have killed you as soon as they saw you. I knwo, as I have fought them." He winked knowingly at Tusuki. "Now, am I a demon?" Shadow smiled. the young boy smiled back, and shook his head. Shadow nodded "exactly. now run along. remember, the demons hide in the Caves of the Dammned." the young boy ran off, eager to get away from the two men, espicially the one who caught him. Shadow shook his head as he watched him go. "We are lucky that it was only a small one. Always use a guarded tounge while speaking of such things... but it is also partially my fault." Shadow smiled, leaned forward and whispered "I will join you." straightening, he nodded. "Now, what were you saying about my aim?"

[Tsuzuki Sanada]

"Well the disks were effected by the wind if you took that into consideration it might help."Tsuzuki said and with the event that happened he simply smiled and agreed but a guarded tongue was no fun. He then had a thought. "Maybe if we had a small army of about a dozen or maybe more we might have a chance against the guards and the gatekeeper is already an ally to me."He said and made sure to watch how much he spoke but he knew that the new kings dethroning was gonna be a while cause he'd have to drop his guard so to speak.

"Do you think that kid will still tell on us?"He asked and looked to where the child ran off to. He was shocked that the boy might have said he wouldn't tell but he knew the child was next to the king somehow. Still hazards were the thing now hazards couldn't help but be there.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "oh, i have faith in my convictions. don't worry about that. He might even begin to think differently now, especially since he is about to personally meet a demon..." Shadow nodded, as if to himself, and there was a flicker at his side. black patches the shape of paw prints appeared in a path leading away from Shadow and Tsuzuki, and soon disappeared. there was a piercing scream that came from down the road, the way the young boy had gone, but it was almost cut short. Shadow shook his head. "the shock from that wont wear off for a while, and by then, he wont remember us, just the day he met a real demon..." Shadow laughed.

"well, if you want followers or comrades, Id ask almost any Mage that knows me or any warrior that is still loyal to the Herculides Line. In fact, I could tell you one, someone that I happen to know very well." Shadow sighed. he didnt even know it Reno was still in the warrior city or not...

[Tsuzuki Sanada]

Tsuzuki heard the boy's scream he almost wanted to go see if the kid was alright but he knew Shadow was trustworthy."Yes that would be a great help we need comrades to fight against this mans reign it has caused enough damage to homes who knows how it will affect families and all the other things around here."He said and hen looked at Shadow he seemed to speak the truth but to Tsuzuki one thing mattered to him. The warriors and mages had to be at peace.

"Shadow be honest do you think if we had a few dozen would it be enough to defeat Vidar? As well as the royal guards if needs be?"He asked he wanted to get Shadows opinion on this he needed all he could get he didn't know the layout of the castle but he knew one thing this Vidar was a problem to the people. Tsuzuki was setting his sights high but only to do what was best for the people..that was all he wanted to do was help the people.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "A few dozen? the chances are slim, unless half of them were Archmages or Spell weavers. even then we'd have trouble. We would need a great many powerful people. Now that I think of it, there might be a few others that I know that will join us." Shadow laughed. "and then there's the Citys' Defenses, which are completely unknown to me. Whenever i was in that city, I was there as a thief. I know a lot of the back routes, but have never seen more of the castle than the banquet hall and the dungeons. I'm sure that there are ways, like how the Grand Magus rescued us, by opening a portal in the wall itself, but that is something Nigh impossible to do, even by his standards. We'd have to sneak in. but that isn't something a large force can really do..." Shadow sighed. "I'm not a tactical planner..."

[Tsuzuki Sanada]

Tsuzuki actually was a great planner and he was already doing the numbers in his mind."You maybe right on numbers but you never know sometimes it's the shrotage in numbers which gave many rules an overwelming vicotry. A small force is often underestimated and the larger force maybe have the numbers but small forces know that they'll when through determination."Tsuzuki seemed to be able to think not only in war but only in stragey does his true ideals show. The castles defences he saw small it was but one thing he knew Rotiart knew the layout of the defences well.

"I wonder though how can we actually predict what that slimeball king will do next?"He said and looked at the lake he was running out of plans and if the new king ran how would he defeat him. Too many questions so much time to plan.

[Shadow]

"We'd need an assassin, if you will. or at least a spy..." Shadow sighed. Planning a rebellion wouldn't be easy. "do you know of anyone who could be of use to us this very moment? I know of one, but he wont finish his training for a while..." Shadow laughed. "hmmm... well, I'm sure that people will join our cause, and I'm also sure that people will rat on us, get us imprisoned. If we ever Really need help, we should ask the Mage King, but that would only be a last resort, something to do in our Final Hour..." Shadow trailed off, looking up at the mountains. "and then there's the matter of where to hide the base..." Shadow shook his head and sat down on the ground. "Any Ideas for a home base?"

[Tsuzuki Sanada]

Tsuzuki seemed a tad troubled by the base comment he didn't even think about a home base he wanted it to be hidden so well no one would be able to find it."I am not quite sure as of yet. The mountians would offer some protection but it'd have to be in a ridge but we need a way to stop avalanches. A cave but it'll be cold We could make a fire. Maybe but then the chance of a cave-in...I'll have to be somewhere hidden so well no one could find it."Tsuzuki was working on every angle on this he really didn't want this to go bad when it would be best for everyone.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "well, if we had it magically protected, we could make it in-accessible, unless you know exactly what you are trying to find." looking around, he sat down and layed back, hands under his head. " But that wouldn't happen for a while. currently, we only have two members." pulling an apple from is pack, he offered it to Tsuzuki. "Want one?" Pulling another out, he took a bite out of it, chewing slowly and thoughtfully. "We might just be able to pull this off... just might... I have heard of a new city that is being built, might be the perfect headquarters for operations."

[Tsuzuki Sanada]

"A new city? Well we could set up our base there yeah that will work."Tsuzuki took the apple and nodded in thanks he took a bite and ate it slowly his mind running through numbers of comparison."Now all we need is the advangae of somekind. What do they have that we can take? Or it's something just unexpected."He had read so many books on battle and war during his trianing. He remembered that and army ambushed is usually the weaker minded but then he realized something the mountans if he could get them there it'd be an easy win."The mountians....of course...we could set a trap there and bury him in rock and ice. Along with his army..but it'll have to be quick cause we'd have to fake a retreat."
