Akai still remembered all the talk of what a good mage she would be, but she could only remember a few spells, and those she knew, she couldn't even cast. Heh, some mage she turned out to be. She was looking through books she remembered from childhood: Magic for beginners, Spells for the magically challenged. Yeah, maybe she had better read that last one again. She entertained herself with thoughts of all the books that lay upon the shelves. Boooks she had been expected to read, books she actually had read. She wasn't sure of what to do with herself in Aesir, unable to find a sufficient sparring partner. She didn't really want to find a sparring partner, though. Getting used to new people was always a hassle. She picked a book off of the shelf. It was a copy of Incantations and Runes: The Difference in Effect. She remembered reading this when she was eleven.
That reminded her of the first time she had ever tried martial arts. She was rather young, only twelve, when her mother had to go to the mages' counsel. Her father, not wanting to leave her alone, took her with him to training. She watched the men fight each other, sometimes winning, sometimes losing. She lost herself in watching the instructor, whenever he demonstrated anything. He looked so gracefull. If she could just be like that...

Enelya looked on carefully as the warrior sat in the library of Aesir. Standing behind the younger woman she gave notice to the weapon at her side. “Don’t you think it would be more appropriate to place your weapon way from you so you don’t give cause to danger” Enelya spoke lightly as if making a joke but seriousness lay just below the surface, “courtesy may see you put under suspicion, a warrior in mage’s world. It is a dangerous time for you to be here. Hatred could easily be placed on you; a subject of Avaren and Queen Rienna. Explanation might be called for had I not noticed your interest in magic.” Enelya turned smiled looking around the room She may have startled the girl but hope kindness and advice made up for it.

OOC: One carries a bo-staff at their side? I'm talking about the kind of staff used for martial arts. And it's Rianne. The queen's name is Rianne. I should know, I was arguing with her.
BIC: "Huh?" Akai asked this new women, wondering what she was talking about. It wasn't like she wasn't a warrior, but to assume simply because of that that she was associated with that ridiculous, insane queen? Akai knew full well that she would be the target of hatred of mages, weapon or not, and so carried her staff for protection. It wasn't like she was holding it in a threatening position, either. She had no idea what kind of person this was, giving her such poor advice, but she felt it best to respond. "Akai." She said, concisely, holding out her hand.
