If you're interested in joining the mage or warrior skill tree, PM Cain, the administrator, about it, and he'll see to modifying your position. Don't feel pressured to make your decision yet, however. Just a warning: after you've made your decision, you cannot go back. Though, you can create another character who follows the alternate skill tree.
In fact, you can create as many different characters as you'd like. ^_^
