"Very well, Lord Vidar. I shall bring him to justice, and the Lord God shall witness it," Tori spoke aloud. She then drew close to Vidar, and spoke in a whisper that only he should hear, "I do not trust the lady Laura. Something seems... off. Should I keep an eye on her?" Continuing past Vidar, as if to give the impression that she had merely chosen to walk close to him, she added in a normal voice, "And my other question was never answered. What should I fix for supper? Please don't force me to choose, or else we shall wait a long time to eat..." She walked to the door once more, and stopped to wait. "Thus, I repeat, any suggestions?"

"Thank you, Father." Insidia replied gently.
She responded to the king's hand pressing on her shoulder. She carefully lied back down, resting her still far weakened body as before. Insidia would have preferred to keep the king around to speak with, though she felt he were eager to leave. He could not be blamed, that she knew, her confession was a very foreword remark.
Insidia had closed her eyes, becoming somewhat unable to listen to the conversations the thee were having. Something had caught her attention, like a stake into her chest, her heart felt like it had stopped. This king named the man who she helped back to his home, and allowed her to stay. That man, the king ordered to be killed, it sounded. The ruler of this city had become more than an eccentric priest, she felt. Insidia thought of him as a heinous psychopath, a murderer without justice.
"Father...Why do you want these men killed, Sir?" Insidia whispered to the king, opening her eyes upon saying it.
Her eyes seemed to say their own concern, though how unfortunate it was that no one could see it. Blackened voids always tell nothing. But if he could see her eyes, would he care of her gaze? Sighing, Insidia closed her eyes, unable to bear the face of this city's king any longer.

"If you do not trust her, then simply keep an eye on her, make certain she does nothing that would offend our god and report everything she does back to me. Make no major decisions on your own." he muttered back to her, before raising his voice to a normal level to address her outward question. "I care not, inquire as to the desires of others, or better yet, ask the good doctor what would be best."
"Now back to you once more." he said, turning to Laura, "Do not make me tell you again. Go now; seek out the ones I have ordered you too. If David is beyond us now, we will hunt him down later."
"Hmmmm," he said, upon hearing Insidia's protests. He had not expected her to question him, not after the display of faith she had placed previously, yet there was no harm in such questions ultimately. "I do not want any man to be killed, at least for unjust reasons, yet these people defy god and the free will of the people of Avaren. Through their foul powers and dark pacts with evil forces they secretly seek to undermine all peace and seize power for themselves and their demonic masters. If the wound is infected, you must cut out the infection before it spreads."

Madness is a dulling thing isn't it? It may be the lack of ability to be just in society, or have no conscious at all, so many possibilities for the mind to suffer. What is a mad thought? Was the the one's she were feeling, the ones that her being alive was satisfying enough she would let two kind men die? One had already been beheaded for her life by her lies. Was that madness or was it simply what one most do to survive?
"What has he done, Father, My Lord?" She whispered in reply. "What evils? How could anyone do so terrible things..."
Perhaps madness is better defined in this scenario in which Insidia began to believe her own lies, live then as if she always had. A moment ago she realized this king was an unjust murderer, mad in his own way. But now, at this moment, the most horrifying moment, she cared about these "evil deeds" as if they were true. The truth was she met this man, David, she gave him help, he gave her shelter, there was no evil to him that she saw. Though she asked this king as if he were speaking something that the man David could really be capable of. Lack of blood and weakness could not be an excuse for this. Her mind had always been fragile, perhaps even she wondered this sort of madness would ever slip into her thoughts and rations.
Insidia had few thoughts, still, a lack of sanity was found in those that did exist. She thought of her time spent with the man named David, searching memories to find truth in the king's accusation. Her blackened eyes stared up at the king, she wondered if she had spoken too much to him. Her frail right hand rested on her upper chest, her fingers running over that wound.

Tori looked upon those around with slight annoyance. It seemed no one had any idea what they wanted for dinner. She looked at the doctor, as he stood there mumbling inaudibly. "This way," she commanded, pulling the doctor toward the kitchen. If Vidar told her to ask the doctor, she would make the doctor decide what was best. She grabbed him by the arm, practically dragging him out of the room, and left. She walked down the hall for a time, before turning a corner, and moving out of sight...

Vidar gave Insidia a stern look, expressing his displeasure at her constant questions quite plainly in that look alone. He did not like being questioned, used to as he was with people simply taking his word as law and leaving it at that, especially since he didn't have solid answers and knew this only too well; acting only as he thought right.
"Once again, you question my judgment." he said, in a tone clearly reprimanding her, "I am the voice of the lord, you must understand. My judgment is his will. though you have so very much to learn you must understand this one solid fact, else you cannot begin on your path to true, undiluted faith. Now, I tell you, rest. I depart now, to take counsel as to further actions I might take to protect my people. Take solace in the company Tori shall be providing you and begin your learning through her."

"Forgive me, Father, my lord." She replied, closing her eyes, turning her face from the king.
Displaying a sort of shame, she lifted her left hand over her eyes. Sighing, her hand moved to touch her collar bones, resting against her sliced flesh. Father would hopefully forgive her, or he may think she hath sinned. A sin may cost Insidia her life.
"Forgive me, I had not meant to question, but to know what this man was capable of, I may have seen him..." She added. "Thank you, Father, for all you've given. God's luck is always with you, I wish it to be strong."
