occ, thats ok, I can go with it And Alezand landed neatly on his feet, watching his friend drop like a dead bird from the tree above. Tyanno landed hard, and Alezand would've ended it there with a "safety kill", but hadn't compenstaed his position for the falling branch and ahd to dodge it as it came down second and a half after Tyanno. It bought Tyanno time enough to regain his stance and bring up a defense as Alezand stepped in and swung hard laterally. Their blades met with a loud clang and sparked as they glanced off. Alezand frowed into the motionand turned with it, bringing him to bear again. His body was tiring, but his motions were still fluid from year on the field...

Tyanno absorbed the blow, hard. He stepped back to keep his balance, but before he could even think of dodging, Alezand followed up with another, and another and yet another attack. He just flowed into Tyanno, no matter how his blade glanced off, he just followed it around and directed it into another attack. Tyanno was on the bare dregs of addrenaline now. It was the only thing fueling him now. His subconcious and instinct took over as his rational thought tried to catch up to the fight. It was a blurr, and yet he was still standing. but was to change, for he wasn't meant to be a warrior purely or a swordsman. His was a mage and attacked at range at best. And so it came, his blade was at last knocked away, his body wracked by the shock of overpowering himself in his attempt to win with magic only in the early part of the fight. He fell to his knees and looked up at the warrior in glazed eyes. He felt the blade of Alezand's brilliant longsword rest on his shoulder in the act of a safety kill. He was defeated and knew it. But for some reason, though he knew otherwise, he felt that he failed. "How can you do that?" He asked...

Alezand came to adrupt stop, leaving his weapon only and inch away from his throat. "What, fight with such expressionless passion. It was something I learned along my experience on the run. It is something that fuels the very heart of an Allaine, whether he be warrior or mage. One must find that simple and honest reason to fight without any gain but for another. You are not fighting to survive. You are fighting to survive so that an innocent can survive, because you are their only hope in the world. You must find this. But not in martial arts, but in you own powers contained in your soul. They are controled by your emotions more than anything else, thanyou must master your emotions. Anger can be used without malice, if it is righteous. Happiness and pride are you keenest weapons. And brotherhood and comraderie is the utmost importance next to your mission. You are not here to die for the people. You are here to live and fight for the people. I am very immpressed..." Alezand knelt down as he sheathed his sword. He could read Tyanno's shock and sense of failure as clear as he saw he there. "You are not a warrior. I don't want you to be. But I want you to be able to survive if I am not always there. You power is going to be a much greater weapon than any I can teach you to wield because it comes from the greatest and strongest part of the soldier, your soul. Me teaching you to fight like me doesn't do the same. But for me, drawing my weapon and putting another before my own wellbeing and constantly looking for that edge over my opponent so that I am sucsessful for my charge, that comes from the same place in me as your power comes from you. Heart is all it takes..." OCC the cac closed early bro, I'll continue this tomorrow, k?

Tyanno took this in, and its lesson dawned on him. He was trying to immpress the wrong person and his heart wasn't quite where it needed to be. he was fighting for the sake of being Alezands partner and to immpress him in that he could protect innocents. But he needed to find the pride in his powers and that he used them for no other purpose but the protect others. That is why his power drained from him in untimely speed, more than his lack of training in those arts. And he had stood his ground for quite awhile for someone with very little knowledge on how to defend with a blade. he would succeed, someday. He just needed to find that center that Alezand had found and train his powers more. He looked back up at his pal....

"Take to heart, my old friend. You shall find your way as I have, but it is not the same path exactly. You haven't been at this as long as I have. You are going to be a powerful mage and a beacon for free people. And you stood with your blade up for much longer than I expected for a beginner, so goes to show that your hearts nearly there." Alezand reched out his hand and pulled Tyanno to his feet. "Now lets focus more on you magic than weapon skills. I'm confident that you'll do fine in the clutch."...
