[Verdan]

While the whole scene was going on, Verdan was quiet. Unnoticeable to himself and everyone else, he somehow ended up sitting on the bench several rows back instead of his original position. He was watching the scene with interest, thoughtful of each and every action. Also, he pondered on the story.

Souls often tend to haunt their killer, so he has heard, but only if the kill was made in cold blood. However, this was a different story. It was not cold-blooded murder. It was vengeance. Uncontrollable rage. Anything but murder. Possibly, it was merely a fragment of Ariadne's overactive imagination. Possibly, Shadow was right: the man was still alive. Maybe he was attempting to instill fear upon Ariadne as a torture, this time mental instead of physical like in her childhood. Endless possibilities...

Finally, Verdan spoke. "So, when are the two of you 'siblings' planning to take off?" he asked with a slight tone of sarcasm. He also was slightly disappointed. Some class... he thought Very educational... I got to first fix a broken leg, then nearly got sucked into a dream, then got to hear the ramblings of a psycho. However, he kept his thoughts to himself and instead waited for an answer from either Shadow or Ariadne.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne looked away from Shadow. She heard Verdan ask a question so she walked towards him." How you end up all the way over here...werent you next to me?" Ariadne asked him. As she sat next to him on the bench. Forgetting about Verdans question.

[Verdan]

"I guess I did not wish to intrude unto the two of you," he answers Ariadne's question, unlike what she did to him, "so I moved... I think... Anyways, when are you setting off for the village?" he repeats his inquisition, politely reminding Ariadne of the question at hand.

[Ariadne]

"But you wouldnt have been intruding." Ariadne tried to assure him. "I think were leaving tomorrow." Ariadne had answered his question. She suddenly felt bad for ignoring him when he was only trying to help. He was going to risk his own happyness to take away her sorrow. Ariadne stood up in front of Verdan. She then Bent down and kissed his cheeck lightly. "Thanks" Ariadne said with a smile as she turned around and went to talk to Shadow about the trip.

[Verdan]

"Whatever you say, Ariadne." Verdan replies absentmindedly to her reassurance of the fact that he would not have been intruding on the pair. He wasn't looking at her, though. He was staring at one spot several feet in front of him on the bench, lost in thought. He barely reacted to Ariadne standing up, shifting his gaze slightly to look in her direction. When she kissed him he was slightly dumbstruck. However, before he could reply anything, she was gone, off to make plans about her trip.

[Shadow]

Shadow looked at Verdan. leaning in, he whispering into ariadnes ear. "I think we might need some other company, Could you try to invite Paine? Illl work on Verdan here." walking over, he crouched next to him. "Would you like to come along on our journey? Id say you could be a great help, espicially if we run across unwanted company."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne said "Sure thing. When I see her ill ask her." She then went to a bench on the far corner on the room and layed on it as she looked up at the ceiling.

[Shadow]

Shadow nodded. looking back at verdan, he put a hand on his shoulder. "you ok?" he looked into verdans eyes. shadow shook his head. "I think you fried one of his circuts araidne. "

[Verdan]

Verdan speaks slowly, deliberately, carefully choosing every word. He ignored the comment Shadow made to Ariadne about his circuits. Verdan was still staring at the spot on the bench, thinking about what could have really happened.

"I'll go along if that is what you desire. However, I do not wish to be the fifth wheel on a wagon." he says, covering all the possibilities in that one sentence, not giving a straightforward answer, yet accepting the offer, in a way. "Though I don't know how much help I would be if there were any 'unwanted company.'" Verdan was no warrior and was just getting the hang of spellcasting.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed. "A fith wheel? no, you would be the third wheel. And there is strength in numbers my friend. Great strength." He shook his head, remembering a time, twelve years ago, when he and three friends had set a trap for a group of thirty men, in which only one survived more than a day. "and it will be a great opportunity to learn things. not just things from the book, but things from the land." He leaned in and whispered in verdan's ear. "about the unwnated company. that will probably range from bandits to wolves, and they are all easy to scare off."

[Verdan]

Verdan turns slightly to look at Shadow. "It's a metaphor." he says with slight distaste, shaking his head, "But sure. I'll go. I'm ready to set out as I'll ever be... On second thought, I should go get my medicine satchel. Who knows whether you're gonna break something again." he says, in a tone in which it is impossible to comprehend whether he is being serious or joking.

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed and clapped him on the shoulder. "we'll never know, will we." he llaughed.

looking at verdan, his tone became thoughtful. "you said something earlyer about teaching me how to make things glow in return for a skill of mine?"

[Ariadne]

Ariadne walked over to the guys. She heard Verdan saying hell go. "Yay!!?Youre coming too" Ariadne said with a smile. She then pulled both of them close together for a group hug."Thanks guys. This means alot to me." Ariadne said as she pulled away from the embrace.

[Verdan]

"Yes, I'm coming too, Ariadne... How could I refuse an adventure?" he says with a slight grin.

Turning to Shadow Verdan replied, getting back to the long forgotten topic. Learning. "Aye," he said, "I'll teach you to make things glow. It's quite simple really. You merely need to concentrate all of your willpower onto the one object and then envision it glowing. It's that easy... Care to give it a try?" Verdan pulls a marble out of thin air. "Haha! It worked!" he exclaims, "I wonder whose marble this used to be..." a guilty grin crawls across his face. "I still can't make objects out of thin air, but sometimes it works out to teleport it from another place. Though the place could be a bit inconvenient."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne smiled as Verdan rambled on about some marble. "I can make the best things glow!" Ariadne exclaimed. "youll never guess what" Ariadne challenged both of them.
