Christine sat at the edge of the lake, watching the sun reflect on the glassy surface of the water. She liked to come here in the middle of the day when most of the world was up and about, scurrying to thier friends and classes. She had done the same when she had been up this morning bt but right now she felt no reason to hurry, . There was a certain calming effect to it all, the sounds, the cool fresh air, the stillness. She picked idlely at a blade of grass, letting her thoughts wander. It was a purging of sorts, a way to get it all thought out and discarded to make room for more.

Eragon coughed and sputtered. "What was that for?" He asked, bewildered. The coldness bit into his stitch, numbing it. "Good thing this water numbs my wound." He said darkly.
