Star Gazing

[Paine Edelias]

"i'm fine" she says to him looking at him. Paine took a deep breathe and looked at him she wanted to smile but she couldn't. Something was wrong she knew there was something wrong and she knew that just by looking at her Shadow knew something was wrong with her as well. She sat there trying to keep herself from thinking about her family she just wanted to have fun tonight and not think about all the bad things going on.

[Shadow]

He shook his head. "Are you sure? Because you look like you need some tea or something. something soothing." he pulled her to the shallow area. "Here, sit, the water is shallow enough." He shook his head. "you look terrible..."

[Paine Edelias]

She sat in the shallow area. She wanted to tell him something that keeps roaming her mind but didn't know how he would take it even tho they had just met and everything. " Just Bad Memories" she says to him " THey been haunting me forever" she says to him as well sitting there in the shallow water.

[Shadow]

he nooded."im familiar with tha feeling. A little too familiar... it often results in a rage for me." He sighed. "but these things are all in a day for people who have to live with them, and you try to get used to it and move on, Atleast on the outside. btu it will never go away, not untill you make peace with the thoughts."

[Paine Edelias]

"Thats mostly what i been trying to do was trying to make piece with my thoughts" she says to him sitting there in the shallow area of the water looking at him and smiling and then looking back at the sky up at the stars at they made her eyes sparkle abit. She enjoyed looking up at the stars but she did also at him but she didn't know why she had this feeling.

[Shadow]

He sighed. "Sometimes, Vengance is the only way." shadow looked down at her and smiled back. "amazing sky, Isnt it?"

[Paine Edelias]

"yes it is" she says to him looking down at him with a smile. Paine had wished that she could be happy. Paine jsut never knew how happy she could be if this feeling that she had wasn't around.

[Shadow]

Shadow closed his eyes.
Upon re-opening them,He looked around. "Im hunrgy." he stood up. "Ill be right back." he stood up and walked over to his cloak. rummaging around in it for a bit, he produed a line with a small hook on it and a net.. Returning to the shallows where Paine was, he held out the line. "hold this please, but be mindful of the hook, it iis quite sharp." Then he went a bit deeper in the water and looked around, satying very still. slowly, he raised his net and opened it. Then, with motion almost too fast for the human eye to track, he scooped up something from the water. "Excellent." Walking back to were paine was, he took the line back.. Grabbing the hook, he pulled one of the minnows he had caught in the net out and put the hook throught its eyes. "Sorry little fish, but you are going to help me catch a bigger one." he added a small lead weight to the line and threw it out as far as he could into the water. "Now, we wait."

[Paine Edelias]

She watched him rummage through his bags. She was wondering what he was doing after having to hold a line with a hook on it she was careful. Paine Watched him go into the water and catch something he was very quick at it she smiled as he did that. She had watched Shadow come back with alittle fish and watch him hood it onto the hook " Really, I am??" she says to him with a smile still holding it. Paine watched shadow through the hook with the small fish and the thing on it to make it weigh alittle more so it sank into the water. She sat there and watch she had looked down at her leg after remember the training with rotiart and remembering what scars she had so she had to be careful. She looked up and watched shadow.

[Shadow]

"no, I was talking to the fish. You can help by praying that I catch a big one." He jerked the line every now and then, just so it seemed attractive to the fish on the bottom of the lake. There was a sudden tension on the line, and shadow looped the line around his gloved hand and pulled up sharply.lowering his arm slowly, he smiled. "Come here, help with the line." he pulled the line in a bit and suddenly it began to jerk and pull like crazy "Allright! we got a fighter!" he began to pull the line in, slowly, but steadily. Looking over at paine, he laughed. "Grab a glove from my pocket and help pull in the line." The line began to jerk even more ferociously, and Shadow looked at it with renewed surprise.

Paine had watched had he had tugged on the line to make it look like it was still alive and just swimming around like it was caught on something. Paine got up from her spot and took a glove out of his back pocket and went to help him. " Realy feal like its not a little one" she syas to him looking at him with a smile helping him trying to tug on the wireso that they could bring the fish towards them.

[Shadow]

Nodding at her, He began to pull harder. Whatever was on the other end, was quite strong. "This will atleast give us a meal, if not money." He laughed. Suddenly, there was a great tension on the line that pulled shadow forward. "Woa! Look!" He pointed with his notgloved hand as the creature on the other end ov the line jumped. It was an enourmous catfish, at least eight feet in lenght. Shadow took advantage as it jumped, and yanked the line. the fish flew towards them. when it landed back in the water, Shadow renewed pulling the line, and soon enough, the fish was in the shallow water. Shadow walked down to it. "its magnificent... I almost dont want to kill it..." the fish was pearl white, shining in the pale light of the moon. Being tired, it didnt thrash, but kept very still, almost blending in with the sand on the bottom. Shadow brought the net full of minnows over and pulled on out by the tail. holding it, he placed it in the catfishes open mouth, which closed swiftly, almost trappig shadow's hand. "fiesty bugger." he grabbed three minnows and repeated what he did, and soon, the net was empty. "Im still debating. Should i kill it or not?"

[Paine Edelias]

Paine stood there looking at the catfish it looked white but it was good to eat. Paine Smiled " this is big" she says to him. She came down by him still wearing his glove. " I never ever seen something this big before" she says to him " I don't know if you should or not cause if you don't and it gets away were gonna have to look for something else to eat" she says to him with a smile.

[Shadow]

He laughed. "This is true, but such a magnificent creature should be allowed to live, we would never be able to eat all the meat before it spoiled, even if we sold it or gave it away." He raised his hand. "But im curious as to what is in its stomach. " He flipped the fish over, and grabbed his knife. flipping it so the blade was pointing away from the fish, he slammed the butt end of the knife into the fish. spluttering, it coughed up several items. one was a gold necklace with a strange pendant, another was a gold ring that bore a resemblance to the necklace, and the third was a magnificent hilt of a sword. "remarkable... Obviously, someone didnt want this stuff to be found..." fliping the fish back over, he removed the hook from its mouth, lifted the fish up and out of the water, and held it out for a moment. "paine, pet it for luck."

Paine was looking at him like this has never happened before. But as she watched all three items they were all Gorgeous. As SHe heard Shadow say Pet the fish for luck she did what he said. Paien pet the fish for luck and then looked at shadow while he held the fish still. " Looks like you did tho" she syas to him with a smile on her face. " There is alot of nice stuff that you can find around here" she sya sto him
