The air was chilled, the ground was wet, and day seemed gloomy all together, but that wasn't enough to take away the beauty of the lake, that Mazus had been watching for most of the day. This was the first time away from the Kingdom, that he could remember. Dark clouds layered the sky, as it began to rain, like it had been the whole day. Mazus watched as water ran off of the leaves of the trees that acted like a large umbrella for him. But, it rendered completely useless as the wind picked up, shooting the rain right at him. Mazus tried not to let this effect his time away, but he knew that he could of picked a better day than this.
The Lake seemed like the only place for Mazus to go, that was out of the Kingdom. The Mountains are cold, and are boring, until you get to the top. He heard stories of the view, but he never thought it would be worth the trouble. The Dark Forest seemed quiet, but then you hear of old tales, of creatures and he didn't want to risk the chance that he wouldn't return. He wouldn't mind dying by defending the Kingdom, but dying for visiting new places, wasn't that honorable. The Cave of the Damned also had eerie tales, and of course the darkness to make anyone get lost easily. Lastly, there was he Abandoned Citadel, which seemed interesting to Mazus, but he also had no reason for going there.
The rain slowed down, and eventually stopped. Mazus stood up, and took a few steps from under the tree. Puddles from the run-off of the leaves, nearly surrounded the tree. He stepped over the puddles, and made his way right by the lake. Mazus looked at his reflection, his pale face showed no emotion, which he was happy about, because he doesn't like it when others can see his emotions.
