A small smile formed on her face while David offered kindness, surly any person with wealth would never give a woman a choice, most would take the offer with haste. "Strong men are mindless, and have no heart, they have no emotions but to kill and anger, they use all women." That was what her father used to put into her mind, threatening her with it. "A daughter of mine will never have a heart that aches from a man with a body full of muscle and a skull full of brain rotted by maggots"
"Your dishes will shine and have a reflection like water being casted by the sun." she kindly replied
Insidia shook her head at her father's words, he thought he knew everything. Hell, he would scold her for even this, she would receive five knuckles to her cheek and the back of his hand for it. "Selfish, narcissistic, pigs they all are!" She nearly laughed, recalling the statements.
"Oh!" she gasped as David fell to the ground. He immediately silenced her concern by speaking his wellness. "Bah...You stubborn man." and now, she did too, laugh
As he fell for a second time, her heart seemed to jolt, she had seen his eyes mutate, her laughter quickly ceased. "You are not good enough to walk alone with that stick." she told him firmly.
She reached out her hands, grabbing his arm, trying to lift him back to a stand. "Let me help you this time." she further said with her voice being strained by the strength she was using.

Reluctantly, David allowed Insidia to help him up. Though he was rather insulted that she had called his spear a stick. He shook his head as it wasn't even made of wood. He coughed a bit and placed more weight upon his spear instead of Insidia having to bare it. "It's a spear." he told her, "And it's made of metal so it's not a stick. If you where to have told someone else that it was a stick, I'm sure that you'd find out shortly how much damage a stick such as this could inflict."
He allowed Insidia to put his one arm over the back of her shoulders yet again as they continued down the path. He gave no other words as they walked onward towards the city. It's size only growing as they advanced. The noise of people walking back and forth and the voices of those that were yelling or other such things could be heard feintly. It would only be a matter of minutes before the bustling traffic that was at the gate would be exactly where they were at. He wanted to be at his house and be able to rest and recouperate.

Insidia laughed, rolling her eyes and huffing a sigh. "I know what that is." she told him in reply to the spear "No need for you to act all superior because your weapon doesn't help you as much as a lady does when your injured."
She too kept quiet as they walked, holding him with her best strength, focusing on the city. The sight of people was wonderful, the town began to take shape, a whole new world it looked like.
"Have you always lived there?" she asked David, continuing to stare at the marvel
The city appeared strong, well maintained, prosperous. Insidia could not help but think she may seem to be a mere peasant, a thin woman and the bottom of her dress coated in soil, her clothes and hair wet from the rain.

David didn't bother to reply to Insidia's remark. He had already figured that if he was to say something else that the woman would only say something back that would require David to think more about something to say. He didn't need to spend his energy thinking at the time. He needed to store it and concentrate on making it to his house where he could rest and recover from his condition completely. He didn't really know how to take in the scene of the city. It was a sign of relief among other things, but he wouldn't truly be relieved until he entered the doorway of his humble abode.
David's gaze snapped from infront of him to Insidia, who had asked him a question. He was about to say something that seemed rather obvious, but then remembered that she wasn't from Avaren and wouldn't know about his father...or would she. Either way he didn't feel the need to talk about it at this very moment. "No, I didn't always live here." he answered her question in the tone that it wasn't that important, but yet he didn't feel like talking about it at the very moment either.

Like an inferno coming from all of the nine hell's levels, her muscles felt the heating pain, her back and legs burning with abuse and tire. Of course if she took more walks instead of reading so much, she would have more ability to continue in a better status. Although it seemed like her body was screaming at her to discontinue, being as stubborn as Insidia was, she took no rest and made no indication of her pain. She began to feel a set of eyes on her, a deep pair with a gaze that would reflect the harshness of poison. Naturally if a human's so called 'third eye' felt the strange stare they would think it would be from the other homosapien beside them. Unlike them, Insidia was naturally more attuned to this, she knew with ease it was a person who stared. Her neck turned, her head shifting the same way, her eyes meeting those of a plump, adult sized owl in an upcoming tree to the right.
"I..see..." she answered David. She had heard him, though had not considered his tone or anything to reply with
Her eyes stayed gazing at the white feathered owl, waiting for it to open its beak and make a sound, it was as if it taunted her. The eerie bird however just stared back, watching she and David continue their walk, turning its head with them and her's as they walked closer.

David gazed at Insidia and then towards what she was looking at. An owl of some sorts and didn't seem all that particular to him. However, she seemed deeply interested in the bird of prey. He turned his gaze forward so that he could watch where they were walking. His mind running through why she would be so interested in an owl that was staring at her. There had been many times that a creature such as that was staring at him and watching as he traveled by, but did Insidia see something that he didn't. He wasn't any sort of magical being that he knew of and a chill ran up his spine at the thought of that. The people of Avaren are not too kind to warriors that abondan that branch and head towards the other.
"Does your father know magic?" David asked Insidia with a tired tone of voice. He had to hold back from yawning as he was starting to burn through the last bits of staminia that was coursing through his body. His limit was coming faster than what it was earlier. As he went on it seemed that he had last staminia. The gates and the city were so close. It was almost as if they were there right now. It would be ashame if something was to happen to both of them at this very moment or something was to occur.

"Magic?" She quickly questioned David, deviating her attention from the owl, turning her head to the man beside her. She attempted to maintain her calmness, hoping her voice showed no indication of her nerves
She had always been warned never to speak of her otherworldly abilities. If she had, he would tell her, she would be stoned, burned, shunned, tortured, until death. She learned that as a very young girl, she had feared it since the first mention, and still to this moment. She took in a deep breath, letting her chest fall back down slowly and her eyes turning ahead, looking into the nearby city. Insidia had left her home to travel, to experience, to learn. There must have been more to life than working for her father and reading books, keeping secrets, and seclusion. Perhaps, he weren't so mad, perhaps he was a wiser man than she could realize until now, faced with perilous situations.
"You believe in that?" was all she could say, ask, really. Her tone seemed calm, though after she asked, her teeth pushed against her lower lip.

"Unfortunately, I have to believe in it. Not that it is something that is holy or true, but I've seen it being performed before my very eyes." David stated replying to Insidia's question. It was rather true that in his past that he incountered several individuals that used magic. It was unbelievable that people could use such things. It was the only thing that he was vunerable against more than anything was the very mystical powers. He knew that these powers where once believed as powers that were given by God. However, he knew that eventually that those with powers would exploit them and use them to their advantage, especially those that were ambitious.
David continued to walk though he didn't feel like saying anything else. Slowly but surely feet were beginning to stop picking themselves up and drag across the ground. He found himself blinking more often now keeping himself from falling asleep or anything else. His two swords that he carried on at his waist were feeling heavier by the minute and his senses beginning to only feel pain. He stumbled and almost fell as he felt that he was fixing to fall into unconciousness.

A believer, how unique. Many were too brainwashed by their hypocritical religions to believe in anything but miracles and what the Christ had done. Or perhaps thats what he meant, Inisidia would find that a shame, of course, though, she attempted not to make that assumption.
"There are many kinds of magic." She began to say, holding him stronger
"Theres the kind where people do good things, bad, things that are neither, but where does the line draw, if you ask me, nowhere at all. I have seen how real magic is, I don't believe in it, I know it is a fact. It's said in my town that outsiders are unbelievers."
While David struggled, she simply had lent more effort and aid, holding him tightly, being sure of his ability to stand. Her eyes never traveled back to the owl, for a reason known to her, it was just not as important, it was more imperative she take care of David. She continued to speak, let his mind dwell on something other than his physical weaknesses, yet still never saying she or her family has practiced magic.
"I saw a man on a street, he fell to the ground as another put his hand on his forehead, the man on the ground was lifted off by the other without even touching him! It could have been an act, but I've seen many others. Others I was not meant to see as I would go gathering for dinner. He asked if I saw what he had done, I told him I had not. He asked if I thought magic was truth, in fright I said I never did. He shouted at me and tried to slash me with a strange knife, I've never been to those areas again. It is so very frightening how people will react once they have the mystic powers to do so in many ways. "

David wasn't necessarily hearing everything that Insidia was saying. Her words seemingly jumbled as he felt himself becoming heavier and wearier. He simply nodded in response not really knowing what he was nodding at. He continued to blink to stop himself from falling out completely and become unaware with his surroundings. He stumbled heavily causing him to lose the grip of his spear and his body wanting to fall to the ground. However, Insidia's body was still holding him up. He was just hanging against her now. His breathes where heavy like before as all he could think was to stop and rest. However, he couldn't bring himself to do that. He was vunerable out here, even with Avaren visible.
David let go of Insidia and placed his hands on the ground holding him up. They sank into the wet mud that was there. He didn't care at the moment, he had to focus. If he could make it to his house in this condition, he would surely become stronger from it. Whether mentally or physically, he was sure that this would help improve his conditioning. Even if he ended up having to stay in his bed for a few days. It would be worth it. There were things that he needed to find out and at this moment, his number one priority was to go and get to his manor.
David then pulled out his right hand from out of the mud and shook whatever he could get off. He reached for his spear and gripped it tightly. He then slowly rose from the ground but not perfectly. There were moments when he was thought to end up falling over again. However, his determination causing him to push himself further. Both of his hands where now gripping the spear that he was leaning upon. He slowly began to walk again hoping that Insidia wouldn't leave him and continue to talk. He needed a voice to help him stay away from unconsiencious.

The stranger's land ahead was more than just civilization, now, it was an existing heaven, a place to conceal she and David's life with good fortune. While she stepped, a tree's large, scrawny branch had been pushed by the fierce wind, its looming presence causing her legs to discontinue, avoiding contact with it's strong attack. It remained for a moment, as if to tell her that none shall pass.
Though it was then her companion fell, bringing Insidia to her knees, soaking her dress in the moistened soil. This place, it tapped into all of her emotions of fright and despair. Panic, uncertainty, fear, worry, naivete, insanity. The branch had retracted, its sounds another warning to leave, and another whipping past, this, breaking off like a forearm to an elbow, projecting itself with the wind, and landing in front of her. And its shape, how disturbing, it seemed to expand at the end, 5 protruding smaller stick, it did too truly took like an arm, something that could be attached to a demon! Her left hand covered her eyes, her head bowing down, her jaw falling as she groaned a scratchy, shrill, though quiet groan, seeming as if it were a scream. Her breaths showed her dire mental condition, these cursed, labyrinth-like woods, finally shattering her conscious, as she fought it her strongest before. She nearly began to weep, Insidia stood herself up, her remaining sanity and thought insisting she must hurry before her mind is consumed and devoured by the unseen.
By this time, David had been a few steps ahead. She felt loneliness, although he was no more than two feet away, she was surrounded by the darkness and its tricks. She groaned again, another scratchy moan, her eyes could not bare it any longer.
"I cannot..I cannot..I cannot." Insidia kept repeating to herself. But was she unable to continue walking, or could she not stay sane? She were raised to never fear something like this, she believed it was cursed, more wretched than any human attacker.
Then, it was the owl, in a tree close to her, it had appeared once more, looming over her, silently stalking. Suddenly it made a sound, a very loud, long, eerie, threatening sound. Her body twitched and her voice screamed in terror. While David continued to walk, her breaths became disorganized, a nearly weeping sigh of despair she made, her chest shaking unable to steady her inhale. She stared off into the distance, not directly at a thing, however in David's direction. Perhaps she could look at him if her mind was not becoming a shredded mess. Like a creepy doll that scares little girls, or a lifeless corpse, with no soul, her black eyes showed nothing. Surrounded by darkness, alone she was. She knelt without movement. The hand covering her eyes lay limp beside her. Her other hand clutched above her breast, feeling her heart, knowing it would..love...to stop.

David turned as he heard what Insidia was speaking. What madness was this? It didn't make sense what she was saying or doing. Something was unnatural and that was all that he knew. Something was definitely superficial about it, but he wasn't of any particular awareness to this kind of thing. He slowly made his way back towards Insidia who was on the ground groaning and saying akward things that he didn't truly understand. "Insidia, what are you saying?" David spoke was he approached, though it was probably not very audible.
The warrior came to a stop as a branch fell in front of the woman. He looked down upon it's shape and how it had five longer limbs attached to it. It would seem to have the appearance of a hand, however, to David it was only a tree branch. It was then that he heard the screech. His hand snapped to see the same owl as before. A cold chill ran up and down his spine as his eyes filled with some sort of fear and anxiety. He was unsure of whether he had gotten himself into something that he didn't want to be apart of or not.
His attention was quickly brought back to Insidia as she made more noises. It wasn't going to stop and it seemed that she was in more pain than him. David was now the person that was going to have to take care of her. He approached even closer to Insidia and knelt down slowly. With one hand he lifted on of her arms and placed it around the back of his neck. The same arm then wrapped itself around Insidia's waist as David came to his full height. He then began to walk slowly and carrying Insidia along with him. He only hoped that her moaning and groaning would cease before they reached Avaren. Something told him that if one of the guards heard what she was saying that he'd be put under supicion or worse.

It would be as if she was looking through David, past him, as he came to be before her. Her mind continued to become guised in the insanity this place performed. It held many tricks with it's light, it's rain, it's inhabitants. She began to think that perhaps this forest was truly alive, filled with trickery so that no souls may pass if thats what it chooses. She wanted to weep, though no tears came from her eyes.
While David wrapped his arm behind her, Insidia's head quickly turned to the right, her eyes only to see that preying bird. Her jaw appeared to be with a slight quiver. Her neck turned, pondering thoughts about this creature. It acted as a raven more than a little owl. The most bleak stare it gave, as if begging her to rid her mind of all conscious. Her breaths were more erratic and held no pattern. She could just barley make a step, a morbid walk a zombie could make, hell, a zombie could stride with more grace.
"Look." she said abruptly, the hand which held her heart now extended to the direction her eyes faced, her finger outstretched and pointing at it. "Look at it." she commanded, her remaining sanity begging to stay.
"Do you see it?" she asked, because then maybe it wasn't real at all, her fatigued mind playing magic tricks upon itself.

David stopped as he heard what Insidia said. His eyes following where her fingers where pointing. And it didn't surprise him that much, she was pointing at the forest owl that was perched on the tree branch. He then glanced back down at the female that was in his arms. "Yeah, I see it." David spoke not thinking about it, "It's just a little old forest owl. It's not going to hurt you." After he spoke he gripped her a bit tighter so it would be easier to walk while holding her.
He began to walk along the path once again. He watched the city gates grow larger in size as they approached slowly. They where still some considerable distance away as they continued to advance though. He didn't know what was wrong with her. Was it the physical strain that was he was under earlier or was it a mental one that finally snapped her in two? He wasn't very sure but the thing is, David was worried about Insidia all the same. "Just hang in there Insidia." he spoke in a calming voice, We'll be safe within a few moments and then we can get some rest and relax for however amount of time is needed."

Nearly stumbling in her steps, she had not taken her eyes off the bird, stalking it as if it were a prophet of evil. She made a calming sigh after David spoke to her after looking at the owl, perhaps what she needed was just recognition that it were nothing at all, a harmless animal. At least that was what she wanted to believe.
She managed to remove her eyes from it, then stare blankly at the city ahead, focusing her thoughts of the possibilities it could bring. Thought Inisida still appeared to be in some kind of fright and obscure train of thoughts. Her legs burned like fires spoke of in Hell, the muscles begging to give out beneath her. She nearly dragged her legs, putting no effort to lift her heels, or bench much of her knees.
With a fumbled step, the tip of her shoe caught the front of her dress, tearing a large line up the material, its rip ending at the middle of her knees. She sighed again, stopping completely, she grabbed the end of her dress, tearing more of it off, shortening its length to below her knees, though its cut was very jagged. Insidia carelessly threw the piece she had torn off to the side and felt herself able to walk with only a little more ease.
"It is so difficult." she spoke with a tired voice, even her eyelids sinking. "My legs are so weak.." she commented, though with heavy breaths continued with her faulting walk.
