Adrienne was an apprentice mage, she had arrivd in the city of Aesir not long ago but she had already found the location of the library. She look around the books and began her search. She wanted to find a good magic book to study. She searched quietly until she spotted a good one. She took the book and then found a seat. she opened it with great care and proceeded to read it. the spells didn't look to complicated. She decided to try one and cocentrated. "Leviosa." she said out loud and to her surpise a book came flying at her she ducked just in time as it zoomed over her head. She hoped it didn't hit anyone.

"Hey!!" Alezand blocked the book as it wizzed towards his head. "Maybe I came at a bad time? Not often do people fling books at me." he said with mischievous smile. He was on an errand. he was searching for a book for Tyanno. Tyanno was so busy, with all the tasks that Alezand had set for him to work on, he hadn't time to visit this place. Alezand wanted to find something special, something to show his appreciation for tyanno's effort and to help him in his studies. But it seemed he found something a little better. "Should've known I'd find you here. I won't lie, I have been looking for you since we returned from the Line." He had missed Avaren, but most of all its people. Adrienne and him were just getting to know each other just when he found out about the coming war. He had to leave on short notice. But he hadn't forgotten about her, or his promise to her...

T'was another drowsy day, and the instructor spent most of it dozing quietly on a library chair, an open book in his lap. It was a rather plain book, the subject of which was a mash of different spells of different schools; a simple spellbook for the simpleminded. One would wonder why a man, aged, wise, and grumpy by his looks, would bother with such a meager compilation. In sooth, the man had no idea himself; perhaps he was looking for something with which to start off a lesson for a brand new student, or something with which to humor his older ones. Either way, he did not remember, nor did he care; at the moment, he was slumbering peacefully. Until...
Thump. A muffled noise wakened him; of course, there were other noises much louder here and there in the library, but this one carried a distasteful air to it. Blinking himself into wakefulness, the man stood, stretching lightly as he replaced the book to its shelf. Glancing around, he saw the cause of the disturbance: a young man stood before him, rambling something off to someone; that someone took the form of a girl on the other side of Muryllis, one of the many new magical students he had seen wandering the glimmering streets of Aesir. The man, however, did not look appealing; one mental sniff at his aura produced the pungent odor characteristic of a lack of magical ability, but it was not as overpowering as that of certain other individuals, vermin from Avaren.
"What, may I ask, are you doing in these sacred halls," he asked the man, his voice low enough for a library setting, but still piercing and direct. As much as he had reason to believe this boy wasn't typical warrior filth, he had no desire to take the rude sarcasm out of his voice; after all, he had just woken up. It humored him to think of the warrior's reaction; after all, the Master Spellweaver of the Aesir royalty looked nothing more than a grumpy old man with scraggly white hair; his respect, then, was gained through the vast amount of magical experience he possessed. This boy, however, had no idea of it. Amusing, he thought.

Oh, I do appologize, Sir. I know I must be breaking some rule, but I am searching of a book that would help my partner. You see, he wants to be an elementalist arcane archer and he hasn't time to research up here and I know no such knowledge exists in the halls of Avarens libraries (I should know, I have read almost all of them). I mean no disrespect, only to find something special and aid a fellow who has been at my side for many years. I have the highest respect for magic and knowledge. Myself and my said companion are sworn protectors of all this land, magical and mundane. It is in that sworn protection that I seek this knowledge. He desperately wants to be worthy of his oath and creed. Perhaps you could aid me, that way I can leave your graces quicker without further intrusion. You do carry yourself with the air and dignity of knowledge and wisdom. I shall obey, out of great respect, that which you ask. I mean not to offend, but to befriend..." Alezand turned and bowed to the obviously strong sorcerer. He could sense the displeasure of the man, strong in the air. Though Alezand was never told that said "non magical" folk could not enter these halls, he could understand such an unspoken rule. His motives were pure and he had no reason to fear anything here. He had many mages as close friends, including the one standing now behind him. Surely one could understand a mans loyalty to his comrades and to his country. Afterall, though what he sought after was a gift, it would also boost the ability of the Allaine and their allies to defend both Avaren and Aesir. Tyanno would eventually take charge of the fledgling Allaine forces that would take residence in Aesir for aid in it's defense.

Adrienne smiled at seeing her old friend Alezand "Sorry about that, no you didn't come at a bad time i shouldn't have said the spell out loud, oh well live and learn." she said to him. She smiled and said, "Oh really? well i am glad you found me, i have missed you greatly Alezand." At the entrance of the strong socerer Adrienne immediately new he was stronger than her. "Excuse me sir, no disrespect but my friend here has ever right to be here, his intentions are pure and although he may not be magical, I should think that wanting to protect the magical and mundane land is a good enough cause to allow him to stay." she said.

"Charming," the man said simply once he heard both of their enthusiastic excuses for the warrior's presence within Aesir's library. Honestly, he couldn't have cared less for their reasons, and he wasn't one to fall for flattery. But either way, "protecting is protecting; do what you want, boy, but I'd better not see you here again unless you have a fine reason for it. And, if it hastens your departure, I may as well help you find what you need... " Him? Lowering down to help a warrior? Bah, "because I honestly have nothing else on my mind at the moment. Now then, speak quickly; I'm not a man of patience." ((meep, short ))

Ah, well, Alezand could see that was no pleasing this man at this time. Flattery, pah. If he wanted to flatter him, he would've brought flowers. So much for manners and honesty. People needed to learn the simpler values more these days. however, being a man of honor and integrety, Alezand was not going to let this man get the better of him, nor keep him from getting the book and seeing Adrienne. "My friend, Tyanno Dynam, is aspiring to be and elemental arcane archer. he requires certain instruction for to infuse his elemental powers into his ammunition to futher boost his effect in combat and defense. however, due to the stirring trouble in this land, he doesn't have time to come here for instruction yet. So I desire a book in which to help him learn to infuse his arrows from effect. Can you help me?" Alezand bent over to pick up the tossed book lying on the ground and returned it to Adrienne, and whispered in her ear,"Meet me by the lake after this..." as he turned back to the older man. "So, what have you at this?"...

"Well," he began, noting the concern on the footman's face and listening to the details of his friend's situation, "I doubt any book will manage to help someone learn on their own how to enchant an object with elemental effects for any period of time, let alone a mage who devotes half their time to the melee arts. Enchanting in itself is a difficult and dangerous art to master without the guidance of a trainer; that, and I doubt giving up a book with such a powerful topic to a non-mage such as yourself would be wise of me, would it?"
As he said this, a massive volume entitled 'The Aspects of Enchanting' came gliding to his open hands, no doubt from a ten-foot-tall shelf somewhere a mile away. "Tell me, Warrior, why I should entrust a book to you that, assuming your cause is true, might end up harming or killing this supposed friend you speak of? Why should I allow such a fine tome to leave the halls of this library, let alone the limits of the city?"

Adrienne nodded to what Alezand said and took the book with a small smile. She waited to see Alezand's reason for why he should be allowed the book.

"You know of the darkness coming, don't you sir? You are nobodies fool, I can see that. You of all people here in this room should be able to tell if I am lying, if my intentions are cruel. A man could tell at amere glace into my eyes, and you have heard miss Adrienne here speak of my mission. She knows me and my cause and has even aided me at times. If not my word, take one of your owns word. You can see there is no malice in my soul. Only peace, and the wiil to keep it. My blade does not fall wickedly, but fells the wicked. I have learned healing arts and potions from men such as yourself. Not that it makes me a magi, but I shows my eagerness to learn and too teach. The pupil that which I speak of is the brightest I have ever seen. I have trained him in his Combat arts, but he has taught himself his own powers and already can control water and ice to a reliable effect. I have complete faith in him. I cannot wait to see how he peforms in your tutalege. Even if he does not succeed on his own, he palns in entering instruction here for a time anyway. But this way, He can at least have the knowledge even if he cant wield it yet to its extent. He will be a promising pupil, I assure you. Please help me, help him..." Alezand said this from his heart. He loved Tyanno as his brother. And that meant the greatest loyalty to him and to his destiny. Mages were his greatest friends and allies now. Tyanno, Adrienne, and Rith. They were his family, his clan and his team. He had to get them back together and ready for the trouble ahead.

The Weaver simply gazed at the boy before him, almost as if sizing up a cookie about to be devoured by a hungry bus driver on a Friday afternoon. "Quite," he said simply. "Alrighty then, I shall entrust this book to you. However, nota bene; I have a mental lock on you. If anything happens to this tome, or your impatience ends up killing or maiming a capable mage, you shall experience pain like none other before - if - I decide to let you slip away." His tone was as cold and certain as his gaze; the scariest part was that he could back every word. "You may tell that to your friend; if he decides to risk your life or sanity in order to dangerously attempt to gain the most basic of enchanting skills, he shall have you on his conscience."
With that, the heavy volume, tingling with magical energy that felt like electricity to the inept, was transfered from the old man's bony hands to those of Alezand. "I do not leave Aesir unless on a duty of interest to me; I shall not travel with you now, for I find your potential fear of your friend's slightest mistake almost delicious." Indeed, Muryllis was sadistic; however, he had a vast knowledge, and the sadistic practicality he exposed usually did its job. "You may leave now, warrior." His part completed, the Master Spellweaver himself strode out of the library, for he had work to do at the academy; his presence ever lingered in the warrior's mind.

occ, :-P you like being a pain in the a#@, Don't you, even to the good guys.
Alezand held the gaze that the sorcerer burned into him. As mentioned before, Alezand had dealt with many mages in his vast travels and battles. This one, he was though surprised, left him unperturbed. Alezand knew very well of the power that was bound in volumns such as this. He had used them himself as witness them too. And he knew the potential of a mage such as Tyanno. He knew the danger of the instruction that laid ahead. But the very life that they lead was a hundred times more dangerous than what one foul up from one mage could ever bring. Alezand had not survived this long by being anyone's fool. And he knew the type of person he was dealing with here. Whether he was going to call his bluff, it was not the situation. Besides, that would be letting this weaver win in their little battle of wills. It would give a sense of fear, a lack of confidence in both Tyanno and in himself. And it would show disrespect to the weaver to prove whether he was being honest. Keeping his composure and to his morales meant that Alezand won this little skirmish. So he simply smiled, bowed and turned on his heel, ignoring the little trick effects that the mage was playing across the book. He gave one last wink and a smile to Adrienne. But before he left completely, he turned around, "I do hope that you and I can work together in the future. I fear you and I have more in common than you think, my friend.." he spoke to the Master weaver. He let that hang in the air as he stepped out with a swirl of his cloak...
