The maniacal grin Grask's face disappeared as a arrow flew by, grazing his already perforated ear. Growling, he turned his head to see the arrow's owner - just as his stone stopped in midair, obviously an unknown force of some sort. His reaction, tempered by years of combat and instincts, was instant; while he could have gone for the archer and killed her instantly, he instead decided to take out the man, seeing as he was more of a threat.
Crouching low, he stormed through the underbrush, launching himself five feet each lightning fast bound. Almost instantly, he was beside Eragon, and still sooner, his sword was making its way down to the boy's head. With a dull thwack! the flat of his blade made contact with Eragon's head, knocking him unconscious. Pushing him aside with his foot, Grask turned to face the remaining opponent - the young archer girl.
OOC: As it is implied, Eragon has been swept away for the use of magic on a Warrior character. He has been rendered inactive for the remainder of this thread.

((There's no reason for you to leave Avaren. Simply keep yourself from overpowering your character; there's tons more you can do.))

Elsan looked at Eragon and back at the werewolf like creature. She ran over to Eragon and said,"Eragon you ok."She looked back at the creature and aimed her bow and arrow at it.She shot and watched it.She then moved Eragon out of the area around her and pulled out her sword.

The arrow was shot too hastily, for the Gnoll was already approaching her, ducking and weaving behind the cover of the trees; it missed completely, and he let out a cackle that would make a hyena proud. The girl's decision to move her lover would prove fatal; her guard down, he lunged for her, only ten feet away and charging with the force and momentum of an armored war horse as she was about to pull her sword. Grask's own curved blade was vertical at his side, both to cut her down and to parry any attempt she made to impale him.

((Indeed, I am still alive.. at least, I seem to be so *burns physics textbook*. Eragon, as I have stated before, you have been swept for overpowering your character by using magic, a skill not available to warriors. It intrigues me that I can still see more recent posts of yours where you have used magic, even though this has been pointed out to you countless times, and you have even been swept for it. Another interesting detail I have noticed is your continual use of Saphira as though she were mature, powerful, and capable of fighting. It has also been stated that she grows as you progress through the levels, and, I believe, that she is not capable of carrying you in flight until you are level four. You are still a militia, the warrior level one; Saphira should not be capable of anything more than looking cool, and you should not be using magic - not just in threads with Outlanders, but in the game in general. For these reasons, and the existance of a rule stating that swept characters are inactive for the remainder of the thread, I will not allow you to wake up IC and resume combat. I hope this has been understood.))
The Gnoll, seeing that his next victim wasn't about to do anything (not even evade his charge), decided to play with his food before chomping it down and gnawing on the bones. Lowering his sword, Grask leapt at the last moment, careening through the air such that he would land shoulder-first into the girl's body.

((Saphira and me are needed for the um, Queen's plot. she's gonna declare war soon. so I'll have to keep Saphira for now. Saphira is like a threat to the warriors of avaren. I am like a magical warrior, so they are trying to catch me and my friends. Man your ways of killing ARE brutal! ))

Elsan saw the Gnoll coming leaping at her so she quickly moved backward and grabbed her bow and arrow off of the ground, with just enough time to shoot at him.She lifted her bow and shot an arrow at his head.

Grask landed with a heavy thump in the thick forest undergrowth. As he stood up, the simple act of bringing his head down to shake moss and twigs off was what saved him from an arrow; it passed directly overhead, parting a small path in his neck fur. With a growl, the Gnoll lifted his axe and swung at the girl's shoulders; no matter how much she dodged, he had infinitely more stamina than the pathetic human girl could ever hope to attain.

The girl's efforts were truly in vain now; he was easily catching up to her, for his Gnoll legs carried him faster than those of a human girl. By the time she had nocked the arrow, he was swinging his sword again; the arrowhead was cloven easily off, but the splintered wooden stub pierced clumsily into his unprotected left shoulder. Yelping in pain, he continued to outrun her. Finally, he brought his sword horizontally across at shoulder-level; this way, she wouldn't be able to leap out of the way, but would have to finally engage him.
