Kane grinned softly as he turned his head to look at her. "Just a song." He smiled and turned around walking backwards. "Come on there darling. You're going to have to move a bit faster than that to get home." He nodded his head. "And it's a gypsy song..." He threw that in there at the end hoping that she wouldn't catch most of it.
He kept looking right and left hoping that he would see a house that faintly matched the description she had given him. "Mira...." Kane stopped and pointed to the house to the left. "Is that it?" He raised his brow lightly. It was a large white house with a lot of windows. Hopefully it would indeed be it.
[not a problem ^.^ and it wasn't that bad.]

“Giraffe song?” she murmured back in confusion, having barely caught his last words. “How can you sign giraffe songs?” she added again after a moment, starting to walk again. As they passed a lamppost she eyed it for a minute, wondering if it looked familiar or if it was just her mind playing tricks on her. As Kane commented on her moving faster she grumbled back, “I am.”
As soon as she managed to pick up her feet faster, though, Kane came to a halt and pointed to a house they were passing. She eyed the white house, with lots of windows, and noticed that it looked very familiar… but it wasn’t hers. Her neighbors? She couldn’t place exactly who lived there.
Turning around slowly to look in every direction, she spotted her house. It was the other white house on the street, although it was more… off white. “Nope.” she said, shaking her head violently, which caused her headache to worsen even more, she headed off down the street again, but this time she had a firm goal in mind.

Kane shook his head as he let out a rather exhausted sounding sigh. "Yes Giraffe song. Well you see..." His brows knitted as he tried to think up an amusing answer to this. "You have to live with the giraffes for atleast four years and then once they adopt you as one of their own they teach you the lullabies of their clan." He gave a nod figuring that was a good enough answer considering she hadn't heard what he said in the first place.
Kane was about to start complaining again whe she stopped beside him to look at the house. He gave a little sigh as she said neither yay or nay to it being her house. "RIght so I guess that means we keep searching." He shoved her shoes into her hands, not feeling like carrying them any more. If she wanted to break her neck in them that was her choice and not his.
Kane quirked his brow at her as she looked around at the other houses only to say 'nope' and shake her head. "What is it?" He frowned and followed after her, having to go quicker to catch up with her. "Where are you going? I was taking you home you know. What's so bad about that? I know your house is the other direction..." There was plain frustration in his voice and he did nothing to even try to mask it. Her house was the other direction and he knew it, why she was going in the opposite direction he wasn't quite so sure.

“Can I sing giraffe songs too?” she asked him after a long moment spent contemplating his answer. “It’ll be fun!” she added, giggling once again as she took her shoes back from Kane, not even realizing that she had practically shoved them at her. It seemed that, at the moment, he just wanted to get her home and then get as far away from her as possible. Oh well, it wasn’t like she even noticed. “I’m going home.” she snapped back, matching his annoyed tone perfectly. Her head just wouldn’t stop pounding and bothering her! She continued marching toward the house that loomed in the distance. Once they entered onto the property, it would be a good five minutes until they made it to the front door, at least. “Why are you so angry?” she asked him after a moment, her voice losing the irritation it had had before. Now her tone sounded sad, dejected, and slightly lost. Kane had been nice before, he had been her friend… now he was being mean….

Kane shook his head. "No silly...you have to live with them first remember? Gain their trust!" He nodded his head as she giggled. "Yeah it was rather fun...explains the reason I am how I am." He ran his hand back through his hair, it now being a little disaster itself with all the times he had ran his hands through it tonight. He really tried to break that habit but it was just so hard to stop doing something once you were used to it.
Kane grumbled something under his breath that would've been very rude to say out loud. He followed behind her in quite anger as they entered the property of her house. Finally he was going to get the chance to go home and sleep. Maybe that was all he was lacking at the moment. A nice warm bed and about a days worth of sleep after his journey here. That was probably why he was so damn annoyed at the moment.
A soft sigh came from Kane as though he was suddenly very disappointed with himself. "Look I'm sorry. It's been a rough day on me and I'm sure has been for you too. Just forget I ever uttered a word of anger toward you and get a good night's sleep alright." Kane looked up at the house as the came closer to it by the moment. "And uh...don't let your parents see you. They might not be too pleased with how you are at the moment." He touched her shoulder with his hand lightly to show that his apology was real.

Mira nodded, her mind finally made up. Turning to Kane, she put her most serious expression on her face. “I want to learn giraffe songs too… can you teach me?” she asked him, before quickly adding, “We can visit the giraffes too!”
Losing her train of thought as quickly as it had come she continued skipping toward the house, only stopping half way to the front door when Kane spoke again, this time apologizing for his earlier behavior. She nodded after considering his words and decided, helped a little by his comforting hand, that his apology was real. “You’re forgiven.” she told him, nodding to herself. “And I won’t get cau-“ she stopped abruptly as a line of light splayed out across the lawn, coming from an open door.
The front door of her house had opened, revealing the relieved, tired, and worried figure of her father, the prominent lord and knight Sir Lance Arthur. Besides looking immensely relieved, he also didn’t look happy at all.

Kane laughed lightly and nodded his head. "Mhm sure thing. Tomorrow...you come and find me alright? And I'll teach you all the giraffe songs you want." He grinned and shook his head, trying hard to keep the smile from his face. "Sure if it's what you really want." He nodded.
Kane let out a soft sigh of relief as she said he was forgiven. "Thank you." He nodded his head to her, knowing that if she remembered anything of him in the morning it probably wouldn't be a whole lot but he'd like to be started off on a good foot any way. Kane ran his hand back through his hair again, comtemplating pulling it up when the door opened, spilling light out onto the ground infront of the door. Kane dropped his hand quickly to stare at the man.
Kane cleared his throat before bowing his head to who was no doubt Mira's father. "Sir. I've made sure that your daughter is home safely. I hope that you will not punish her for things could've been far worse." He bowed his head again, whispering a good bye to Mira before looking back at her father. "Goodnight sir." Kane turned and bit his lip, trying to make a well held together but quick escape.

“Okay.” she answered, overly nodding her head and making her headache pound even more. “Where can I find you? Back at the tavern?” The thought gave her another idea. “Then I can,” hiccup, “have some more to drink!”
Turning back to her father she giggled loudly and walked toward him, waving goodbye to Kane like a child would. Her father just eyed the young man before giving him the smallest of nods, and then led Mira into the house quickly.
((Then she got in trouble and went to sleep and woke up and didn’t remember much… lol, I think this thread is over.))
